what is this before i clean it off
Mullet Man replied to Bvamp's topic in General Discussion - Any topic is welcome here!!!
Its a few magazines for a particular rifle, one of them has the number 41 painted on it in red, picture taken at your moms house on a couch pillow possibly?. Seemed pretty obvious to me. Not sure if this thread was necessary. -
Mike, what parts are from billet?

I bet that mag release works just like it would in the traditional AK position. It's just left more susceptible to accidental release. -
This is for a rifle I presume since it uses the block and the protruding gas block pins. The S12 doesnt use the block, just mounts like the OE handguard. Someone on here did melt one, there are pics in some thread buried in the search feature of this site. Maybe try searching "melted tapco", that might turn something up. I had one on my 7.62 Saiga for quite some time and never had a problem. However, I never went berzerk with mag dumps. I do understand your concern tho. It will melt if you like turning money into noise, as fast as possible. But it should last a long time without issue (m

The FSB and GB should work fine. You don't need the RSB assembly. Don't forget a lower handguard retainer. You'll want to install that when the barrel doesn't have anything on it. Does your Saiga have the lower handguard retainer notches at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions? Some had them from the factory and some didn't. Before you drill out the brake, bullet test it to see if a 7.62 bullet passes through it.

S12 side optics mount vs Russian optics (weighing options)
Mullet Man replied to Slinky's topic in Saiga / AK Optics & Sights
Try focusing on the target and keep the red dot out of your eyes focus. Should appear clear and symmetrical then. That works for me. -

http://www.akfiles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=326974 Those blemished seconds were/are going for half off. I run my MRO on an AR, so i can't comment on your question. If memory serves me correctly tho, 'Horse' did a topic about it and it had like a lower 1/4 or 1/5 co-witness. However, i could be remembering incorrectly. -

Just FYI, RSRegulate has a blemished section on their sight under "other products". They have the 302m and 303m for $100, listed as factory seconds/cosmetic blems. -

I think the MI Gen2 30mm setup is damn near right on par price wise, with RS. EDIT1; What i see as a limitation to the new MI Gen2 mounts is stationary front to rear positioning, you're stuck with what they give you. I'm not sure how they compare height wise. Regarding RS Regulate, not sure why you pick the 303M when the 301M or 302M are lighter and lower profile. Unless you're planning on an actual scope that would require two points of attachment. EDIT2; With a non magnified red dot, forward positioning is the only way to go. Positioned over the 'magwell opening' in the receiver giv -
Archangel Promag AK furniture opinions
Mullet Man replied to DLT's topic in General Discussion - Any topic is welcome here!!!
You can do anything if the sun, stars and moon align. People don't realize that people carry concealed because they have blinders on, are buried in their cell phone or just don't think to look for some carrying a concealed pistol. The first two are a toss up for the majority. -

Concealed carry is another concern in the winter. Not only will you be wearing more or heavier clothing, but so will a perp. Need to be carrying something that does well in multiple layers of heavy clothing. Also its much easier to conceal a larger pistol in the winter too, bonus. -

C39V2 pawn shop find
Mullet Man replied to DLT's topic in General Discussion - Any topic is welcome here!!!
I would be looking for imported guns. Value is better. Quality is better. It's a Century gun, in a pawn shop, not much of a "find". It's not even a parts kit gun. $650 gets you pretty close to Vepr territory. Or even a used Arsenal SLR. This of course is just my opinion. -

Sounds logical. While they're at it, they should ban pistol braces from touching your shoulder too. Bi-pods, lets ban those since they helped stabilize his point of aim and made the boolitts fly flatter and straighter. Or maybe we can trade those to get AOW's off the NFA list. Hell yeah
