  1. I'm still trying to figure out what the point of a shell holder would be on a mag fed semi-auto?
  2. ^ First off for your first post you sure picked an old topic to reply to. Secondly you didnt just compare a 50BMG to a 12ga did you? You were kidding right? finally you said "I have owned a Saiga and got rid of it years ago. It just didnt cut it for me. Not bashing it but just didnt suit my needs/wants." Just curious what didnt "cut it" for you?
  3. Ok, as you can see I dont know what I'm talking about. So let me rephrase that. What is the difference between getting a gun transfered on lets say a form 4(besides CLEO signature) and setting up a trust? Thanks
  4. I have been thinking of getting a SBR/SBS and was wondering what the difference is between transfering from a form or setting up a trust? cost? legal differences? I have tried to read up a bit but my computer works in slow motion and it takes forever to search around. Any links to other threads about this or links to any info reguarding this would be appreciated.
  5. I just got off the phone with K-var tech support and he insured me that it cycles both 2 3/4 and 3in shells. Can anyone who has one let me know how she runs before I buy one. I am curious to know if it cycles certain ammo better than others. Thanks
  6. On the the link I posted for the SGL41 it states this: *IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The SGL41 is designed to be used with high pressure, 2 ¾" and 3 ammunition only. Low pressure ammunition (2 ½" ) will fail to cycle your shotgun. If it only cycles high pressure shells thats fine by me as long as it does so using both 2 3/4 and 3in shells? Can anyone who owns a SGL41 let me know if it does cycle both shell lengths? I will try and contact K-var. Thanks for the replies

    SGL41

I am fairly new to saigas as I only have one S12. I was looking into getting a saiga in 410 for the kids to convert when I ran across the SGL41. I was just wondering what everyones thoughts were on these? The cheapest S-410 I could find was $400 but when you factor in the rest of the parts for the conversion it might be close to the same price to just buy the SGL41 I found for $550?
  8. I was just wondering. If you were to put a choke on a 8-12in barrel saiga would the increased pressures(at end of barrel) be too much? By shortening the barrel you are increasing pressure, flash etc. Would putting a restrictive device like a choke cause any problems? Thanks
  9. +1 to the kriss. Have you ever checked out the TDI Kriss mentioned above? Worth looking at for a short barreled .45 cal.
  10. Your lucky sunnybean no snow in MT where you live. I have about a foot at my place
  11. At the end of your gas block there is a knob with a 1 and 2 setting. Just press in the detent pin and select which setting you want. note: Tighten the knob all the way down then back out to which setting you want. Number next to detent pins is what setting your on.
  12. I have some noob questions for you saiga guru's as I have never converted any saiga rifle/shotgun. I have been thinking of getting a semi auto rifle in .308 and was wondering what all is involved in converting a S308? What would the approx cost be to convert? What all parts do I need? If there are any links or previous posts to get me going in the right direction I would appreciate it. THANKS
  13. Anyone know of a solid way to mount optics with HK sights and Galil charging handle on a sbs?
  14. Thanks Kross that is exactly what I was looking for. When are going to make a rail to fit the 12in saiga?
  15. I am going with the non-slotted poly so it shouldn't add that much length to the barrel. As for optics I don't plan on using any(going with XS tritium sight system) but that may change down the road. Is there any way to mount optics and still use the galil charging handle?
