  1. A simple answer is a "rifle". I appears to be a non converted 223, hard to tell if its a 16" or 20 " barrel.A very nice looking scope that is most likely more accurate than the rifle. Saiga's are reasonably accurate but most are in the 3-4" range at 100 yds.If you had gotten the original owners manual the actual test firing accuracy would have been on the last page. Mine was 87mm or about 3.5"Most on this forum will suggest you convert it, but it is not necessary. I have diabetes and my trigger finger couldn't tell the difference between a high dollar trigger on a converted Saiga than what my
  2. I received two promags and one surefire with mine. The promags had the tabs broken off, but the follower had been modified and they feed like a hot knife through butter. The rear of the follower raises the bullet and they don't even come close to hitting any part of the front of the magazine. Hit the chamber dead center whether angled in from the right or the left. You can always install a bullet guide, if your promags wont feed. They arent as sturdy as the surefires, a wee bit of side to side wobble
  3. At close range a 75gr keyholing just makes a bigger hole and is more likely stop the zombies. I love their glow in the dark blood.
  4. The ones for the Galil clones have to be modified to fit the Galil, at least those with Orf receivers, and possibly the Caspian cast receiver too.
  5. No problem with mine.Even the promags look ok
  6. Now your going to make me check mine as it has been loaded over a year.
  7. I was given two promags when I bought mine. I had heard all the horror stories, but curiosity got the better of me. Both the riser tabs were broken off, so suspected they would jam. They didn't instead they fed perfectly, but I stuck with the Surefire which worked like a dream. It was months before I saw another promag at the range,I put the two together and saw that mine had a different follower that raised the bullet close to 1/4" and fed without even touching any part of the trunnion. Dead center into the chamber. On the negative side I have no idea if these followers are off another brand of m
  8. Red dots have batteries that seem to die at the worst times, the iron sights are a back up...
  9. More than likely the Promag guide broke off within the first couple of shots. If you dont want to go to all the trouble, buy a Surefire, they work, fit snug and cost a bit more.Use the time it takes to reload the mag to allow the barrel to cool off.As far as I know we are not yet at war!You could buy 3 Surefires for the cost of the adapter...
  10. Galil steel fit without modification, but do require a bullet guide.Prices seem to be coming down, I paid $20 ea. for two like new, but I own a Galil also...Promags are cheap but have a lot of side to side wobble.I do not recommend these
  11. I don't know who keeps calling automatic transmission fluid a great lubricant for guns, but they are wrong, dead wrong. Water would be just as good.I'm an Arco refinery retiree, used to blend the stuff for various manufacturers. All ATF contains an adhesive, otherwise the clutch packs would just spin and your car would not move. It's other purpose is as a coolant to keep those clutches and other heat sensitive parts from burning up.It viscous to allow the pump to develope pressure to turn the vanes in the torque converter. It is not a lubricant, period.
  12. No guarantees on 5.45 availability.Either us or the ruskies could get a hair up their butt and and we could ban importation or vice versa. It happened with Norinco, and no Chinese weapons or ammo have been imported for years.I got a 1260 round tin of 7.62x39 for $99 in 1990, copper washed, steel core. Not one failure of any kind, still kicking myself for not getting a Norinco 1911 for $279. Wilson Combat was using them as base guns for their custom builds.
  13. My experience with chrome lined barrels is the the first shot out of a clean barrel will be a flyer.I havent fired mine for accuracy yet, but put 20 rounds down range checking function.BTW my booklet said 84 which is about as good as I've seen.
  14. I have a Cimarron SAA clone with two pounds, I've seen bolt action rifles with as little as 1/2 lb I think both my 223's break at about 4lbs. My Kel-tec P11 claims 8.5 lbs, but feels like 12..It doesn't matter to me if the trigger reset if short. I adapt to whatever I'm shooting pretty quick.
  15. Gunbroker has 43, this one is plain vanilla less a magazine, no reserve. Currently at $235 http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=177033901
