  1. Thanks Mike: This had been tuned and working great for quite some time. I disassemble and clean the Tac-47 every 300 rounds or so then of course re-tune the next outing. Tony and I had communicated in the past about what the proper ejection range should be between birdshot and slugs when using the auto plug. My gun was functioning properly within that range. I'm going to assume that I did not have enough gas for this cheap Rio. I will report back after one more attempt.
  2. Mike; I mean that I followed their video where Keith explains how to slowly turn the plug until you stop experiencing ejection/function issues ( with the cheapest ammo that you shoot ). In retrospect I'm wondering if I just needed another 1/2 - 1 full turn. I had more room than that to allow more gas. I will take her back to the range and retune. I'm real curious about the 5th round failures. I suppose both of the factory mag springs may be weakening. I have several 10 round Surefire's that I can test with. Tac-47 guys told me that Rio was known to have issues with the powder used and t
  3. Prior to my last two outings she has functioned 99.9% running Federal 7 1/2 to 8 shot. She has always run 100% with Remington Sluggers! My cheapest and most problematic ammo is Rio blue hull 7 1/2 shot. I've also been using the Tac-47 auto plug for sometime with proper ejection per a prior conversation with Tony. The majority of the failures are stovepipes and mostly on the last (5th) round using factory mags. Last night I alternated between two of these mags with same results. I had fired about 80 rounds since the Tac-47 had been cleaned. I clean the S17 after each outing. I fol
  4. fatty a: no problem. I was referring to the first post regarding the joke ( that I did not see ). The reason I posted is because I have a TROMIX S17 (8"). I've read a few posts where certain parts get beat up due to over gassing. The bolt carrier is my main interest. I love shooting slugs. I'm probably overly concerned. Thanks old coot.
  5. Didn't see the retracted joke. Not sure why you find the question so funny. My bolt is also fine. Hoping to add some spare parts. I happen to know of someone that recently sold out of all the spare bolts he had but I did purchase a new top dust cover. I realize how difficult it is to find. Guess I asked the wrong question on the wrong forum.
  6. Been looking but not having any luck locating a spare. Anyone have any suggestions? Thx!
  7. I purchased a spare dust cover from Tom. He is a good guy to deal with IMO.
  8. Have you confirmed the two gas ports are in the proper position (on top)? Mine moved once and that stopped her cold.
  9. Yes the top cover. Thanks for the PM.
  10. I'm not familiar with Legion. Can you provide more contact info?
  11. Thanks Spartacus. I searched on GB prior to posting and did not find one. Good suggestion to reach out to Tony.
  12. Thanks! I did Google but did not find any. I also do not have the ability to modify anything. Gotta find the factory cover.
  13. Does anyone happen to know who has these in stock? Thanks & Happy New Year!
  14. I called Tac-47 today to ask this exact question. I was asked which ammo I was using. I explained mostly Federal bulk and Rio (7 1/2 shot). Patrick said to take it apart when firing Rio every 500-600 rounds and for Federal 7-800. I had about 650 rounds so I took it apart. But before doing so I took my calipers and measured the depth of the screw and noted how it was pointing when it was fully seated. It was pretty dirty.

    8" or 12"?

I have the 8" S17 and have not had a single issue with hair burning. Go with what you've always wanted.
  16. Doesn't anyone else have a SBS with the Auto plug?
  17. I have a Tromix S17 8" barrel. I recently installed the Tac-47 and adjusted it per the video the company has posted on YouTube. A few friends and I decided this test would indicate if the Auto Plug was venting any excess gas properly to prevent our receivers from getting beat up. 1) The factory plug was installed on setting #2 and I chose Federal bulk 7 1/2 since this is the weakest 12 gauge I will run. The expectation was that these shells would eject 4-6 feet. That was exactly where they landed. 2) I then switched to the Tac-47 and ran the same ammo with the shells landing 3-4'. 3) Keepin
  18. +1 for Tony. He found the problem and she will return home tomorrow. He said the problem was: "The underside of the disconector had a casting ridge/bur right down the center of it where it limits out on the trigger floor. That bur slowly wore down allowing the disconector to cam forward a bit more. I removed the bur and reset the engagement surfaces." Thanks again Tony for the awesome service!
  19. I'm hoping Tony can confirm these photo's are a correct function test: Hammer shown in forward position Trigger held to rear with hammer cocked to rear Trigger released with hammer moving slightly forward Pull trigger and hammer fully forward Hoping Tony can confirm this is functioning properly and if so why my SRT is sticking. Please advise.
  20. Trigger Update: same issue today starting with the first mag. Back to the prior cleaning. I sprayed brake cleaner all around the base of the trigger with very little draining out but I had first cleaned with qtips, etc. I did not have any compressed air to blow out the area. My function test was as follows: holding the trigger fully back push the hammer to the rear to where it engages. Release trigger then hammer move forward very slightly. Complete test by pulling the trigger and hammer moves fully forward. Is this correct? After cleaning tonight I did use a can of compressed air but
  21. There was lots of debris and lube on the sides and below the trigger. My bad for not cleaning this area properly. I've decided that I've been over lubing as well.
  22. After cleaning the FCG everything functions tests properly.
  23. I spent the last two days adjusting my TAC47 Auto Plug ( really like it!). Prior to today I shot a little over 300 rounds ( cleaning after each outing ). Today I began experiencing my SRT trigger sticking after about 75 rounds. I'm wondering if I've not been cleaning down in the trigger area/springs. Anyone else having these issues?
  24. Gunfun: I've been away from the forum since creating the MD Arms drum ammo PDF file. Thank you for taking this to a new level. I realize this is an old file but I did add three items that we tested recently.
