  1. Congratulations on your new Saiga 12! You will love it. I used to live in K town about 10 years ago. There used to be a gunsmith off of Kingston Pike near Papermill road if I am not mistaken. I am sure you won't have too much difficulty finding a good smith in "the patron state of shootin' stuff." good luck, --Dave

Why not just check on Gunbroker or some similar site if you want to get a ballpark value on your gun? --Dave
  3. The post I saw (AR 15.com AK section) recommended said to remove it entirely. I don't think so! Maybe he is just trollin. http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=4&...80&t=118889 post #2 --Dave
  4. Yes, the dustcover I am referring to is the one on the spring. Regular AK's don't have one. --Dave
  5. Hi all, I have seen some posts on another forum saying that the floating dust cover on the S12 should be removed as it can detatch itself and cause jams. Any truth to this? what do you guys think? --Dave

  7. Here are some better pics of my Tac47 conversion. I need to paint the stock parts to match, but It shoots reliably (haven't tried low brass yet). Here she is, resting on my fine Texas summer lawn: cheers, --Dave
  8. My S12 was cut from 19" to 16" with a welded on Tromix flash hider. It required no adjustment to the gas system at all. However your mileage may vary... --Dave
  9. This saiga is listed as "converted". Doesn't look like it to me. check it out: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=136224429
  10. Yeah, I guess so, It wasn't a piece that Tac47 put on, I installed it myself. I think I will put the original handgualr back on and order a railed one. --Dave
  11. Hi guys and gals, I have a tapco galil forend with the tromix bracket that has too much side to side play. I searched through the threads and didn't find any solutions. Has anyone experienced this? What solutions do you suggest? thanks, --Dave
  12. It's the one I bought for my conversion and it required no modifications to use. --dave
  13. Thank God I live in Texas! I do keep the Saiga 12 with a full magazine with the bolt locked open. I also clean it weekly to keep the dust factor down. The fastest gun I can deploy is my 1911 .45 ACP. Which is locked in a box by my side of the bed at night. It has the finger groove buttons with a simple code. I can get it out in a few seconds. My other pistols and long guns are in my safe about 10 feet from my bed. We have 2 german shephards in the house and flood lights in the front and side of the house. I think we are pretty well protected. I appreciate all the responses. Th
  14. I love that digital camo that Warriorjudge posted but I think if I set it down I would never find it again. --Dave
  15. I believe that picture shows a AGP magazine, not a Promag. In fact the auction is for an AGP magazine. The Promag has a waffled pattern on the sides. --Dave
