  1. I notice that 7N6 has dried up everywhere, but I still have a fair amount of it, and am thinking to get out of 5.45. What would be a reasonable price?
  2. Thanks. I'll have to give USPS a +1 also, since I shipped on Saturday morning and it arrived already!
  3. Only two items still available, both heavily discounted: 1) Bonesteel Arms left side folder AR stock adapter, mounted to rifle but never used. $89 8) Bonesteel Arms VZ-58 top railed handguard, new in package. $58
  4. What the military does today does not provide us with freedom nor guard our freedom, which is not in danger from overseas sources but from domestic ones. I noticed that Odd Man Out bailed out of this thread when I posed the following challenge: 'While you were "protecting our freedom", we were (and are) becoming less and less free. How do you explain that?' I don't think he or any of you can answer it.
  5. "It is mandatory that all students take two years of math. If you understood the word, you would have understood my meaning..." I get it. You are trying to pretend that being forced to "serve" in the military is not involuntary servitude. If you are serving, but not voluntarily, what is it, exactly? "To your second statement, "No, I was never inclined...". It is very clear to me that you do not know the meaning of service. I served under a few that I did not agree with but understood that my service was to my country and not a single man. Service transcends the petty self serving int
  6. "My offer of mandatory service for the country has nothing to do with the draft, ergo your statement has no bearing in logic..." If you don't wish to be misunderstood, try to make it more clear what you are advocating. But given the topic of this thread, the assumption that a draft is in view is completely logical. "have you ever served???" In the military? No, I was not inclined to put myself and my conscience under the absolute authority of the likes of Barack Obama, George W. Bush, or Bill or Hillary Clinton. I do try to serve God though. "And it is even more amazing h
  7. It's still involuntary servitude. It's amazing how many conservatives believe that our lives belong to the state.
  8. What else do you call involuntary servitude if not slavery? How is "service" meritorious if it is not voluntarily given? Besides, your thesis has been tried and found wanting. Did the draft during the Vietnam era instill "depussification and patriotism"? Hardly. Our lives do not belong to the state. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLEUsa5MdUg
  9. I'll differ from everyone who has commented so far and say this is a good change. Freedom of conscience is good, and mandatory military service (slavery) is not. If the United States is ever invaded militarily by a foreign power, there will be no shortage of volunteers to repel the invasion.

  12. Hi Dave, The pics look OK to me. I'll try to repost here though:
  13. It has been previously mounted to a Saiga rifle. Let me know if you'd like more pics.

Cross-posted at theakforum.net Going from left to right, top to bottom: 1) Bonesteel Arms left side folder AR stock adapter, mounted to rifle but never used. $92 2) VLTOR AR stock adapter, mounted to rifle but never used. $60 3) Black CTR stock, also never used. $30 4) OD CTR stock, never used. $30 5) Black K-Var pistol grip, $5 SPF 6) Black K-Var pistol grip, $5 7) Black K-Var pistol grip, $5 8) Bonestee
  15. Look for the AK Operator's Union video about the Magpul furniture. They beat on it quite a bit and certified it good to go. (It did finally break when they ran over it with a truck while the stock was folded). The fact that it is lightweight doesn't mean it is fragile. The K-Var fixed stock is even lighter than the Zhukov but won't be breaking without a ton of abuse. I had a Bonesteel Arms folder with CTR stock on mine before going to the Zhukov. Nothing bad to say about the Bonesteel stuff, except that it is very heavy with the CTR stock compared to the Zhukov. I find the Zhukov more sati
  16. Why would it need to be on a lighter duty rifle? It's plenty durable.
  17. It looks to me like the barrel clamps would be too small for the larger S308 barrel?
  18. You can always add all possible M-lok aluminum rails, a flashlight, two lasers, VG full of batteries, bipod, rail covers, etc. to bring the weight up.I never considered putting those things on a buttstock before, but if you think it will help... ;-)
  19. Got my Zhukov stock late last week. It's way lighter than expected, almost too light (for balance purposes). I'm pretty happy with it.
  20. It will vary depending on your rifle. The M85 mag looks a hair wider than 5.45 magazines, but I'm guessing it will still fit. If it will not lock, you will have to dremel the feed lips until it does. I also had to dremel down the very front of the magazine a bit in the very front between the feedlips so the magazine would clear the bullet guide. Let us know how it goes please.
  21. It just makes sense. It is the one AK 5.56 mag that checks the boxes of being currently available, inexpensive, and high quality. I like my Weigers better but the one M85 mag I converted runs flawlessly.
  22. Do you have any Galil mags? Try them; they may not need any modification at all (other than installation of the bullet guide in the rifle). Besides the bullet guide, I would not want to modify a VEPR for that particular kind of magazine. Those are old mags, some with failing springs. A better bet would be to see if you can make the M85 mags work.
