  1. I just want want the bolt carrier/gas system from the Ak-107 and I'm happy..
  2. Well, in the last few days Mt. Pleasant has had some interesting events.. Group of young black males with bandanas over their faces have committed FOUR armed robberies in the last month. Harris Teeter, Food Lion, Bilo, (grocery stores) and a restuarant. I have the misfortune to be working in a store in the vicinity and wondered about my options/neccessity for self defense.. Since they havn't killed anyone, I suppose maybe the best thing to do is whatever they say and let the police sort it out.. I'm not allowed to carry while at work but my pistol is kept in my car.. They tend to roll around i
  3. Wow.. I didn't realize norinco hunters had galil looking recievers.. Damnit, I need one now.. crap.
  4. yeah.. any shotgun can fire the HE round I'm pretty sure.. If rapid fire is a problem for the HE, fire it SLOWLY on semi auto when using those rounds rather then develop a garbage gun that has a full auto speed less then most people can fire semi. Anytime you use HE I'd hope you practice caution to the extent that it wasn't neccesary to give you an overly heavy innefficient gun for safety reasons.
  5. Try shooting it with irons.. just to help narrow down factors. I don't really see how it's possible to be the guns fault but you may as well be sure. If the same inconsistency is there with irons I'd be really suprised.
  6. 9 out of 11.. I hadn't realized the goverment was lyng quite as badly as it is about unemployment rates.. and I missed the medicare vs interest one
  7. I really want to see this done now... and the gold ak in lord of war was also a saiga, if you've seen it.. Most people have I guess
  8. if it will cycle walmart bulk packs it will cycle federal.. That's the best bet. The other two are much less likely to work out. You should be fine to shoot all ammo if you have no chokes, if you get the polychoke or a choke attatchment just make sure its set for slugs before you damage it. edit: and editting doesn't raise your post count- he posted in the south carolina section
  9. I like my wasr but the saiga is in it's own class. If you get the saiga you will be a proud owner of one of the best made AK's in the world straight from the most famous factory (plus the conversion work, which is easy, will make you damn proud and make you have a better understanding of your rifle).. If you get the wasr you'll have an ak- but you and everyone else will know it's the shittiest one out there. Also it means when an AR guy says your gun is inaccurate he'll actually be kind of right (some exceptions), where as with a saiga your gonna suprise him.
  10. meh, they're going to spend billions to replace the most successful rifle in the world while Izhmash is facing bankruptcy? I'm not really sure how your going to improve on the kalasnikov until rifles as we know it are redesigned.. As is it has accuracy almost on par with it's range, a low production cost, incredible reliability, and is simple to use.. Unless we start using lasers or drastically different rounds I just don't see any potential rifle really taking further advantage of rifled weapons enough to justify the cost of replacing the AK.
  11. Another vote for freedom- personally I'd prefer to wear protective clothing while biking and a helmet.. But it's your choice. Tired of goverment making decisions for us. I don't see where they plan to stop either..
  12. I'm always suprised by stingrays.. Hate catching them because I don't eat them and that tail is a pain to avoid.. but they can definately fight. Havn't done much fresh water except for bass and cat fish.. Need to get into it more. Also agree with you on the fly fishing. I probably never would have got into it but my grandpa really loves it. It's got a lot of skill involved and it's really active (for my tastes anyway).. I do enjoy it but I prefer to relax and have a beer when I want to fish. Never have a hand free fly fishing =(
  13. I'm real lazy.. I just grab some walmart rod/reel combo- don't really care which and bottom fish with live bait (and like 80lb test braid- the only thing I really spend much on, comparitively anyway). One of my main rods I actually caught fishing.. think it's a shimano- was covered in barnacles but I cleaned it up and it works great. Basically I sit, drink, enjoy the view and if a nice drum or trout hits it's a great day. Reason for the 80lb test is with this kind of lazy fishing often they would snag a barnacle on the dock or an oyster bank before I got to the line.. This way I can keep the d
  14. Yeah, I might get it converted someday just for the better trigger. I've got to save my money. $500 for the optics and $300 for the mount and rails and I'm tapped out for a while. If I got it converted I would have a professional do it. I know people here are big on DIY but if it wasn't perfect I wouldn't be happy. I see Arizona armory does nice work and charges about $230 plus extras. But for now I'm digging the adjustable skeleton stock. this is one DIY that you can't really mess up. Long as you have the right parts everything sits where it should regardless of who put it in ther
  15. Cleary fake, here's the real seal team 6! What, you thought you could post MW without someone bringing up halo?
  16. it is very loose fitting, but very comfortable. The bottom handguard does seem very solid when it's all together but I'd be wary of mounting anything on the upper without doing some fitting to tighten it up.
  17. yeah, heres a topic with some pics of it compared to the Kvar- I prefer it. It's kind of a loose fit until you put the upper handguard on as well- and even then the upper is a bit loose but there are tutorials about for fixing that I believe- some using tin foil to pad it. Not enough that I care since I'm not mounting anything on the upper. on mine the upper is very stable side to side, just has a bit of play front to back. Anyway, heres the topic where I did a mini review and put some pics up. http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/topic/50471-new-hogue-furniture-available-soon/page__p__470
  18. Have it, it's very comfortable, made of the same stuff as the pistol grip and has a nice heat shield. You can get the upper gas tube at a lot of places, apex comes to mind (they have a lot of surplus parts)
  19. I really thought this was going to be a thread bitching about PSL's.. instead I see the second coolest PSL I've ever seen.. Great job!
  20. hate to keep bumping my shit but I want to put an order through and want to know what I can buy for it (in a hurry to put an order through because I hate having one mag).. From what I can tell it's a military slide, just want to know what wilson extractors will work in it.
  21. Probably going to be ordering a new extractor from wilson- problem is they all have different model types and I have no idea what type of 1911 I have.. are they interchangeable?
  22. please excuse the lousy picture- it doesn't seem to match either extractor. Also to note is while the wilson looks as though it corners off at the front the main body of this ejector is a solid block until the end- the top part just continues past the main part. Pins a bit tough so I havn't removed it.. have to go somewhere this evening, maybe I'll pull it apart fully later
  23. Hope they restore her- one of the few survivors from a time when our country gave it their all for freedom.
  24. It's easy enough to tell based on import markings if its legit or not- and if it is then you should jump on it in a heartbeat if it's priced like a century build. Nice car btw
