  3. UPDATE: I contacted the Conneaut, Ohio Police Dept and spoke w/ a detective assigned to the case. It turns out the guy was already in jail for trying to sell the same rifle to a guy in Texas. I sent all documents that may be related to the case. His partner has emailed me apologizing up and down stating there's been a misunderstanding and the the money was en route back to me. We'll see what happens in the following days. Thanks to everybody for the support.
  4. I'm sorry but I do not understand. Can you explain that a little more?
  5. I've read that the rail systems that mount on/over the gas tubes may have a tendency to have red dot sights unable to maintain a zero and also the heat the is generated to cause red dot sights to malfunction. Is this true? I was considering to install a UTG AK-47 Quad Rail System on my .223 Saiga and mount a Primary arms M4 type sight on it. Is it best to stick with a standard mount that attaches to the rail on the side of the receiver? Has anyone had positive results with the UTG system? Thanks
  6. I installed the E. German gas tub on my Saiga. I also took the spring off the rear of the stock tube to keep the new tube alittle snug. There's a slight gap (approx 1/16") where the rear of the tube mates up with the rear sight base. Is that going to effect the cycling function? Will it not provide the needed seal for cycling or is it nothing to be concerned about? Thanks
  7. In my own opinion, I understand your statement although I have to disagree with the comparison. But that's what it's all about. Every individual has their own criteria they want met. I believe you can have the best of all worlds. It takes research and experience. You feel you have met your needs and I feel I've met mine. I love my Saiga 223; it's met the criteria that I was looking for; accuracy, functionality, and reliability, While the 308 model has the ability to ingest steel cased ammo, what it lacks (IMO) is not what I was looking for when I was doing my research. I came this close to buy
  8. And about half a dozen makes of brass ammo to start. Ah well takes all kinds cant apply MBR standards to all rifles, best of luck with the Stoner. Why is that? Because it doesn't shoot steel cased ammo? This design started with the AR 10 over 50 years ago. Those rifles have started showing up overseas. So it's not acceptable to have a MBR that can shoot MOA? Please enlighten me. The problem occurred right here. You should get that checked. Enjoy your new rifle, sir. Why is that? Because it doesn't shoot steel cased ammo? This design started with the AR 10 over 5

  10. not hard, use a vise or wrench and put it on the two parallel flats on the end that goes in the rear sight block and rotate around to the bottom, then it just pulls off. Piece of cake! Thanks for the tip! It was so easy it's embarrasing.....
  11. Hello, I have up a Bakelite handguard set and I was considering going with wood to match my butt stock and p/g. How easy or difficult is it to remove the plastic hand guard fron the gas tube? Thanks
  12. If it was a 60's era AR than yes. Thanks, I appreciate your concern. It will be nice switch that I won't have to be concerned after reading about DSA's quality control and customer service issues again on the falfiles. Maybe once in a while for old time's sake, I'll go on. The FAL is indeed a rugged proven battle rifle. I liked mine, it was a great project. A couple of great gunsmiths helped me to get it running right. It never achieved the accuracy I was hoping to get out of it. For battle rifle accuracy, it was exceptional! I have a S-223 that I converted and it's been great! It ru
  13. Thanks for alll the input! I sold my FAL last week, took the dive and ended up buying a DPMS 308 panther w/ 18" barrel. Thanks again.....
  14. Hello, I just picked up an East German uper/lower handguard w/ gas tube. If I use the Dinzag bolt on handguard retainer, will the set fit on my S-.223? Thanks
  15. I saw a picture of these, it seems like the trigger group is in its correct position. Anyone have one of these. Aside from that, are they any different from the S-308???
