  1. Well, this got way off topic & for some odd reason, I'm not foreseeing a recovery. Screwit. IceRack rocks. Topic's locked. Don't hate me because I'm beautiful.... - EDITED TO ADD; I am still so angry about this, Shannon. I was nice there, and you keep coming back with more & more character assassination, insults, and accusing me of being an over all f
  2. That isn't hard to believe at all. Funny thing is I have been doing S-12 bolt re-profiling and polishing for 6 years now, at least 4 yrs longer than Pauly. It's all the excessive advertising and the incorrect notion he wants everyone to believe, that he somehow does "better" work, that keeps me having to defend my own work like this. Anyone can say or believe anything they want, but the real reason for this thread, and reason he happened to use a former customer of mine like he did, was to try and drive home the same point he's been trying to drive home since he first copied my business model.
  3. I like different things for different builds. Some look great Iced; Some look great black too. Personally, I really don't like the vertical chargers in the Matte White Steel look though. Factory handles, look great like that, but the upturned chargers just touch me more in black or IceRack Thanks. I'll PM you an extensive form letter that'll answer many logistical questions.
  4. None whatsoever, and no worries. IceRack's purely aesthetic. GlassBolt is where all the functional modifications are. Well... Actually... If you were stranded in the woods, you could potentially use it to signal planes. That's a function. The charger it's going to have makes it quicker to charge while the shooter's hand remains on the PG though. Ouch. I posted the thread to advertise IceRack and Inner Demons. Since around 98% of my work is on S-12s, it seemed like an appropriate place. I pay $100.00 a month to advertise here. My apologies if you take issue with IceRack. I
  5. I agree completely. (all the pics are the same carrier though) But in this society, where "no child left behind" means "They're all gonna be fuckin' retards", where one of the most unconstitutional pieces of legislature ever passed and resigned is called "the patriot act", where the federal reserve, is privately owned, and the word "smart" as in "smart growth" is about the stupidest thing going on as far as the people are concerned, I figured arguing the definition of the word "polish" would be futile and counterproductive at best, so I just said fuck it, and made up a word. I hear
  6. In America we have a two party system... The Stupid Party, and the Evil party.... Every now and again, they overcome their differences and work together to develop bi-partisan sollutions... Which are both stupid, and evil.

