  1. I seriously considered the Glock 31 [357 SIG] as my primary pistol before selecting the S/A XD in 357 SIG.The beauty of the 357 SIG is that it is easily converted to 40 S&W by replacing the barrel and/or recoil spring. This gives you 2 pistols in one.I had rather have a round over penetrate than under penetrate into a target. After all, Is not the reason for a weapon to immediately stop hostile threats? What if you are dealing with someone in several layers of clothing and heavy winter coat? There are lots of factors which affect the ability of a round to penetrate a target. The 40 S&W
  2. No, they are not. They are no more made made to "Springfield Specs" then a Sears 12 gauge is made to Ted Williams, the ball player's specs. It is just a Croatian Pistol that Springfield stuck their name on to sell to the rubes when it would not sell on it's own merit. It is not proven, and at the slow rate of adoption by the pros, it never will be. It is a damn good Croatian Pistol that is every bit equal to the Glock and other Glock wannabes. The Glock is an Austrian pistol that is IMPORTED to the USA.There are a lot more of us civilians than there are the "pros" and we are buying
  3. So Air Marshalls use the furthest penetrating common handgun caliber in flying aluminum tubes? I'd figure they'd have .45's with frangible bullets. You know so uh... they don't kill everybody aboard. A few bullets are not going to kill everybody on board but a successful terrorist bomber could kill everybody on board.I'm not sure what load they use but they could use special loaded ammo for the particular function of aircraft cabins. The odds a missed shot hitting a hydraulic line or wiring bundle and bring down the aircraft are SLIM.
  4. Hi-Point C9 ---would not shoot straight no matter what I or others tried.
  5. The majority of DUTY pistols do not have 5.5" length barrels. These are realistic ballistic numbers for the Glock or SA XD. My link
  6. You can add the Oklahoma Highway Patrol to the list of 357 SIG users. The 357 SIG Pistol has a big advantage over a 38 super in that it is easily converted to a 40 S&W if so desired..The 38 Super is the novelty cartridge and the 357 SIG is well on the way to becoming "The Standard" for Law Enforcement. The Tennessee Highway Patrol issues the Glock 31 [357SIG] to their officers. How many U.S. State Police Forces are issuing 38 supers to their officers? I rest my case. I 'll gladly use an auto loading round [357 SIG] that matches the 357 mag revolver cartridge in the 125 grain JHP category.
  7. For Glock or SA XD owners you can convert your 40 S&W to the 357 SIG by purchasing a barrel and recoil spring. There are aftermarket conversion kits available. The 357 SIG ammo presently is more expensive than 40 S&W but that should change as more people and police depts. choose this caliber. The Double Tap Ammo in 125 JHP 357 SIG produces 1500 ft./sec from a 4.5 inch barrel. This is 600 + ft.lbs muzzle energy.
  8. The poll is closed due to popular demand.
  9. Where is the 357 SIG in this handgun Poll? Numerous State Police Forces are using the 357 SIG including Oklahoma-Texas-Tennessee as well as the US Secret Service and US Air Marshals Service.Springfield Armory XD or Glock 31 are both good pistols chambered in this round.
  10. Does the .223 Saiga leave the swelled mark [ring] on the case neck after it is fired? Thanks.
  11. Stick with the 7.62 x 39 and you only have to stockpile 1 type of Ammo for your rifles.
  12. Matte black or flat black does not reflect as much light as a chrome finish does and this is a good thing in certain situations.
