  1. one of the mysteries of mankind.... You SEE the chuck-key fall, yet when you reach down to retrieve it, it's seemingly traveled through a wormhole into some unknown 4th dimention... after a half hour of searching, you find it somehow managed to travel a good 10' from the drill press, although the force generated by the distance of the fall isn't conducive to the distance of travel.... Well, there goes a wasted 1/2 hour & much frustration...

I bought a bunch of chuck keys at Harbor Freight for about a buck each. One is attached to my drill press with a chain, another is nearby on the workbench, and the remainder are in a bag in a toolbox somewhere for when one of the other two gets lost somehow.

I bought a metal retracting keyring with chain & attached it to the belt shroud & attacher the key to it.

      It took about 10 min.

Considering all the time searching for the things, I can't believe it took me so long to break down & do it.

It's different now though now that Time really is money

While I was replacing the BHO spring after doing the FCG conversion the spring just disappeared. I searched for over 2 hours on under and behind everything (including myself) within 15 feet of where I was working. I finally gave up and ordered a new one. I found it a week later 25 feet away in plain sight. I know I didn't have near enough tension on the spring for it to travel that far.

  2. They're Heeeeeeerrrr!!! You KNOW you want my 18 inches...

  3. When I try to search (with the forum's search function) for members by member name to contact them without wading through many previously read PM's, it comes up as "website unavailable. There seems to be a board software issue? Some other areas seem to have the same access issues.

  6. If you've emailed me in the past couple days & I haven't responded, feel free to bump the email or PM.. I know I haven't responded to 1, but I just can't find who it was to get back to you.

  7. So, I come in from the shop to get coffee & Obama's on TV... The TV was muted, but I couldn't help but notice his classic psychophysiological movements of one who's lying such as facial expressions, touching his face & mouth movements during pauses as he speaks. So I unmute it to see what he's lying about. Turns out to be education & job creation....

    1. David Mark

      David Mark

The fact that you perceive psychophysiological movements is very cool Pauly. But there is any easier way to tell when he's lying. His mouth is moving.

This is true with all politicians. They learn early to be animated as they speak to be perceived as truthful, but there's some things that can't be faked or kept in mind while the mind is racing to confabulate convincingly.

When I need a change of pace, I take a break & address issues that "The Media Blaster Of Truth" uncovers on select pieces... One may be amazed at what paint will sometimes hide.

You can't screw around when shipping parts out that're blasted matte. Stuff pops out.

The varying levels of "Bling" is simply a result of form following function & pride in workmanship.

      But thank you.

We're just focusing on getting these orders out.

I've been getting 2-3 & up to 7 in per day so I myself only have time to come here and do administrative stuff at night. Otherwise, when my name pops up, I'm just checking PMs.

  19. I don't know whether I get high off of the fumes from vaporizing steel as I weld, or if I just love it so much that I feel high, but "welding high" is cool. ^_^ Just blast the Koz & get sparky! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJt821b2tYg

If you're using OA and your oxy is set too low, could be the fumes. If you're using MIG/TIG/stick, dunno, maybe flux? If you're welding galvy, could be zinc poisoning :D

I have a new development that will change this process forever. I'll update in a bit, but if a person wants the best, most efficient friction elimination possible, DO NOT copy any of the pictures previously posted of ANYBODY's work.

      Trust me on this one.

This process has come to a whole new level for 2011.
