  1. i just made my own feed ramp/ bullet guide last night. i had a hell of a time getting the tap started as well. i was originally using a ratchet and socket to turn the tap like i normally would do but no such luck here. so i took a c-clamp and used it to provide the down force on the tap, while i turned it with a pair of vice-grips. it worked very well, i had it done in about 5 minutes, going very slowly while listening to what the tap was doing. crappy cell phone pic, didnt have my digi cam with me at the time. (i also used the same tap and bit combo from Lowes, house Kobalt brand 8-32)
  2. off topic... what mag bag is that, and where did you get it? also, is it a 5 or 6 mag bag? to the OP, would you post the link to that thread in here when/if you find it. thanks.
  3. not trying to hi-jack but it is related.... i was at a gunshow over the weekend and a couple of the vendors had some Golden Tiger x39. they all were saying that it fed better, was a bit more consistent and was cleaning running then Wolf that they have previously used. anyone have any input about Golden Tiger?
  4. i think there is a .pdf file on dinzags website, just click on the bullet guide and it should be in there. EDIT; here ya go... http://www.dinzagarms.com/downloads/bg_install.pdf you can open the bolt and have a look see right in front of the chamber.
  5. here is my recently completed restoration. Tapco SAW grip, Tapco G2 FCG, Tapco Warsaw stock, surplus 30, filed catch (Tapco gas piston and Dinzag bullet guide will be going in once i get some good bits), all parts from Carolina Shooters Supply. just your basic resto.
  6. i dont condemn it. i'm anxiously awaiting your testing reports. did you scuff or dimple the trunion before applying it? also, what moving car parts did you use it on?
  7. interesting. is this the stuff that is also available as an aluminum repair? (i think i have seen it in motorsport catalogs) can you get any better quality pictures? how did you form it to shape?
  8. just wanted to step in and ask, as i'll be doing my 1st resto in the near future. im curious as to what the micrometer and caliper would be used for? btw, thanks for the lists.
  9. must log in to view pricing 7.62 for $326 (16"), $333 for 20". .223 for $319. if they are in stock, i have no idea. Centerfire didnt have any in stock when i placed my order online 2 weeks ago, for the $349 plus free shipping deal. they couldnt tell me when they were going to get the next batch in. so i cancelled the order with them. i then ordered from Classic Arms the same day (last Thursday, in stock) for $349 plus $26 for shipping and it arrived at my FFL in 2 working days. i found that place above, AFTER my order had already shipped from Classic Arms. DOH!
  10. thank you i did order the PG nut, the different name threw me off.
  11. im out of state and cant look at my unopened packages but i think the SAW grip comes with the screw, all you should need is the PG nut IIRC. i ordered all the same stuff (less the mags and mounting kit for trigger guard) from CSS 2 weeks ago or so. showed up in 2-1/2 days
  12. FYI: x39 is $349 shipped from a large online dealer out of Kentucky, to your choice of FFL. just ordered one last Friday for myself my 1st online firearm purchase. i called the FFL, asked if they would do it, got the "OK" from them, supplied them with an address and fax of the seller. then i ordered the rifle online and printed out the order confirmation to take to the FFL.
  13. Hello all, What is this bushing? I ordered all the restoration parts, same as the OP above (except Warsaw stock and gas piston) but didnt order the PG bushing. Is this the same as the PG nut...or? Sorry OP, not trying to hi-jack.
