The gun will handle 3", or 76mm, length shells just fine.
The issues arise with magazines. Use the proper mag for your corresponding shells.
Unlike the 12 gauge, the 20 is very temperamental with regards to feed geometry with the long and short shells in an incorrect magazine.
ETA: what is on the side of your mag, 20x70 or 20x76?
-
All of the S20s can accept 3"/76mm shells. There's no such thing as a 2 3/4" / 70mm S20.i got my gun new and it came with 2 -2 3/4 mags i have changed out a lot of stuff tring to get the gun to work right and it still does not. i took it to a shop and they worked on it and they said its working good. so i went to get it and the 13 round magizine was missing. so they said they would not charge me for working on the gun. i just looked at the gun and its marked 76 so thats a 3 inch shell and thats why i have been having problems. they dont make the 3 inch ones any more. if your gun is for the 3 inch shells i would sell it. save you the pain.
The issue is that you have to run shell length specific mags for the S20, unlike the S12. 2 3/4" / 70mm mags for those shells and 3" / 76mm for those. The S20s are also more finicky with ammo, needing higher power shells to ensure cycling.
Sounds like the shop stole your 13rd clear mag.....

I zero my shotguns at 15' with birdshot since I shoot that 95% of the time in 3 gun matches. I then just figure out my slug holdovers since I shoot fewer of those.
BL: zero with the ammo and distance you'll predominantly use and then figure out where to hold for your secondary round/distance.

If you're interested in multiple items let me know and we can figure out a price and place to meet up to complete the sale.
All the 54R was identified via the resources at 54R.net: http://7.62x54r.net/MosinID/MosinAmmoID.htm

For sale we have a used Adams Arms bolt on gas piston system. This comes with the gas block, bolt carrier, bolt spring and gas plug; all you have to do is add whichever length drive rod and bolt for your particular build. These parts had approximately 50 rounds of 7.62x39mm factory ammo on them when I decided to go a different route for the build. Price is $150 shipped
A collection of (4) carbine length black plastic handguards with heat shields, (2) front handguard mounts, (2) gas tubes for a Commando length barrel and (2) bolt on gas blocks with top rail and barrel pins. All are brand new, unused. $60 shipped for all of it SPF
Up next is a single piece 1" scope mount. Solid aluminum construction and no nicks or scratches on the outside of the mount. This was on a bolt action .22 and only saw bench use before I went with a 30mm optic. Price is $50 shipped
Next is a Sun Optics AR carry handle scope mount. Never mounted, new in the packaging. $25 shipped
24mm dovetail scope mount rings for a .22lr or air rifle. $20 shipped
All items located in Arlington, VA.

For my 5.45 guns I purchased a CNC Warrior 24x1.5 to 5/8x24 adapter and mounted a 51T muzzle brake to it. I then run cleaning rods through the whole set up over and over, with the weapon laying at different orientations, to see if the cleaning rods contact any part of the mount or SDN-6.
So far I've got one Krink I'm running suppressed with no issues. As other builds get completed they'll get the same treatment since suppressed AKs, while not hearing safe or "quiet" compared to ARs, are still quieter than unsuppressed.
While I could do the same thing to my 103 clone, I'm too much of a puss to test and test and test and then pull the trigger on a round. The .221 in .30+ suppressor bore doesn't spook me after checking with the cleaning rods, but a full .30 bullet going through the can would give me some serious pucker factor.

Mag catch pin walking out
in Saiga-12
Posted
My oldest S12, owned over a decade at this point, is starting to have issues with the mag catch pin walking out with repeated mag changes.
I’ve done a few mods off and on to this gun over the years, including using and then ditching an extended mag release lever as well as one which was thumb activated a la the IPSC Vepr 12s.
Guessing the holes in the mag catch retention ‘wings’ have gotten egged out after repeated removal and insertion of the pin, causing the pin to fall out as I activate the factory mag catch to remove and insert mags.
Ordered a new mag catch pin from CSS thinking it might be the pin, but it’s still having issues.
Any ideas as to getting a pin which is flared on one end and is retained on the other side via an E or C clip or some other mechanism. Would hate to have to get the factory mag catch retainer replaced, which would require drilling out and riveting in place a new one.
Thanks all
Eric
