  1. I got my mag yesterday too. Only two weeks for me. I also wanted to say thanks to FBMG. A twenty rnd mag adds a lot of value to my Saiga for me.
  2. Just got my mag and think the mag body looks great but the floor plate looks like it needs some help. Has anybody tackled this yet?
  3. I used an AMD 65 brake. Diameter was not the problem. I think any misalignment would have been noticeable. The eye has a habit of catching things that are not almost perfect. For the bullet to strike the brake it would have to be pretty crooked. Besides, it was a pin-on adaptor; alignment is really out of the hands of the installer. All you can do is slide it on and drive a pin through it. Not exactly rocket science. Anyone else install one of these on a .308?
  4. I bought one of those pin on brake adapters that some guy was selling a while back. Went on good, appeared to be tight. Lasted three shots. Recoil pulled the brake off despite the pin and setscrew. On the third shot I saw the brake and adapter flying toward the backstop like a grenade launcher. The bullet went through the bottom of the brake. I wrote the guy twice about two weeks ago and received no response. $45 down the drain not to mention the loss of the brake. Gave me quite a scare too
  5. Hey Rick, Please keep us poted on that HK magazine conversion. I'm very interested in that. Got my threaded adaptor the other day and it looks great. Installalation went without any problems too. Got any reccomendations on muzzle breaks? I'm not worried about flash suppressors, more interested in recoil reduction. Of course I want it to look good too.
  6. Rick I've sent you money yesterday for a Saiga threaded adaptor like the one pictured on the first page. You sent an email to verify what I want but I keep getting an Undelivered Mail message when I try to respond. Hope you'll see this. Jim
  7. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How do I get a break like that one, or any break for that matter. Anyone doing that for hire?
  8. Has anyone ever put a muzzle break on thier Saiga .308?
  9. I just did the conversion, took fifteen minutes. It did help to see what others had done. I used a bench grinder to shorten the follower and shortened the spikes leaving the floor plate retainer in place. The grinder left the plastic parts smooth and I only had to use my fingernails to trim the edges. Also shortened the spring. I would still like a 20 shot mag but a 10 shot is still better than an 8. I was happy to find this thread. I looked at doing this when I got the rifle but it looked like it would cost me $50 if I screwed it up and that's if I could find a replacement at all.
