I got factory threaded barrel on my Saiga 7.62
Mullet Man replied to etur's topic in Saiga 7.62 X 39
thats good to know! i was under the impression (self perceived apparently), that this 'feature' only showed up on brass. sidenote, i am assuming that these threads are the 14mm variety? -
dude thats awesome! i am giving my little brother one for Christmas too. picked up an all numbers matching round receiver for him. it arrived the other day, and it is sweet, i'm gonna have to get one for myself now haha. Happy Holidays too everyone.

to everyone saying they do not have stepped cases, do you all know that the step wont show up in steel cased ammo, only brass from what i understand. someone please correct me if i am wrong. i have yet to run brass thru mine but there is no indication of case neck swelling in any of my spent steel. also, i havent read anything on here saying the swelling/step will show up on steel. just wanted to throw that out there for the guys who might think they do not have the feature. i think the chances of people using brass cased x39 ammo is less likely then steel. -

well that shatters my dreams! i have a march of '09 build with the LHG notches, PG hole, dimples, but i'm not sure about the stepped casings since i have yet to run brass thru it. -
Wouldnt the Nato length stock be a little bit closer to the overall length of 1" being removed from the OE stock?

and the sweet vent on the roof of a Hyundai! you shoulda put a sweet dorcel fin up top since "Tiburon means shark"! lol OP; did you strain out all the 'turds' from the bedliner and just use the broth? i am curious to see this, i have some herculiner out in the garage left over from my Jeep project.

i dont understand what you mean by, "its moving in the opposite direction"? my questions/comments were based off of the thumb safety, manipulating the selector lever. i was thinking of a 2 piece design (for disassembly) with the thumb safety at the 3 o'clock position for fire and maybe the 5 o'clock position for safe. this would make it a little bit easier to pull the thumb lever down from the 3 o'clock fire position. as well as keep the thumb lever out of the grip area and more contained on the receiver, depending on how long the thumb lever was/is. down for safe and thumb lever in y

haha n/m after going through and reading the thread, i answered my own questions. funny how that works. looks good tho. too bad the thumb safety doesnt actuate the OE selector.

out of curiosity, Cobra, how much would it cost to do an S12 like that blonde girl you have? -
thanks for the response. i think to have a right rifle, i would be best to pay a little extra and leave it up to the pros. looks like it'll be a entry level DSA or a less expensive Enterprise/Imbel from Atlantic. you guys can continue on with the porn pics now.

very nice, i am envious. i am toying with an FAL purchase of some sort in the not to distant future, either an off the shelf model or a parts kit. what does it take to build a parts kit, as far as tools go, is it something a person could do in their garage with standard tools? it seems you could build one out of a parts kit for under $7-$800 (if not less) with a good upper receiver provided there are no special tools needed. also, if its possible without smithing tools, what should i be on the look out for when shopping parts kits?

topics says it all. hoping its 10-32. or opinions are welcome on what is the easiest way to upgrade for use with a 1-1/4" sling? (butt stock is taken care of, only need the forearm attachment point now)

yea and they dont make it anymore. or atleast dont list it on their site. i saw pics of one on page 3 of the x39 pic thread and my jaw dropped! dead sexy rifle! i am curious about the rear sight block and how it differs from all the rest?

i need to pick up some brass and see for myself. i have the dimples and factory PG hole but havent run brass thru it yet. anyone seen any with all 4 features? (PG hole, dimples, milspec chamber and 3rd axis location)

did you know that Camaros and Firebirds had fake dual exhaust too? yep, thats right! each exhaust manifold went from a bank of 4cyl down into a y-pipe where they joined together underneath the passengers front seat, ran all the way over the rear axle as one pipe, into a muffler where only at the point coming out of the muffler were they split into duals again. just saying. -

its not into the firewall, the rear 2 cylinders sit underneath the cowl. part of the design was to get a better balance front to rear by pushing the motor back, as well as to incorporate the 'wedge' design of all 4th gen f-cars. i agree, it is definately not smaller then a 4cyl Honda. while we were talking about gas mileage, the LT1 and LS1 cars with a 6-speed will routinely pull down 29+mpg's on the interstate. not too shabby for a 50+ year old push rod design. -

i passed the driver i was behind, to get to my exit, to let him check out the beast that was tailing him and he gave me a thumbs up. i guess he coulda just been happy about getting a toothless hummer from what appeared to be a lot lizard in the passenger seat. but i like to think it was from the shear baddassedness of the Pimptiva -

i've got a sweet lil red '89 carbed 5spd Festiva L sitting in my driveway. i've had 5 people either come by the house and or leave notes on the windshield wanting to buy it from me. i tailed a semi once for 190 miles at 55mph the whole way on the interstate and consumed just over 4 gallons of gas. i was quite proud of that, especially considering she only cost me $400 and some time to swap in the 5spd. shes a rough in the diamond but fires up when it needs to, much like the Saiga. EDIT; btw, Ford didnt make them, they were imported from Korea under Ford badges, none the less tho
