  1. I personally would go with a brake over a flash hider, more usefull. But from the list, I would say a pistol grip would be the best upgrade. Plus Saiga's look better with pistol grips rather than the built in the stock grips, IMO.
  2. Make me an offer, I want them gone. I have 8 slightly use 30 round ProMag mags for the Saiga 7.62x39, I am converting mine and want to use steel. Also, the last time I went out shooting, a few of the mags did not feed the last round. I'm not sure if it is the gun or the mags, but they do have the lifetime warranty. Will sell for $12ea, 4 for $40, or $75 for all 8. Price includes shipping. Also willing to trade for steel AK mags. Let me know what you got. Note: this is cross posted locally on backpage but you guys will get priority, guarantied.
  3. I'm sure the police left out the other 100 riffles they seized, along with the thousands of rounds they will need to go have fun with them. 7.62x39 is probably too expensive down there too.
  4. The stock hand guard is too hot for me here in Az. After 30 rounds it is hot, and after 60 it is almost too hot to shoot. I don't think cutting breather holes in it will solve the problem so I ordered a UTG quad rail. I figure with the rubber rail covers on it will eliminate this problem. Plus stockers are just ugly IMO.
  5. That vid is considerably better. Maybe not as detailed, but well worth watching.
  6. Very nice looking gun, looks well balanced. Let us know how well that round works. I've never shot it but I'm curious how different to the 7.62 it is.
  7. +1 on the stripper. You DO NOT want to use a grinder. You SHOULD NOT remove or damage the serial number or import marks. You guys that are telling this guy to use a grinder are misinformed. Not with a grinding wheel. With a wire brush. A wire brush should be fine on the gun. Nailbomb said he didn't remove the paint before he did his, I think it came out great. http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=41744
  8. I've never seen paint thinner damage steel, but I second the wire wheel. Even paint thinner will take some time and some elbow grease.
  9. This is my first post, but I'm definitely not new to this forum. From what I have read the only thing that might be a PITA is if you don't have a hole for the pistol grip. Check your riffle out, the hole should be right in front of the original trigger hole and be visible by taking the receiver cover off. If you have the hole your good, if not than you have to cut one but there is a template on here that should make it easier. I can't wait, only another 20 hours or so of reading and a crap load of parts to go till I start mine.
