  1. I have used the Tac-47 plug on the last 1800 rounds. By far the majority being Federal low brass. Factory OEM springs only. She loves Remington Sluggers.
  2. I slowly hand cycled and as I slowly let the bolt go into battery it hung up. If I let it slingshot forward it does not. Unfortunately I’m not overly mechanically inclined ( but ever learning ). Do these pics help:
  3. Thanks. I wasn't planning on installing the new bolt. I actually stumbled on the new spare parts before I noticed the peening. I will take some pics and post. I wondering if I should Dremel that area?
  4. Tony did not reference anything to do with safety. He did refer me to R&R. I don’t believe I mentioned I had an inbound Russian complete bolt. What are your thoughts on continuing to use it? Are the Molot bolt heads plug n play? I do know where I can purchase on but it’s not complete. I find it interesting that my friends S12 is showing the beginning of the same damage. He only has 50 rounds fired! Thanks for all your help and suggestions!
  5. No problems hand cycling. No issues with bolt going into battery either. I sent the pics to Tony @ Tromix. Here is his reply It looks to be raised up a bit which could prevent the rim from getting down under the extractor. My guess is that you have literally worn out the bolt shaft where it goes down into the body, allowing the bolt head to wobble around so bad it's hitting the edge of the barrel. That fitment is rather poor even when the bolts are brand new. Note: I sent these pics to a buddy that has only fired 50 rounds thru his S12. He has the same issue star
  6. I found my notes on cleaning frequency. At the time I was shooting Rio and Federal low brass. I was told to clean the Rio every 500-600 rounds and the Federal 700-800.
  7. Thanks Veprz! The price was so good that I scored both. Did you see my post earlier with the damage starting to my bolt head?
  8. I have the opportunity to purchase a as new Russian Saiga 12 bolt assembly and a new in package complete recoil assembly. I'm not sure if either or both are good spares to have. Can anyone comment on what a fair price is in today's market? Thoughts on having these as spares? Thanks
  9. A bit off topic but does anyone know where to purchase a S12 ejector and extractor?
  10. I’ve taken mine apart and cleaned it many times and I did have the spring, etc fly out once as did the OP. I did speak with a tech at Tac-47 a long time ago about cleaning their auto plug. IIRC every 300 rounds shooting cheap birdshot.
  11. Mine doesn’t. I did read there is a version 2.
  12. Thx! Good to know. I was cleaning mine every 100-200 rounds.
  13. I’m curious how often users of the Tac-47 have found the need to clean and re-tune the plug? Possibly cleaning the gas puck may be required more often. The other day I began a range session with a clean gun and clean Tac-47 plug. After tuning I had several stove pipes. I believe they were caused by my Surefire 10 rounder. After cleaning the gas puck and the Tac-47 I re-tuned (second range visit ). I used a Saiga factory 5 rounder and she was flawless running Federal birdshot. I have a Tromix S17 with 8” barrel.
  14. Update: Bushnell replaced my TRS-25. I took it to the range to zero @ 25 yards with Remington Sluggers. Last night a buddy and I put 40 rounds of Federal 8 shot and 10 rounds of Rem Sluggers. All is well.....
  15. Bushnell is shipping me a new unit. I did confirm ( “they say” ) it will also hold up to 44 mag recoil. It should arrive in a week. I will hopefully have a good range report soon. If not I will check out the PA optic.
  16. Thx for the PA suggestion. Waiting to hear from Bushnell.
  17. Does anyone know what Tony used on the threads? Has anyone removed theirs?
  18. Hoping the next TRS-25 performs as advertised.
  19. I guess I’ve gotten used to the recoil of this 8” barrel. She sure loves the Remington Sluggers.
  20. Update: the TRS died on the 12th slug! Back to the mothership for a replacement
  21. Spare dust cover & RDS-25 & new RS mounts. NO shims needed!
  22. MM: not your bad at all. Your advice has gotten me this far. It’s been a good education!
  23. Shipping the 2 mounts back to Aimsurplus. Ordering the front bias mount + the AKMD mount for the Bushnell TRS-25 which has already been ordered. More of a process than I ever imagined.
