    new saiga

I've seen a video on Youtube from Izsmash that shows a new version of the Saiga. the model 30. it has a new magazine that does not have to be "rocked in" like your typical AK or Saiga. it also has cover with rail that folds up and a folding stock. anyone know if and when these will be imported? thanks
  2. I have a saiga 12 and it came with a standard Izshmash 5 round and surefire 10 round mag... the Russian mag has never given me any problems at all... but it only holds 5 rounds... the surefire seems to hang up and not feed properly halfway thru shooting the 10 rounds... I've kept it loaded for the past few months to break it in... put over 200 rounds thru it... sprayed some gun lube on the spring... any advice? besides throwing it away and just using 20 round drum... which I do plan on getting very soon. thanks.
  3. I only have 5 AKs in my collection so far with a wishlist at least 10 deep... if you could only choose 1 AK to keep the rest of your days which one would it be and why? I'm not sure myself... it would have to have folding stock, great choices for optics installation, quality build... not get too hot too fast like my wasr... I think I'd have to shoot all the ones on my wishlist to choose for sure...
  4. no problem... as long as she likes him and you don't mind his head in the crosshairs of a 50 cal Barret sniper rifle at all times... "just in case"... lol
  5. Daddy is about to submit FFL application to become arms dealer... he'll just show off some of his AK collection which by then will be in the dozens... ask the boy to pick out his favorite... then swear I'll empty multiple mags into him if he ever harms her...
  6. Hello all... I just wanted to announce my Christmas gift... the best one EVER!!!! my AK-2009... my Daughter Abagail Karina (AK) was born on 12/21 she weighs 7lbs 1oz... 20 inches long... I'm trying to figure out how to post her pic as she's the CUTEST baby EVER!!! I might be a little Baised... I'm about to sign her up for lifetime membership to NRA... I can't wait to teach her to shoot my saiga and my 5 other AKs as well as get her, her first pink rifle and take her hunting... This Daddy couldn't be happier this Christmas. He finally got a "Pink neck"... look out boys... NOT a girl to mess wi
  7. why get corrosive when you can get non corrosive for just a little more and you don't have to worry as much about cleaning it... it'd break my heart if I ran corrosive and didn't clean just right and saw some corrosion on any of my babies... I only run non corrosive in mine... you can find all sorts of deals online... just look around... there is one website called gun-deals.com where people post the best deals on different caliber ammo all over the country... that's what I do... good luck...
  8. ok.. lets go skeet shooting with the mag with the wheel... that would be interesting... I'd rather use a 20-30 round drum than such a long mag... why not have a double stack mag... it would much more practical than such a long mag... the technology for double stack has been around for a long time... just make it big enough for 12 guage... or atleast .20 or .410... that'd be cool...
  9. I also saw in the Houston Chronicle troops from Texas training with the AK... NOT the M4... I was so proud...
  10. relaibility speaks volumes!!! also not leaving your 5.56 calling card is important for special ops... get in, get done, don't get noticed
  11. I use the laser cartridge to sight in my scope for my AK as my scope is mounted to the cover and needs to be removed when I clean it... so it needs to be resighted after everytime I go shooting... anyways, it does make zeroing your scope easier... it is NOT 100% accurate but, does get you on paper real quick... ususally within 2 inches of center.. I start at 50 yards and then go to 100 yards... sighting is much faster with 2 people... once on paper one shoots aimed at dead center the other watches with sight... and makes adjustments based on where bullet actually goes... another method
  12. Yugo ammo is good and will shoot like any other ammo... it is usually corrosive... that means you need to clean it super well after shooting... and I've heard you need to use windex or something with ammonia to neutralize the corrosiveness... I personally don't ever use ANY corrsive ammo in my AKs... it would hurt too much to see rust and corrosion on my babies if I didn't clean them good enough... I feed them pretty much anything as long as it's noncorrosive...
  13. I'm working on getting a FFL and I understand you need a safe to store your "inventory" how good of a safe is needed to pass muster? they have ones at academy for $150 or so that have 2 compartments 1 will hold 14 rifles the other maybe 8-10 1,000 round cases of AK ammo... it's not fireproof or anything like that.... secure under lock and key... do you think that would pass? I don't want to spend thousands for a Fort Knox safe... fireproof safe... thanks
  14. super cool, I've always hated plastic mags... on my ak-47 and saiga... the factory one is good, the longer ones you really need to double check they are actually secure or they fall off... I would love to buy one if you make enough... metal ones just snap in and you are good to go...
