  1. 1. NSAIDS are mainstay of treatment. Over the counter includes Ibuprofen which can go up to 800mg 3x/day. Naproxen up to 500 mg 2x daily. Indomethacin is prescription. Choose one and go with it. Always better with food and avoid this class if stomach issues or kidney issues. 2. For acute treatment we'll also often throw in some cholchicine which is no longer generic so costs a fortune but works well for acute flairs. Here and there steroids if someone doesn't tolerate NSAIDS. 3. If it's a recurrent problem which gout often is we usually check a uric acid level between flairs and the
  2. I loved this from Fox News "A loaded 12-gauge shotgun was found in the glove compartment of the Honda Civic Lanza drove to the school with two magazines containing 70 rounds of Winchester 12-gauge shotgun rounds." That must have been a dang short shotty and enormous 35 round mags. Love it.
  3. Just got done with a Wilderness Medicine conference. I've never heard of a kit that has CroFab in it. Stuff is crazy expensive and can require 4-6 vials at $4500 for 2 vials (given 2 vials at a time). It is mixed in some IV fluid and then run in over 1 hour. Dose is same for kids since it's based on amount of venom not size of victim. The CroFab covers Western, Eastern diamond backs, Cotton mouth, and Mojave. About 25% of bites are dry but symptoms of a wet bite can be delayed up to 12 hours. The suction kits and especially cutting kits are of no proven value. Ice, pain meds (though avoi
  4. The Scooter Store sucks worse than Walmart Winchester bulk pack ammo. As a family doc in residency in an inner-city setting I had every crack smoking clown under the sun coming in asking for these things. They're already on disability, food stamps, section 8 housing and pass the day using drugs, making babies, and watching TV. So when they run dry on drugs and baby making they watch TV and see the freaking commercial promising them a scooter for nothing. Then the Scooter Store and the patient both start to hound me. I would fill out the paperwork as accurately as I could and when, SUPRISE
  5. I'll reserve judgement on the Fury. At the risk of being flamed and don't get me wrong I love my Saigas but it's not like they are a finely tuned piece of machinery when they show up at your doorstep. You're dang lucky if it runs out of the box with no work without using 3 inch or expensive loads. If it's a S20 it may never reliably (100%) cycle the cheap stuff. This forum is full of documented inconsistencies in the Russian manufacturing (2-4 hole barrels). If the Chinese do even a half decent job the quality will be on par with the stock Saiga. My only concern is availability of after

  7. It is dang nice to see a company taking a stand in this. Such a contrast to Dick's and Cheaper than Mud.
  8. I'll wait for more info and see what quality and interchangeability look like. Most of my new Saigas have taken some work to get them running smooth so the quality doesn't have to be perfect (nice if it is though). The big issue for me would be mags and other parts. It's taken about 10 years for the development of "after market" mags/parts for the Saigas and if the Fury isn't able to use those......well not worth it.
  9. I hope it's not coming. I like peace but more than peace I love liberty.
  10. Finally got in touch with Promag (their phones have been understandably crazy). Sent defective drum back and got new one today under warranty. Loaded it with 30 rounds and no probs. Gotta get out to test it soon.
  11. So S-20's and 410's are not included?
  12. Hey Doc, is there anything you can do with all those assholes in Washington? 1. I don't know but a wise general surgeon once told me the only reason not to do a rectal exam on a patient with a belly ache was if I had no fingers or the patient didn't have a rectum. 2. A not so wise first year med student once asked if you should use one finger or two to which the general surgeon replied "Usually just one but I suppose you could use two if you wanted a second opinion." **Both true stories**
  13. Family Med Doc. Ya all need your colonoscopies! More exercise, less chips gentlemen. There you have 2 of my 4 years of med school.
