  1. EDIT: .308 fixed.. mosin still in need of a redneck fix Well, me and my buddy both got scopes for our guns, me for my saiga .308 and him for his mosin nagant.. and we both had disapointing results. My scope on the .308 at highest height setting (or 100 yards) was off by 4 feet at 100 yards.. Couldn't find anyway to raise the sight.. My buddys mosin nagant shot low by about 8 feet, he had to aim so high his scope couldn't see the target at all.. Likewise, his scope couldn't adjust any more.. Any recomendations for adjusting them further? Here are pictures of the two of them so you can g
  2. just an update, back from the range and my saiga is now flawless.. drilling your gas holes shouldn't take more then about 15 minutes if you have an issue
  3. if you decide to rebore out the gas ports, there are a lot of threds here that can help, but it's a rather hard process to explain so it'd be best if you find an older thread.. Hopefully it won't be an issue for you, but I'm literally heading out to test mine after a second time redrilling the gas holes
  4. sorta going back to the one gun that does it all idea.. Gonna say I doubt many people actually expect to get one gun to do everything, the point for me often is getting one that will do the most for the money.. So the .308 wins for me of the two. Lightweight, reliable, and reasonably accurate for a fair price makes me feel like it works in more conditions for less money. If I can only have one gun, I want to cover as many scenarios as I can. Just my thoughts, but I would be proud to own an M1 as well.
  5. well thank god for these people. they are the ones that will likely get busted and cause a bunch of fuss about how bullshit it all is so we don't have to. Also if a stupid law is ignored to a ridiculous degree it becomes dificult to enforce... Their lack of knowledge is astounding, but beneficial as long as your careful to make sure you fall in line with the rules. Laws that are worded so badly they are hard to understand are retarded anyway, if not for this forum and other people translating 922r, I'd have no clue what the hell it was about.
  6. nifty, but too abuseable.. Don't like the idea of king barry knowing all my guns and where they are so he can sieze them, or anyone else for that matter.. also not much for protecting yourself if they are sending a HERE I AM signal out the whole time. I can count just fine thanks.
  7. Yeah.. Unions might make life better for union workers in the short run.. but lets be honest, coming out of the evil "robber barons" and other industrialists we were one of the strongest financial companies in the world with one of the better lifestyles comparitive to the rest of the world.. Let's not forget "Robber Barons" lived luxorious lifestyles filled with services and possessions that they paid hard working americans for, increasing demand which by default increases wages and overall lifestyle regardless of the difference in income. With the fall of people like the robber barons and the
  8. looks nice.. been thinking about tryng out owning a kel tec for a while now (since a gun show I went to where they had them at ridiculous prices, but I didn't know enough about them to buy one ).. Heard mixed reviews, some say they are garbage, but the vast majority say they are some of the nicest light weight reliable guns about... Hope to get my hands on one of their guns soon..
  9. no one cares here either.. it's compliant anyway, but I've never heard of anyone actually being checked.
  10. going back to the main topic, which makes me feel completly off topic now.. The OP basically stated that he was frustrated with his AR in 5.56 and had a good deal on an AR in .308.. I wouldn't choose the AR for .308, but if you have good deal lined up, gonna say go for it, you want a .308, an AR is available, sounds fun. Hope you enjoy it!
  11. 500 is still cheap for a military grade semi automatic rifle.. in fact, it's still cheaper then anything else.. Maybe it's expensive for a wasr but for a good quality ak-47 or a good quality semi auto rifle for that matter, it's a great price.
  12. don't know what exact model, but it just looks like your standard tube magazine shotgun altered with a detacheable magazine, seen it done to remingtons and the like... I might be wrong but no one had commented so I figured I'd at least say what I thought. edit: yarp beat me with a better answer.. and summed up what I was thinking in the process.. I thought it looked like a remi with a box mag
  13. my first ak was a lancaster.. nice gun.. I'd recommend it.. Made with a nodak spud reciever and romy g parts kits.. really really nice guns.. plus lifetime warranties are fun, if redundant on an AK..
  14. I try to buy american, but I'm not really willing to go out on a limb and waste all my money in a competitive enviorment and be paralyzed by ethics- I only buy american if the price is comparable (and I buy american cars only)... My feeling is that until our goverment figures crap out and work with import taxes and also making our production more affordable (some unions might not appreciate it), our goverment is the one hurting our product, and it's not my responsibility to waste my time and money correcting a mistake people can't be bothered to vote to fix.. But no, I won't settle for a m
  15. Nice kill! Makes me want to go hunting.. eating last years deer steak tonight.. freezers almost empty though
  16. probably wouldn't walk around with it in public.. but yeah, most of us taken them off to slap a new one on.
  17. nice, I like the camo furniture too! I'm hoping to get out there with my AK or saiga .308 and take one down..
  18. warranty is probably a smart move.. especially given that it's really not functioning at all I pulled my gas tube off last night for the first time (pretty easy and I was hammered) and am going to redrill it and hope that works, unfortunately the commies didnt leave me enough room for a 4rth hole the way they spread out my three.. so just gonna widen them all a tiny bit, I must be just on the threshold since it's about a 1/10 FTE for me. And WS, just wanted to say thanks for pointing out you hhadn't heard of an overgassed s12.. you make a good point that got me thinking, and I havn't eithe
  19. lancaster uses nodak spud recievers, some of the highest quality american made ones there are to be had (so yeah a copyright would suck).. and then theres the romy g parts kit as well, but my point being they would not benefit from people coming down on liscensing since that would probably take out their reciever manufacturer.
  20. high brass too.. those slugs? look just like the federal slugs I played with a while back
  21. I think that your AR buddies like the .22LR conversions for ARs because .22LR is so damn cheap to shoot, not because they think it's a more effective cartridge. you'd think that.. but they literally prefer it due to the lack of sound and recoil.. maybe my AR friends are just failures.. They sit at the table next to me plinking.. and I comment on their rounds, and they tell me "but it's so quiet and I have no recoil!". Fuck that, if it comes to it, your not going to be alive to hear me shoot you and my recoil is manageable. Anyway, I sort of highjacked the topic, my point was to vent th
  22. my thoughts exactly.. mainly because Lancaster builds a masterful example of an AK47.. But this could mean opening the doors for more import of SAIGA brand.. and hell, maybe even some legislation changes on imports/922R.. One can only hope.. I have to wonder IF they do get screwed what this does to their life time warranties..
