  1. Hi CJ. I believe others addressed the cutting of the dust cover. You will get a slight wobble but nothing to great. All my charging handles were welded on with a 110 wire fed welder. I have the charging handle on my S-12 on the left side as well as keeping the orginal on the right. I used a HK charging handle for the left. Which allowed me to keep the orginal incase the left failed, or if one of my lefty friends was shooting. I have about 300 rounds with the left handle and it hasn't failed yet. The big advantage was when I was doing my low brass testing. I woul
  2. Congrats! Enjoy your new Rifle.
  3. No prob. Have a good weekend
  4. Damn.. what were you doing opening car doors? How the heck did you bend yours. I luv my chaos warthog. I've jammed it into wood doors, walls and ocasional beer cans. Guys see it and are "what the heck is that?" I say if the slug or oo doesn't do the job there going to get a taste of warthog....lol Great product Cameron
  5. PM Sent Yes I did PM you about it March 7th. Nathan did you get my PM?
  6. Yeap I know... I want to have my S-12 set up so all I have to do is adjust the gas plug to a setting with the load I am firing. Rather than disassemble the gas block to switch a puck or remove a spring. I had issues firing low brass rounds with the stock setup, along with the after market products out there. Tryed different combos stock puck, aftermarket gas plug.. etc.. Nothing would work. High Brass, Slug or OO would work fine. My Saiga maybe different than yours or someone elses, for example another person in this thread with a newer Saiga hasn't had any problems with firing ch

Enlarged my Gas Ports to 3/32 and it solved the issue.

  8. So after doing tons of searches, (Thanks for all the Great Info)as well as using different products advertised to allow low brass use... The solution was to enlarge my three ports to 3/32. History: Prior to the enlargment I have polished the bolt, the hammer, reduce recoil spring an Etac twister puck and both the MD Arms and gunfixer plug. None were consistent with low brass Walmart Remington or Winchester Ammo bulk. I used the orginal mag along with my AGP gen2 mags. Solution: After removing my gas block and drilling out the three ports to 3/32. It fires the Remington or Winches
  9. All I want to apologize to Nathan I should have done a private PM and not shot gunned him on this thread about the adapter. I went off half cocked. NO excuses. Sorry Nate. PM Sent Yes I did PM you about it March 7th.
  10. How about sending mine I ordered back in Aug 2009. When I paid the full amount back then. I did PM you about it a few weeks ago.
  11. What piston is that? Ahhh Read further up on your post, about the 410 piston.
  12. Instead of attempting to tap the rear trunnion, use a loctite nut on the inside of the receiver. I did that when I placed my ACE pig nose for my ar stock. Good luck.
  13. I know it's not my Saiga 12 just my AGP mags that I painted. I used a Lucky 13 skull stencile for airbrushing I just used regular spray paint for the mags.
  14. Thats Awesome. You just created a new market. Now mill in some picatiny into the top and bottom and you can retire... Great Job. Keep us posted!!
  15. I don't care what people say "AK's suck for accuarcy" The Draco rocks!! So this last week I was able to shoot my Converted Draco at some steel targets at 200 and 300m. With the 11.5 barrel and a permatley attached extension I had no problem hitting targets. Even had a couple other guys take some shots. Making some AR guys fans of the AK platform.
  16. Damn Kvar is quick on shipping. I ordered it on Sunday night and it was at my house on Tuesday. I have been TDY and I got home and my little brown package was home waiting for me. So checking it out.. if I was to put a puck in it it would fit. The orginal S-12 gas block on the rear has a cap to allow the gas tube to attach. The S-12 gas tube on the SG-142 would leave a gap, unless it was stretched out to fit. Anyways... I have it and one day when Saiga 12 pricing goes back down,,, I will buy another one and attempt to make some conversions. I don't want to mess up the on
  17. I'm going to go through with the order and experiment. Will follow up when done.
  18. I just started a new post on this. I'm putting the part number in case anyone else does a search so this will appear, SG-142 BTW Where did you get the gas piston and plunger for your set up?
  19. Ahhhh Figures I even did a search on here before I posted. Maybe I will post on that post with the part number so it will come up in the search results. Well to late I ordered one last night. I guess I will be having to hunt down more parts for the conversion. Thanks
  20. Not familar with that one... Not to mention there is no place to put a gas plug. Can you clairify for me. Thanks
  21. So I'm checking out K-var and I see this SG-142 Thoughts of buying another S-12 or converting my current one. Has anyone installed one of these on your S-12? https://www.k-var.com/shop/product.php?productid=17692&cat=330&page=1 I was thinking this would be pretty cool along with the Dinzag rear sight block conversion. http://dinzagarms.com/saiga_12/akpou12.html My question though is how will it effect the gas chamber. I am sure OO and slugs would be fine, but for light loads I wonder if that would cycle. Any input would be great.
  22. Hey Shannon It wouldn't be such a long Vid if you would have pulled the trigger faster. Your getting slow in your ole age...lol ... Great Videos. Keep em coming
  23. That is Sweet with the folding stock. Whenever I leave this f'd up gun state thats what I would like to do. Bad Ass
  24. Go with the Solar Tactical. I have them on three of my rifles. Here are some pics on my S-12. Easy to put on and take off when your out of Cali.
  25. I would go with the Saiga 308. Not a fan of bolt action, lever action that would be bad ass(Rifleman from the 60's) The FNAR with a 20" barrel weighs 8.8 http://www.fnhusa.com/le/products/firearms/item.asp?fid=fnf049&gid=fng022&mid=FNM0176&item=3108929320 While the FNAR heavy barrel weighs 9.13 http://www.fnhusa.com/le/products/firearms/item.asp?fid=fnf049&gid=fng022&mid=FNM0199&item=3108929500 the Saiga 308 with a 21" barrel weighs 9.0 http://www.izhmash.ru/eng/product/saiga.shtml The Saiga 308 weighs comprable to other rifles out there.
