Yep, I want to run a folder with a recoil pad. Not that I need it mind you but it does make the 200+ round range trips a bit more pleasant... It sounds like the 8.5 with the folding mechanism + the recoil pad is the way to go since I am fairly average in size and arm length... Thanks for the info! V.

I'm looking at adding an ace stock to my Saiga but I am not sure what length I need. Whats the best way to figure out which one I need? The standard saiga stock fits me well if that helps. Thanks in advance! V.

It is. I could go this route but I dont want to mess with the Federal SBR stamp. So I was really hoping to be able to end up with one very much like it but a full length barrel... The clamp on site would work but I see AK's from time to time with a true integrated fsgb. I'm not in a rush so I will keep digging. I appreciate the responses and ideas! V.

Thats not bad. I was basically trying to make one of these (see below) but with a full length barrel. I dont want to deal with the federal stamp. I would have to get some one to probably re-thread the barrel for me or not... Depending on how much it runs. The point is that I really want a FSGB... I know, its crazy... Ok, I am just not getting it... I really want a FSGB combo for my SGL21. So, checking out the K-Var site, I found this one... But I am not sure if it will work. What concerns me is the thread on the front for a MB. If I put it on, I will basically have a good six+ inches of barrel extending past it? If so, other then looking weird, any other issues with it? Can i just cut it off? Is there a better option? Thanks! V

I am going to end up hunting some javelinas this year and the AK looks like is going to be my best bet... So, I am looking for a co witness red dot that I can use on my arsenal sgl-21 with an Ultimak rail. Looking for something around $100 that would not be total junk... Any advice or experience? Anything I should avoid? Should I look in to a side mount for the red dot and keep it closer to the eye? Thanks! V

I am going to see how they fit. It looks like I am going to end up with about a 1/4 inch gap and thats just not going to work for me. I think I will have to come up with some type of a ring to cover it. I just dont feel comfortable with that much gap for dirt and things to get in to the barrel. V.

Ok, I have a SGL21-61. I am trying to replace the gas block with a FSGB combo AND get a railed gas tube installed in one shot. So after removing the top handguard I saw that I have a spacing problem. It appears that the gas tube is too short and it will probably not even reach the new FSGB combo. Also, please note the crappy fit of the new railed gas tube to the new FSGB. This is starting to really frustrate me as both parts are suppose to work on this specific rifle. Any ideas? Any one else have this issue? Thanks! V.

I picked up a gas block front sight combo from KREBS (Really nice people to deal with) Its basically raw metal. So two questions: 1) What should I use as a finish on it to match the saiga black? 2) Should I apply the finish on the inside as well or just externally? Thanks! V.
