    My 308 W/ 8x42 POSP

Just wondering, how's the eye relief on that scope? Is it still good with the sported stock?
  2. So, I've got a Saiga-.308 and a Saiga-12 now. I've noticed that the trigger groups are different. I've known how they were different before, its just that now I can see them side by side. This is the thing: My S-12 is a shorty 19" barrel and needs a pistol grippin' somethin' fierce. And I love my S-.308's wood stock too much to pistol grip it, but I DO like how the trigger group works on my S-12. So it comes down to this: I wanna PG my S-12 and put the trigger group from it into my S-.308. The only thing is, I haven't heard of anybody ever doing that. (Everybody's just "Pistol Gr
  3. So, thanks for the info. I haven't really delved very deep into any of the modification tutorials yet. Just a quick few questions, what kind of tools will I need, will I need to refinish the gun afterward, and do I need any experience in gunsmithing? Thanks.
  4. So, a few questions, cuz I just acquired a S-12 today and am a bit new to it. I remember handling a S-20 one time and the sight was different than the S-12. It was like a rail of some sort, instead of the plain old iron sights I got on my S-12. Whats up with that? Where can I find an elevated sight for my Saiga-12? I can't seem to find them on any site. If someone has one they're willing to sell me, ya know, I'd give you American currency for it And speaking of things that go on the end of the barrel, would it be possible-because my barrel isn't threaded- to thread my barrel t
  5. Speaking of all these mag conversions, why isn't anyone going crazy over modding the M14 mags? I've seen a couple guys on this forum who have done it and it doesn't require any mods to the gun, just the mag.
  6. Man, that is so sweet! I have to have one! My list of guns to buy has just gotten longer. What kind of scope is that, and where did you get it?
  7. Well, the thing is that the ROMAK-3 and Saiga and any other guns designed after the AK all have the same long-stroke gas system. The only thing is, the ROMAK-3 was designed as a light sniper/marksmans rifle for the Romanian military. People get it confused with the Draganov all the time, but in reality, the Draganov and ROMAK-3 are totally different guns. They only share one characteristic: They are both made lighter than regular AK tpye guns, with a thinner barrel and lighter metal all around. Whereas normal AKs and AK varients are designed to be more robust and can take a lot more punish
  8. Hey fellas, just wondering if a Blackjack Recoil Buffer will work with my S-.308. Will I have to get a different recoil spring for it, or can I keep the one it came with?
  9. YEah, I've got a 22" .308 with wood stock. The ones with the wood stocks also came with a built it rubber butt pad. That butt pad helps a lot for recoil. When I fire that baby, it feels like the .22 of .308s. I don't know about groups, 'cuz I'm all about plinkin' cans and bottles, but I get real good target aquisition with my .308 with that butt pad, less than a second and I'm back on target. I have lots of fun with my .308. I look forward to huntin' with it since my hunting gun last year was an old bolt action. You will deffinitely enjoy that rifle man.
  10. Mine was so tight that I cut the hell out of myself releasing it the first time. I never thought dull steel could cut me, but I was in for a surprise I should have used the plyers
  11. You got me. I've heard that Saigas have had a few different importers over the years, but I personally haven't heard of any other importer except for EAA. Sweet scope!
  12. I'm gonna tell ya to contact these guys. http://dynasystems-ltd.com/ They do custom stuff.
  13. Deffinitely drop-in pistol grip butt stocks.....and.....oh yeah. MAGS!
  14. Bought a .308 gas tube from Onepoint, got the gas tube works great, great deal. It's official: Onepoint rocks.
  15. This guy is obviously an asshole, no doubt about it. It isn't really their fault that they labeled these guns that way, though. It's really the fault of certain government officials who are scared of guns and/or weapons in general. The writer and editor of that article was just going with the flow. But it still doesn't excuse the fact that he's an asshole.

  17. C'mon, SOMEBODY has to have a .308 buttstock floating around somewhere! I need it, cause my stock is MIA (broke a chunk off taking it off the gun ). So if anybody could help, that would be awesome.
  18. Well, how about this: if I just bought some matte laquer and painted it on, would that work? If I just slathered the stock with laquer, do you think that'd do the trick?
  19. Hey, if any of you guys have a wood butt stock laying around from one of your conversions, I am deffinitely interested in buying it. As long as its in good shape, I'll take it. Thanks.
  20. All I heard when I read that article was, "Be afraid of the invisable enemy, the terrorists are coming." When, in actuality, our government are the terrorists, they just haven't terrorized us yet. And ya know, as long as they keep protecting me, I'll keep paying my taxes. But, just like a Doberman Pinscher, as soon as they turn on you and bite you, it'll be time to put them down. That's why I stay armed, for when the soldiers come for me, I'm not going peacefully. By the way, it isn't the liberal media, or liberal government you have to look out for (although they are equally bad), its th
  21. Well, I really just want to seal the wood permanently, but still preserve the finish it already has. So to achieve that, which do I use: tung oil or BLO? We are talking about wood on a Saiga rifle, so I don't quite know what kind of finish it has to start with.
  22. So Thomson's stays soft for about how long? And what the heck is BLO? And I've never heard of tung oil. You guys are gonna have to enlighten me about this stuff.
  23. Hey fellas, wonderin' if any of ya happen to have muzzlebreak/flash hider that'll fit on the end of an SAR-1. I'm lookin' for one for my friend for his SAR-1. I've already got one for my SAR-1 that is a set-screw style. It actually came off of a MAC-90, so it fit a little tight (needed to pound it on with a dead-blow hammer). So really, I'm lookin' for a set-screw type break/hider for a MAC-90 or SAR-1. Thanks.
