  1. Takes about two months per order. They come in two packages, split between mag body and the rest. I have had three orders of 8 round mags shipped to me over the last six months.
  2. I use a "shorty" 12 gauge (2 inches long) round for the top round in my 8 round magazines. The magazine snaps in much easier than using a 2 3/4" top round. I can load with the bolt closed fairly easily. Of course, I have to practice a little bit to hit the magazine hole.
  3. Buy some "shorty" shotgun shells (they are about two inches long). Put the shorty on top, insertion with bolt closed is much easier. (In your case it will make it possible.)
  4. 3 magazine bodies just arrived... I'm rich, I'm rich, I'm getting a little ridiculous. Three gun match is going to be terrorized, er make that impressed.
  5. Wow wee. Just got a package with three 8 round magazine spring assemblies. Expect my magazine bodies tomorrow (or so). Now if my magazine orders from Finland come in, I can sell them all and buy a house.
  6. Was shooting my new 8 round magazine today. (It actually can be stuffed with nine). However I couldn't load the magazine into the gun with the bolt closed. (With eight or nine rounds in the magazine). Then my buddy suggested that I try a "shorty" 12 gauge round for the top round. (A shorty is a special short round with a 2" length). Shazaam!!! With the shorty on top I could load the eight and nine round magazine into the gun with the bolt closed. Unfortunately, with nine rounds in the magazine and one round in the chamber, the Saiga couldn't extract the hull when I shot it. I
  7. Military Gun Supply Shows Saiga-12 Conversions $599. Check it out.
  8. That's three to six months in gun industry time frame. Who thinks it will be before 2007?
  9. My mag body has arrived and I have mated it up with its orphan spring and follower. Alas, the mag is wider than my 5 round magazine and fits very tightly, so tight that I can not insert it into my Saiga with 1 or more rounds in the the magazine. Let me look at the calendar. Why it's the 21st Century, with computer controlled manufacturing everywhere... wait a second, it's still the 19th century in the gun industry. And Izhmash is not the only practitioner of 19th century skills.
  10. Us fellas in Florida don't know how to use an abacus, but we can take our shoes off to count to 19. We don't have bears roaming the streets, but we have alligators. The magazine well obviously is a add-on part. We need a blueprint or a picture of it (by itself) or a contact to purchase it.
  11. Wow, I finally got a 8 round spring. Also notified that my two mag order was one mag. (I hate old people.) But, I'm on a roll anyway; Armalite sent me 5 mag bodies for my AR-10 after only 4 months. I used them to win the old people's division of the Florida Sunshine Games 3-Gun Heavy Metal match. In four or five more months, I'll have the 6 8 round magazines I need for my Saiga-12. Then, I'll be able to whip the old people in the old people's Open division with my Open Siaga. Now to go back outside and stand on the corner, watching for the post man to deliver the rest of my magazine. W
  12. Your right, the welds are hard, I used a titanium drill bit in a drill press and couldn't get through. So I turned the trigger guard assembly upside down and drilled from the other side. Much softer away from the spot weld.
  13. Cowabunga, I ordered on the 13th and there were 2100 orders before they ran out of magazines (Of course I realize that it is possible that there were orders for other things than magazines... nah).
  14. AR-15 rifle, because it can be "double-tapped" faster than anything else, can be acquired relatively cheaply (lower at a gun show for less than $100, parts kit from Model 1 Sales for $400). More upgrade parts than any other competition rifle. Remington 1100.
  15. If you can see the monitoring of this site, list them. We are all curious.
