  1. Dude.. Her thing for those damn crafty things is worse than ours for Saigas.. She has the cricket cake machine, imagine, and two regular ones... Not to mention an entire room for all of it... Oh well, when she buys stuff for her hobby... I buy guns... Ha it works for negotiation when I buy
  2. More like Barney This is the first one... Of course you learn by your mistakes and attempt to improve on the next one...
  3. My DIY Hand Guard.. Very Solid.. No play Hell of alot better than my Gail Tapco handguard with Tromix retainer (freakin thing moved all over the place) Materials: 2" exhaust pipe and home depot metal Skulls from my girls cricket machine...lol... I left room at the gas plug to remove and clean out. I plan on adding some non-skid tape to the handguard at a later time, along with adding a side and bottom rail. I know your going to comment about no sights.. I have an HK set coming this week and plan on doing a rail between them. Later
  4. I took a vid... If you can't see it PM me your email address and I will send you the full size. It moves alittle you can see at the spring, take a look at yours and see how much the cover moves compared to mine. I had seen someone take a small piece of metal and wrap the lower part of the rear cover to eliminate any woble. I think it was here in this forum or maybe calguns. 5. Here is what I did. Groved out the bolt carrier then welded in the MP5 charging handle on the S-12 On my 223 I used the old gas piston with a slight angle up. I haven't shot the weapons yet so I can't say how things are going to hold up. I did bang on them with a BFH and the welds didn't break...lol

Great Service!!! Just got my mag rebuild kits. Spings are perfect screews are in seperate bags, everything Looks Great. I called a week after ordering spoke to one of the guys there he said they were having more made and should be shipping out this week. I called this week to get an update spoke to Reva, and next thing you know I had a shipping notice. Can't wait to get the others together and try em out.
  7. No maj... Got to Luv these guns regardless... Have a good one.
  8. What length is you barrel right now? 16.5 or 21 A Standard AK-47 with a 16.5 barrel is accurate according to the FM's to 300m Semi, and 200m Auto. Guys that have had training and know how to shoot know they are accurate out alot further. Shortning your barrel will decrease accuracy at longer ranges, but cutting it down from a 16 to add a permanet brake isn't going to effect it that much. Going down to a 10 or 12 yes big time. Accuracy depends on a number of factors... bullet grain, temp., firing platform (prone, bench, standing, kneeling, supported/unsupported), sight allignme
  9. Yes you are correct... move sight opposite direction of impact to correct.
  10. Hey... I like your screen name... what class were you? I was 12-88 Yeap old dude.. were you in Bn?

  11. Damn I just did an order and didn't get the discout.... Oh well Ordered Yesterday and already shipping today.... Thanks anyway MAA
  12. Another Great Rental experience from Dinzag Thanks Brian
  13. Well when I began reading this thread I was pretty calm... Then I came across your response to Cobras comments above. Let me clairify a few things. .. I'm not some douche with no mechanical skills... I am the one that had the cracked trunnion... I had the adapter in hand. I had three mags to place inside the mag well to check fit as I ground down the areas. The Renegade Adapter wouldn't even fit when I first got it. I had to grind down part of the adapter where it meets the mag catch. After finally getting mags to drop free, and paying closer attention to the RB adapter was uneven
  14. Great Advice from all.... I just did my S-12 this weekend, 223 and Draco.. Got going and couldn't stop... I didn't remove any metal off the bolts, just polish. I'll see how the S-12 fires then maybe do more on the bolt.
  15. Mine is Rangers Lead The Way With any board trying to come up with a Screen name that fits without being to dorky or arrogant. Back in 87 when we still wore black berrets.. Sean
  16. I haven't had an issue yet... My barrel was hot as heck, I know due to having to put the cleaning rod back in the Draco, and of course my glove is missing some leather on the thumb.. yeap very hot. As well as the rail was very hot, Air Temp was around 85-90 when shooting last week. Rate of fire rapid. Mag change/reload and shoot again. So to answer your question. It did not fail due to overheating.
  17. Here is my DRACO with the Primary Arms Micro. So Far I have shoot the crap out of the PA, I shot more 5.56 and now only about 110 rounds with 7.62. Works Great. I use a Aimpoint on my M4, and I put my Bushnell micro on my AR. In full sunlight the dot is fine. The Aimpoint has a more intense dot, but to be honest even out in the day I have to turn it down. The PA Micro, I usually have on the 10 or 9 setting. I am running a Midwest Ind rail on the Draco, don't expect to cowitness... as Sal said the interior light source is at the 4-5 o'clk position and gets in the way.... And to
  18. I know what you mean about the selector thing... Comparing the two, the AR (M4) is so much quicker to initiate a round down range. The one thing as anything with weapons or drills is practice... I am now just as quick with the SAIGA as I am with my M4.. I modified my selector on my SAIGA, then put it on my DRACO, to speed up the selector. Anyways I know that doesn't answer your question. Here are some pics that I found online it is a GALI selector.. This might help point you in the right direction. When I have more time I am going to try and tinker with an extra AK safety and a M4
  19. Great write up. One thing that would be good to do is do an actual range video of the two products: Demonstrating; loading, chambering and firing. (When you have the time) Here are two vids of shooting with the Renegade adapter. Steel targets were at 150yds. Second vid with mag change and rapid rate of fire.
  20. Great DIY stuff... Using the grinder.. should have been done in stages, just like welding ... slow and steady so you don't over Heat the metal. I know that is probably a factor.... along with over doing it. Another, and this is What I consider the major factor, placement in the vise to do the work. Looking back I put pressure on the outside of the receiver while doing the work, which could have caused stress on the trunnion as well as the heat from the grinding. Let it be known, vise/grinding was done over a period of 3-5 times... So by doing that over and over again I believe
  21. Here is mine.. The Rear Sling mount is still under construction. I just have some 550 cord for right now.
  22. That looks awesome... Great Job!!
  23. Thanks for all your help guys. This past weekend I welded up the area, cleaned it up with the dremel. I am ordering a rivet set and when that comes in, I plan on putting things back together. So hopefully that will fix my little dilima. Obviously, if that does'nt work... Plan 2 is order a new flat, and AK 74 trunnion. And rebuild that route. Thanks to everyone. btw. I just bought a Draco ... so that will be a new toy to play with along with all my other stuff.