  7. Just to clarify the difference between simply polishing, and IceRack... Up close, with pictures that aren't out of focus.... Polished Saiga carrier; IceRacked Saiga carrier; Polished Saiga carrier; IceRacked Saiga carrier; The reason there's imperfection where the handle meets the carrier, is because this is about to get an Inner Demons Vertical Charger, so it's about to get welded there. I didn't take the extra time to get in that particular tight spot yet because that's only the first pre-welding pass, but that p
  8. Mississippi Auto Arms's site says they have 73 in stock. Get'um while they're hot. Damn good grip. It's about the stoutest, most durable grip out there. Great for the S-12's recoil. It's great for big hands, and it looks good too. I love that grip. I bought a bunch for my future personal guns.
  9. Thanks guys, and all who PMed. You're all awesome. Great day all and all. My folks visited, I helped out one of the girls, and spent the rest of the day out in back, in my humble little machine shop welding on and fabricating the enlarged bases of upturned charging handles, using several decades old, but industrial grade american made equipment as Buckshot and Kazimierz, my two dogs hung out on their pillow off in the corner. (My workstation's set up where they can't see the welding light) When going to pick up two US made carbide endmills that I had out to be resharpened, I was able to
  10. Do tell?I quit doing carrier repairs & just started instructing the capable on how to do their own because I can't warranty them. "Deadeye" actually has the last brass M-12x1.25 rod I made.
  11. Just for shits & grins, I practiced removing the "match-striker" on the right side of a spare receiver I have where they marked out the old RAA marks, then after 70 grit Aluminum Oxide blasting that section for texture, I hit the area with Duplicolor Low Gloss black engine enamel, fading into the factory paint, and I'll be damned if I can see the transition it matches so well. Just hit the bare spots with MEK or acetone to remove oil, mask a touch, and one's money for a nearly unnoticeable touch-up after a DIY conversion.
  12. God bless you guys. You're saving so many people's asses with that. I know 5 guys off the top of my head who were looking for carriers. I've alerted all that you're making them back when you first announced it. I'd recommend anybody with a high end S-12 who intends on keeping it for life get one while they're still being made to have on hand as a spare being as the carrier's generally the only part that can break beyond repair on the guns outside of a barrel obstruction.
  13. why do it all would be my question. I mean, it really isn't necessary or needed. my S12 functions just fine as well as every firearm I own, and not one of them has polished bolt groups. some of the things being offered for the S-12 is fluff, and not really needed. sort of like a lot of the stuff being peddled for the AR platform. Well, that all depends.Look at it like building an engine. One can hop a stock engine up with Nitrous, or one can build it to be all engine. Both can obtain 10 second 1/4's, but only one will be the most durable, the all engine build. The polishing is j
  14. If it were mine, I'd measure from the rear left side of the carrier where it butts up against the trunnion, to the end of the op-rod and record the measurement so I set the next one at the same length, then I'd drill through the indentations, remove the factory op-rod, screw in an M-12x1.25 threaded brass rod and weld the chip up. Then I'd install a Tom Cole HD Op-rod, which comes longer than the factory unit, fitting it so the new op-rod bottoms out in the carrier so the force is then transferred directly to the carrier so the steel's under compression stresses like it was formulated for, ra
  15. Pretty simple really. If you end up with this; or this; Well...
  16. Sorry. The business #'s a pre-paid AT&T cell that I bought after nearly breaking the limit of my Verizon Family Shared plan. Once in a great while I forget to re-up it until I notice I didn't get any calls on "x" day. It's back on. ETA; "Playboy vs Balls-Deep". XD Priceless. Here's my latest porn; (no, the old rear sight block isn't photoshopped. It's welded up & ramped so there's nothing to catch on as the shooter slides his hand over the weapon for lightning quick, comfortable, blind charging. But my favorite part of that picture, is the forest that you can see i
  17. You are correct. I am serious and it serves me well.I can add the extra weight of an HD op-rod, and an upturned charger, with heat treated extended/enlarged mounting base so it's all built all the way to the carrier for the extra force/leverage generated by the handle during cycling & can't even break if abused outside of going to work on the thing with a sledgehammer, and even with all the added weight of both, the customers STILL report back vast improvement in cycling from GlassBolt alone. There can be only ONE, best In the world in any market niche. One must be serious & contin
  18. Jack, you do know that when you quote a guy's post at 1:52am pacific, they get an email notification with the content of what you posted, right? And if you delete that version, retype, repost your next draft at 02:21am pacific, delete it, and finally repost your final draft at 02:29am pacific.... The guy who's post you quoted gets 3 emails with each draft, as well as the final post, so he knows exactly what your original train of thought and intended snark was. Now Jack, we've talked in the past at length, and we're pretty much on the same page when it comes to these things. I can't see how yo
  19. Are you drunk & looking for a pissing contest Jack? Why? What's the point? Not getting enough work, so ya' gotta make a scene? Trying to get attention to drum up business? Why in the sam hell can't i post 4 posts a month, IF THAT, not challenging anybody, nor calling bullshit on any of the assinine shit I read because I don't want to hurt people's precious feewings, without some attention seeker always feeling the need to talk shit about SOMETHING? Yeah, I saw your first 2 drafts of post #31 Jack. Before you settled on the one I quoted on this thread. I have them in my email because you
  20. lol... I've actually thought of fabbing up a rig & trying to find a gauge tough enough to measure gas pressure. I can't seem to find gauges that stay at the peak pressure & are resettable though & really don't have the time to tinker, but once a gauge is found, it'll be a really easy & useful tool to make & have. It'd be interesting to ship it around to people with different port sizes & see what each combo delivers. Until then I just use minimal porting & tune them for ejection to be 6' to the two-o-clock with weak value pack shit. I never go over 3@ .093 0r 4 @ .0

Thanks. My favorite part is how I built up the old rear sight block to a ramp so it can be charged by sliding your left hand over the top without catching on any sharp bumps whatsoever. I'm going to add that as another service to do for those who require perfection but are unable to do that build up & blend themselves when adding H&K sights.

  23. Did someone say Custom? But nah.... I don't take full guns. Just parts. Just figured I'd show off after hearing the word "custom". If you just want ports & stuff, Jack Travers of JT Engineering, Matt of C&S & Tac-47 come to mind right off the bat for guys who do fine tuning when you're not getting a full build. They're real good at what they do, highly respected & quite reputable. As for the LRBHO install, I'd hit up the guy who made the thing, Tom Cole of Cadiz Gunworks. He has a business member subforum
