  1. Two different cop buddies of mine told me (off the record) that if you defend yourself, make sure the assailant is dead and in your house. My rule is: large caliber (.45 or .44), one or two shots for me. For my wife (she's tiny and only has a .22 pistol and a .410 pump) shoot until you feel safe.
  2. That's a great example of why "everyone gets a medal" and "everybody is special" is total crap. Eliminate the competative spirit before it has a chance to grow.
  3. I'm a horror movie fanatic, but I have spent countless hours on lathes and other machines and my vivid imagination paints a terrible image in my head of that guy's untimely end. At first glance, it appears from the part he was machining that it was a low rpm/high torque process that allowed him plenty of time to watch his arm roll up like a wet noodle, followed by his face and head being compressed to mush. That probably took over 10 seconds to die, and under those circumstances, it would have felt like an eternity!
  4. I really wish I didn't see that. That shit gave me nightmares last night! I've been a machinist/cnc machinist since 1990 and thankfully never saw anything like that. I would have little burn marks all over my arms when I ran the lathe a lot because I refuse to wear long sleeves or gloves on a lathe! The worst that's ever happened to me was: Counter bored my hand (3 stitches). Got my thumb stuck in between a bench grinder and the gaurd (it ground my nail off and flung blood around the wheel and splashed me in the face). And finally I caught a big sheet of steel to the back of the skull (13 stit
  5. I know women who could probably stash a S&W 629 .44mag Dirty Harry special up in there!!!
  6. Guns, alcohol, and drugs. Add heavy metal, filthy humor, porn, and violent sports to that list and you've got most of the stuff I like! (Red meat, and bacon too)
  7. The city of Detroit is the canary in the coal mine. That level of devastation is already spreading, Camden NJ is a great example.
  8. 45's are habit forming. My 1911 isn't enough, I want a Berreta px4 and an EAA now. A .45 carbine of some sort is on my list too.
  9. So ya want to play in the politics game do ya? Ante up like the rest of us. Tax those bastards!
  10. I agree with Corbin that the 5.56 in barrels under 16" wouldn't be my first choice. 7.62x39 will hit harder. Personally, I have a soft spot for pistol caliber carbines as PDW's. We have S-12's/AK's/AR's etc for the wide open spaces. Hell, I'm waiting for Kel-Tec to make the CMR-30 to go with my PMR-30. That will be some fun gunning (loading those 30rd mags with 22wmr takes forever though).
  11. The pps-43 is a fun choice if you get the SBR stamp you can open the shoulder stock. Ammo is cheap and zippy. Kel-Tec Sub-2000 in 9mm with 33rd Glock mags looks fun too. Masterpiece arms mac-10 carbine in .45acp with 35 round mags would look great next to your Kriss.
  12. Might and Magic on the Sega Genesis took me forever to beat. I've never beat Ghosts and Goblins or Ghouls and Ghosts. I don't know anyone who has. My brother got 100% on Castlevania Symphony of the Night. I'm not even gonna try!
  13. I still have it. I fucked it up when I was trying to put threads on the outside of it for attachments. I precision ground the O.D. right to spec, but had the thread die too tight when I made the first pass. Bent the shit out of it! Maybe the bottom 6-8" is still good, but I never mess with a bent barrel. I can send it to one of you guys if ya want it. PM me.
  14. Between Fukushima, the island of garbage the size of Texas, the giant jellyfish plumes, and the spread of humbold squids, the Pacific has some serious problems. I'm waiting for some Godzilla mutants to come crawling out of there.
  15. Barrel is already destroyed. Stock is locked open with no barrel in my posession. The bolt assembly is in a seperate safe as well. I don't mess around with the laws.
  16. I finally found one on gunbroker. A guy in Oklahoma is selling them, just ordered mine for $133 shipped. He has 10" barrels too. I can't wait to slap it in, I locked the stock open, welded a lightweight steel rail to the top, made a polyurathane damper to replace the hard fiber one, ground off the rivets and filled the holes with weld and painted it. I fired it a few times with the short barrel (before I screwed it up trying to thread the end) and it fired nice. Those little plinkers are gonna fly out of that 16" barrel. I'll post pics when I'm done. Scott Andrey can suck it.
  17. The greatest live show on Earth is no more. They lost a guitar player 2 years ago and now the founding member. Glad I saw them at least 10x. They will be missed. http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/people/2014/03/24/gwar-frontman-brockie-found-dead-in-virginia-home/6821683/ That's me doing the backward stage dive at 20 seconds. 1994 in Baltimore.
  18. I did a s-12 stock and some 1911 grips that way. 1. Get some high quality curly or tiger maple and make your stock. You can't cut corners here, you have to get good grain wood. I got mine on ebay. 2. Get some fine steel wool, some red scotch brite and green scotch brite to sand it down to an almost glassy feel. 3. Get wood dye in whatever color you like and apply it with a sponge a little at a time. It may take up to 5 coats to get the desired color. I used transparent black for my s-12 stock and green for my 1911 grips. 4. Coat it with clear acrylic or polyurethane. You may need to brush
  19. Juggernaut's post summed it up perfectly! Good bye to bad man.
  20. Facebook=no to guns, yes to drones. http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-03-04/facebook-gets-drone-business
  21. I thought you were going to suggest that all gun show venders sell gun related stuff. (If selling non-gun related stuff, they should be hot chicks).
  22. My tv viewing is about to get epic this week! Justified on Tuesday, Americans on Wendsday, Vikings on Thursday, Walking Dead on Sunday. What a time to be lazy!
  23. It'll take some tough S.O.B's. 16 months one way in zero gravity, drinking recycled pee and sweat, a strict diet, and cramped quarters just to name a few of the challenges.
