  1. Still on the first tank of fuel. This thing is just satisfying to drive. Check out the trip vs fuel gauge.... Normally driving my truck or jeep, I would have filled up twice going into the third fill-up at that kind of mileage.
  2. They were/are bringing in double plus, what they originally sold for.
  3. I can't believe what some people have paid for them, since they closed up shop.
  4. Ha, no doubt, atleast a crude hatchet, in desperate measures.
  5. First fill up today. Going to keep track of each fill up and mileage in a log book. I'm geeking out over it. Did the "fuel tank top off mod" where you vent the tank manually, to squeeze 2 extra gallons of fuel in there. Hard to say for sure, but they fucked up pretty bad. Not too mention it gives the EPA and tree huggers that hate diesels, reason enough to keep them off US soil. That Dirty Money episode about it is great. The part where they (a German company) were wanting to use a gas chamber with live people in it, was almost unbelievable. LMFAO
  6. I had a '92 jetta with the 2.0 + 5spd years ago and this thing is so much more fun to drive. And that '92 was a fun car to drive in itself. This one just offers so much more. Getting it tuned in two weeks for +25hp and +40tq. Supposed to get 3-4mpg better too. Word is VW TDI's are no longer available and will never be available for sale again the US as new vehicles, because of 'Diesel Gate'. Google it and find the show on Netflix under Dirty Money if you haven't seen it.
  7. I just picked up an '02 Jetta 5spd TDI for a work commuter, since I drive 140 miles round trip. She's got 235,320 miles on it and purrs like a kitten. First time ever driving one yesterday and I couldn't believe how peppy it is for 90 flywheel horsepower and 155 flywheel torque. Going to be doing some MPG mods to it. I'm hoping to see 55mpg as an average.
  8. I'll second that. Dude obviously has the internet. Google that shit and do some research, and quit whining.
  9. i don't have any particular info on that specific model. All i can say is if you can find one and it's priced right, always go for the dealer models, if possible. The ones sold at Lowes, Home Depot and Farm and Fleet (the "big box store" brands) etc. etc. etc., just are built to last like the dealer models are. A little research will tell ya where any make/model was sold from.
  10. Definitely not drastic. I sanded more on the sides and front than the rear. It was literally sanding to fit, no power tools. I changed the mag latch at the same time to an ambidextrous extended version (brand escapes me), I used the same one on my V12 too. I don't recall doing any fitting to it. But i also do not recall if there was a difference between it and the factory S12 latch (the factory latch MAY have been shorter). I'm sure i have mentioned that info in my postings on here, somewhere. You have to open up the receiver towards the front , otherwise the V12 mags will no
  11. Get you a small tractor and a vintage square bailer like this.... https://stlouis.craigslist.org/grd/d/john-deere-square-baler-14t/6650255859.html Till up your land and seed with alfalfa or whatever tends to do best in your area. Depending on moisture a square bail weighs about 55lbs. Gotta be able to move them. You can lease out your land too. That's not uncommon.
  12. I had an old neighbor that pulled two push mowers behind his rider. He just made up a spreader bar to keep them where he wanted. Looked hillbilly as fuck but it worked. You can find zero turns for a song these days. They've become so popular, they're everywhere for sale used.
  13. If all you're doing is mowing, then a zero turn is what you want. I'm on just over 5 acres and about 4 is grass. I can cut it in 2hrs with my 72" JD 797. High lift mulching blades help it look good too. Little too no clippings left on top.
  14. I would suggest looking into a Primary Arms RDS with the TRS25 mount pattern. Everything i have read about the new TRS25's says they are junk and not built to the "quality" that the older versions were. They just don't hold up like the old ones did. Bushnell somehow allowed the quality to take a shit, on what was once considered a quality optic for it's price range.
  15. Yeah, definitely wiping the sweat from my brow about the whole side rail shimming thing.....WHEW! Bad thing is, unless you want to swap uppers again, you're stuck with some slim choices, due to the mounting pattern of that RDS.
  16. Nothing. They function the same. A double hook won't fit in an S12 unless you modify it or the receiver to accept it. A double hook can have some potential advantages tho, if you aren't scared to modify it some.
  17. They all have the same drivetrains, whether its Silverado/Sierra/Suburban/Tahoe/Yukon. 4.8's, 5.3's, 6.0's, 6.2's backed by 4l60e's, 4L70e's, 4L80e's, 5L80e's etc. etc. I would stay away from the models with DoD (Displacement on Demand), AKA; cylinder deactivation. They can/may develop lifter and cam shaft problems. If looking at a vehicle with a 6.0, pay close attention to the exhaust manifold bolts at the head. They are very commonly known for breaking off, on the drivers side especially. The all aluminum 5.3's found in '05-'06-'07's with the 8th digit of the VIN a B, are really good m
  18. SOE (Special Operations Equipment) makes nice stuff but the lead time can be long. They are customizable, with different buckles and stitching. DeSantis makes heavy rigid thick leather carry belts that aren't too terribly expensive.
  19. I traded a PRO for an RMR so i can give it a try. Debating on trying the AK302M lower so i can swap it over to my 107UR when i want, or just sticking with my old 301. First world problems. Anyone want to buy an RS 30mm upper mount?
  20. Check out the new RMR Holosun 507 mount. http://www.akfiles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=344871
