  1. How would I remove the bullet guide? To remove the bullet guide you can just file it down. If you do an google search for Dinzag's bullet guide installation, you will see an example at the bottom of the page. Hope this helps.
  2. IMHO, Saigas benefit from a nice, fresh coat of paint as part of the conversion process. I've had good success with the flat black Krylon (sp?) along with the high heat types. I've shot a lot of rounds in quick succession and never had a paint problem (even bumped fired a mag or two here and there). Good luck!
  3. Really nice job! Love the stock! You did a great job with that Saiga!
  4. Looks great! nice job - enjoy you're sweet rifle!
  5. Also, I forgot to respond to the question on the 1911 grips. It's a Kimber TLE II. I found some micarta grips on a half-off close out sale at Cylinder & Slide; however that was about 6 or so months ago so I don't know if they're still there. Everyone asks if they're VZ grips. They've been very durable and, IMHO, look great with the blacked out 1911.
  6. Thanks guys, I appreciate the comments! The paint was really easy to do and I would definately encourage anyone debating to go for it. I would suggest getting a good firearms paint. What I used wasn't as nice so it's possible I'll have to re-do it after it gets handled and taken through the drills. Basically just start with a good prep wipe and make sure the surface is very clean. Hit it with the lightest color first, followed by the next lightest and then the darkest, leaving adequate time to dry after each application. After applying the white, I used regular old masking tape to stripe
  7. Hi all, just wanted to share a few pics of the new paint job. I had some free time Friday night and figured I'd give it a shot just to change the 'ole AK up a bit. I've grown fond of the urban camo theme, so I decided to go with that. I think it turned out pretty decent. My photography skills aren't going to win any awards, but hopefully you'll enjoy these pics!
  8. Sharing a few pics of the new paint job on my Saiga 7.62. I did it myself and it turned out pretty decent given that it didn't take long at all. I went for the urban camo colors (black, white, grey). Hope you enjoy!
  9. Looks great! Nice job...I'm a fan of the plum. Enjoy you're new rifle!!
  10. I have the Tromix now and have been very pleased. FYI, I think you'll need to do a proper conversion before a folding stock has any use for you. Otherwise you'll be folding the stock in the absence of a pistol grip.
  11. Looking good man! Nice job on the conversion. Does Ohio not allow 30 round mags? I noticed you have what looks like a 10 rounder there.
  12. Congrats on doing such a nice job! That's a great looking AK you got there. Good taste too, since I chose the exact same furniture and rail...ha ha
  13. I wouldn't try it as it is probably very dangerous. A 7.62x39 round is a .30 caliber round (a .308 "short" if you want to call it that) and is not interchangable with a .223. Are you possibly confusing the 7.62 with a 5.56? I'm not an expert on .223s but I think many rifles chambered in .223 are interchangable with certain 5.56 rounds.
