  1. Make sure you check the fit of the stock on the PSL - I am 6'2" and it doesn't fit me at all - when you put the scope on you have to contort your body / head to shoot it from a bench or rest position.
  2. Exactually how many pre-1990 Saigas have you seen ? - if fact how many pre-1998 Saigas have you seen ?
  3. Welcome - you are certainly a welcome addition IMO. You have been able to produce a product in relatively short order at a reasonable price that others have taken much longer to get to market at higher prices. I wish you well and hope you make alot of money from the mags - you are making the Saiga's an even better value and serving your fellow shooters.
  4. Sounds like a basic gas tube misalignment - take solace as there are very few who can screw up an AK action.
  5. If you can't get them from FBMG then you are SOL. Cutting the mag springs down - what were you thinking ?
  6. "you can have the bottom plate parkerized if it bothers you. thats what i'm going to do with mine. check all 3 that i got not too long ago, there all good but never have the chance to try it out. only thing i notice on mine, one of the set screw on the bottom plate was all the way in but the other two is flush with with the bottom plate. " Wow this was certaily an illuminative response - -- "there" (they are) , " two is" (two are) , "check" (checked) , got 'em but did "never have" (never had) the chance to try "it" (them) out and a keyboard without a cap key all in one post. 10/4 big bud
  7. A couple hundred thousand dead Germans from WWI and WWII would consider the Mosin Nagant to be an effective Commie sniper rifle - not to mention the use in Viet Nam.
  8. Nice job - enjoy - just don't lay it down in the woods.
  9. From the discussion are you saying that someone may have comitted an ATF violation by having the FBMG hicap mags in his/her posession if they own a non modified stock SAIGA also? The scenario as I understand it is if you bought and received the new FBMG hicap mags unless you have installed the parts on the rifle required to meet the US parts count you are in technical violation ??
  10. The action will handle the weight however there is no reason to shoot that heavy of a bullet for medium weight game. There are quality hunting Nosler, Hornady, Remington 150 gr. bullets available as well as other brands. Chose a different rifle if you need to shoot heavier bullets.
  11. Gee Tromix hold your fire - I did not see the on Nov. evaluation data until macbeau linkled it. I thought I was giving Tromix a pretty positive comment about the testing as it was a pretty complete bench test with pictures and extensive wrtie up. I thought it was helpful in particular as the mags are not your product.
  12. macbeau - thanks for adding the evaluation link - all I could find were the references to the mag bases not fitting around that time. It is good to be aware of the importance Tromix gives to product testing and endorsement. Caveat emptor if one is concerned.
  13. I cannot find test data posted regarding the actual field use of the mags. There is information with regard to the baseplate fit issues. Have the mags been tested with a variety of ammo, under different weather conditions, how many rounds have been fire through a sample of them and so forth ?
  14. Check out the Vector Arm's offerings http://www.vectorarms.com/indexframe.html You get a warranty and they take regular mags w/o customizing.
  15. The question here is FBMG satisified the mags are reliable and durable. I don't remember reading the beta testing data ?
