  1. You state: "My converted S12, with TAPCO folding stock, which gives me a good and properly aligned cheek weld, strikes the end of my nose with something, whenever I'm shooting hot loads. It's like being pelted with one, maybe two, sand grain sized bits, not terribly hard, but enough to distract somewhat from the task at hand." In my case I thought it would be cool to install a Romanian folding stock on my S12. After having the end of the recoil spring guide hit my cheek I ended up replacing it with a NATO length AK stock. So far I have had no issues. Each person is different, and for me th
  2. I had a problem today at the range my Russian 5 rounder will not feed correctly Remington Magnum 3" Express 00 Buckshot. The first round and sometimes the second will feed but Round 3 or 4 is getting stuck low in the mag.I had to really tap the mag a bit to get things back out.Unfortunately I did not bring my AGP mags to see if the same issue is evident.Any Ideas on improving the feed? Bob
  3. No two Saiga 12's are exactly the same and for this reason the drum must allow enough material for a custom and thus proper fit as desired by the Saiga 12's "partner" Bob
  4. You stated "Lastly, I tried to drift the rear sight leftward using a hard plastic mallet and it wouldn't budge. So she still shoots 6-8" to the right (at 20 yards)" Just curious but have you verified that none of the gas ports are blocked by the gas tube assembly being improperly pressed on the barrel (Possibly Canted)? You can use a dental pick from inside the puck housing and probe each port, look through the barrel and you should see the end of the pick.See the attached picture of my gun.You can only see the one port but the other two ports are just above it and rather close to being blo
  5. My Mod is complete for now. Thanks to all the Forum members for your help. Bob
  6. Thank you all! I ended up basically doing what SpetsnazGRU stated and as I pulled the BHO lever up the spring of couse fell off the tab but that was the least of my problems. Not wanting to wait for a Krebs plate to arrive I had to use a needle rat tail file and adjust the hole in the Power Custom plate until the select lever would line up with the plate and receiver. Also had to grind and shape just above the selector lever hole on the plate so the bolt carrier would not interfere.Installed the Selector lever moved the BHO lever back in place and as SpetsnazGRU said I used dental pics to ge
  7. I feel a little embarrassed asking this but is there a particular way to re-install the Saiga 12 selector lever? Came out fine a month ago but I just finished my PG mod and and am having difficulty re-installing it.I also wish to use the Power Custom pin retainer plate and see it will need to be modified since the rear top portion is interfering with the bolt carrier.I have tried installing the lever without the plate and still I am stumped. Thanks, Bob
  8. I wasn't going to post Pic's yet since my conversion is still in progress but I prefer this Romanian Stock.Best part it was only $44 and it simply screws in place no mod of the receiver at all. Bob
  9. The first one I bought is terribly lonely it needed a companion! Bob
  10. Great advice. I took measurements and checked operation of the bolt carrier hammer and dis connector,Sear with both all G2 components and then with the G2 trigger and dis connector used with the Saiga factory hammer. Results were not good using the saiga hammer with the G2 components, Simulating a trigger being held as the bolt carrier returned forward, after the dis connector released the G2 Sear only had 1/2 the engagement on the hammer that the all G2 components had, combine that with a real fire situation and yes I agree with Cobra and WaffenSchmied bad things can happen. My advice other th
  11. Duplicolor DH-1602 high heat ceramic Black 1200 degree paint. Could not find it local but got lucky on Ebay.
  12. I chose Saigatech model:s12SteelAK Traditional. Looks Great! Best of all it is built Great!
  13. WaffenSchmied.I measured the hammers at the areas indicated in the picture. I believe that this is the area that you said that I should try and match is this correct? I'll be having my machinist friend do the removal so I will simply ask him to match as closely as he can this area. Thanks, Bob
  14. Currently doing a PG mod on my Saiga 12 and need to know other than the "Given" material that is removed from a Tapco G2 Hammer, do the hammer ears also need to match? The right side of the factory hammer ear has additional material removed compared to the Tapco G2. Please see pictures for clarity. Thanks, Bob
