  1. Should look at Elzetta flashlights. They use Malkoff LED drop-ins and are very tough lights. I think Surefire makes some very nice lights, but I also think they have rested on their reputation for far too long and they are no longer innovative in the LED flashlight space.
  2. There is also a place in Sparta about 40 minutes Northeast of Louisville called Randy's Range. You can check them out at randysrange.com Small place, reasonable rates, and a very nice guy. Otherwise, your best bet is Knob Creek for an outdoor range.
  3. Been reading a lot, but haven't posted here much. Got my Saiga that I bought months ago to the range for the first time today. I took some Rem 00 Buck and Fed Slugs. Both of these cycled perfectly with the factory gas plug set on 1. Then I tried some Fed bulk pack from Wally World on setting 2 with the factory plug and it cycled flawlessly also. I was going to try the Fed bulk on setting 1, but my shoulder was getting a little sore after about 50 rounds. My question is, should I consider myself lucky? Any need to try the Fed bulk pack on setting 1? I just wanted to do a thorough function c
  4. Wonder how a 12 ga. shell would fit into the Magpul magazines for the SR25/DPMS 7.62 platform? These magazines already fit the Mega MA-TEN receiver. Maybe it could be converted to a MA-TWELVE?
  5. Not trying to question the validity of your source, but a quick check shows the factory Glock 33rd mags in stock at several of the usual places. The prices seem to be what they were a few months ago. Also, the clone magazines are made in Korea, so if there was a true import ban I would expect it to affect these mags also. They appear to be available for the usual prices at a number of internet sites. Based on this evidence, a BATFE ban seems unlikely unless it is true and nobody else knows about it yet so the panic buying has not yet begun
  6. If you haven't tried this yet, I would just burn a Ubuntu install cd. All of the recent Ubuntu install CDs can be booted as a live system. Then you should at least be able to see if Ubuntu linux can see your internal hard drive. There is chance that you can copy files off of the hard drive to a USB key or another computer over the net. If this sounds too complicated, I would pull the hard drive and replace it and load Windows on the new hard drive. This way, there is always a possibility to recover the data later. Once you load an OS over the existing install, the possibility of recovering th
  7. Please put me back on the list for a couple of 5 round mags. Got mine from the last round and they look great!
  8. Would love to see how you did this, but I have a hard time asking when I know that this will eat into your ammo stash fund! decisions, decisions...
  9. I have an OD Tapco SAW mag that I picked up by mistake at Knob Creek this weekend. Let me know if you are interested.
  10. Yeah Wash, it's me from KFA. Hoping to get to NH sometime for the fun! I still need to break in my Saiga 12 and make sure it works before the conversion!
  11. I'm about 45 min. from Knob Creek. I would be up for a S12 Forum shoot at KCR sometime if anyone is interested.
  12. Why not just build the "original configuration" or "as converted" version here instead of the current "as imported" version. Is there a reason that the converted (or restored) version of the Saiga 12 could not be made in the US and sold for a reasonable price? Keep the parts compatibility with current versions, but eliminate the need for a "conversion". This would also eliminate all of the "sporting purposes" nonsense from the equation. I am assuming that someone would have to be a licensee of Izhmash to build a "clone"?
  13. I would like to get two five rounders out of the next batch if possible. Thanks, gshack
  14. So this means K-Var has raised their prices by almost $200 in just about three weeks. They were selling at $489 around 1/25.
