  1. I got a good deal on them I suppose, $26.00 a piece for the factory Russian 5 rounders, not the taiwanese look alikes. And I like the length of the five rounders compared to the 10 and 12 rnd mags, perfect for hunting and ammo conservation. It seems like when I have a five rounder in, I take my time shooting. When I have the drum loaded, its as fast as I can pull the trigger. I will probably buy a few 8 rounders, hopefully somebody will come out with a metal mag or double stack mags first. Plus, you can never have enough mags.
  2. Thanks. I might have to buy another one for a spare.
  3. Hey all, I picked up my S12 a week or so ago and I'm finally through with the restoration. I only ran into one problem while converting her, I broke a tap off inside the Ace internal receiver block with it was inside the gun. Luckily I was able to use a punch and rotate the tap enough to back it out of the block. Other than that everything went smooth. I ended up using an Ace stock, Ace folding mechanism, Tromix DIY Trigger Guard, Tromix FCG, Saw pistol grip, Gunfixer's gas plug, E-tac twisterpuc (standard), and a RemChoke adapter. I also aquired 9)Russian five rounders, and 2) MD-20
  4. CSS, MAA, MdArms, etc... Just look under the saiga 12 parts section.
  5. Sorry if I missed it somewhere, but does the saigatech trigger guards work with the bho?
  6. Glad I got in on the deal when I did.
  7. My link Just order all three of the twisterpucks and be done with it. Right now you can get the set for $50 with free shipping. I ordered mine a day or two ago, and it was shipped the same day. Ill report back once I receive them and put them through their paces. Will probably start with the standard and work my way up to the medium. I dont really have a use for the magnum, as I will be switching between low and high brass often.
  8. +1I'd also like to know if there would be issues running 2 3/4 shells with a magnum puck. Taken from their website: The Standard TwisterPuc is for all loads. The Magnum TwisterPuc is for full powered and Magnum loads. The Medium TwisterPuc is for all loads, but with a full flow exhaust design like the Magnum.

  10. I was holding it firmly and I am a good size fellow (at least my belly is) weigh 250,I think I did try setting 3 but the next time I shoot it I will pay more attention but this was not just light loads but some buckshot(Fiocchi)and med game loads. On setting 3, did it still not function properly? And by the way, I edited my previous post. Had a brainfart and shitted out the wrong info. Sorry.
  11. Its similar to limp-wristing a pistol. The shotgun is not being held steady/strongly enough and is causing the gun to soak up its own energy. Also, next time try gas setting 3, which is the highest setting, to see if your bulk Federal birdshot will function with the stock folded. Maybe the extra gas pressure will give it that extra oomph to cycle the rounds properly. Edited to Add: Had to rewrite my post. Had a brainfart.
  12. Thanks yall. I think I might go with the Ace 7.5" stock with 1" pad and folding adapter. Should put me right at 13" with it all, which is the same length as my XCR when adjusted to how I want it.
  13. Hello all, I recently purchased a Saiga 12 and I am currently in the process of getting all the parts together to restore it back to its proper configuration. I like the look of the DPH Arms 8.5" billet stock, but was wondering what the length of pull was without any rubber butt pad on. Also, If you happen to have it attached to a folding stock mechanism, that would be even better cause I think I will be getting the folding stock adapter as well. Thanks Jon
  14. Lower your gas setting to 1 or -1. The higher the numbers go up, the more gas you are letting in.
  15. Thanks although I'm not sure I'm grasping the above post..yet. I forgot to mention that I have installed the Tapco SAW pistol grip so hopefully the screw head will not interfere with the pistol grip. A standard tap will not make threads all the way down to the bottom of the hole, so you will need to buy a bottom tap as well so that you will give the screw enough thread to bite into. Now I dont know how long your screw is but im guessing its less than 1/2" long so if you use a standard tap you wont have alot of threads in your holes. Its up to you though. You might not need threads all
  16. Also, I forgot to mention, if you drill the depth of the screw, you will need to use a bottoming tap to ensure the threads go all the way to the bottom. You can get these at NAPA. Or once you start all the threads with the standard tap, you can find a nut that will fit that size, screw it on until you are above the angled starter portion of the tap and then use a grinder to remove all the material up to the nut so that your threads go all the way down. Or you can just drill the holes deeper.
  17. I would set the drill to a low to medium speed. No need to get all crazy when drilling and end up drilling the hole crooked. As for depth, what you can do is by using your screw, place it along side the end of your drill bit with the head of the screw contacting the bit. Where the screw stops, place a strip of masking tape about a 32nds or a 16th of an inch above the screw on the bit. As for the lube, it never hurts, especially when you tap for threads. It makes cutting easier as does a new tap. As one of the previous posters stated, when you start to tap, go in a little then back it out, and
