  1. that buffer should never come out or pop back in place on it's own you're going to have to pull that apart and check, here's what it should look like with the little tab on back
  2. i wouldnt worry about the buffer, it took me thousands of rounds before i broke my buffer. When it broke, it was just the small tab in the back. I probably could have just jb welded it back together, but parts were a lot more available back then, and cheap, so I just bought a bunch for spares. I know Chris at spas12.com used to sell buffers, he may still, I haven't checked it out in a long time, he may be the one selling the ones you referred to.You might want to email him. I wouldn't imagine that gun has been shot much, the folders are very painful to shoot if you get your face right down
  3. I don't know, maybe cut the right side one off completely since I never use it, and put that on the left side. The left side one is big, probably doesn't need to be that big, but sure makes it hard to miss in a hurry. I'd probably also have it finished, maybe this winter, who knows. I kind of want to work on a left side safety too.
  4. here you go, gun with magwell, then looking into the mag well, here's where you need to do a little milling, it's not much. then mags, left side is unmodified surefire, right side is a modified one in each of the pics, takes about 5 mins to cut em with a belt sander, about an hour to get them right if you use a dremel. mags are plenty stable, don't fall out, and reloads are much faster.
  5. friend of mine did his saiga in battleship gray, came out real nice. I dont think he was looking for that color, he bought silver moly resin, sandblasted the receiver, sprayed on the moly resin, baked it in the oven, never removed the barrel. comes out real close to battleship gray. So if you want to do that color, you might want to look at moly resin before you look at just paint, the moly resin will hold up a lot better than paint. to get the barrel out, you're going to need a press. No way are you just removing the pin and pulling it out by hand. like the other guys said, tape it off i
  6. congrats on your UTG rail, I hope you enjoy it. I've also never understood the hate towards this particular rail system. I have one on my Ak47, it does what it's supposed to, hold the propoint on the gun, and make the forend feel more comfortable than the stock one. Even if you were to hang all that stuff on there like the picture, what's it all going to add? 2? 3 pounds max? If you can't hold up 2 or 3 pounds on an already relatively light gun you should spend more time at a gym and less time bitching about a product online. As for cowitnessing, I could care less about that. I'm a
  7. I just recently bought the exact grip you posted the pic of. Liked it, but didn't like it so much on my saiga12s, it's smaller than the tapco saw grip, I liked the bigger grip on the bigger guns, so stuck that grip on my ak47 instead, works fine there, and more appropriate for the gun that size.
  8. I originally had AGP mag wells put on two saigas, then when the higher cap surefires came out, I had to get the magwell fit to one of them to try that. I like the surefire better because it fits mags that hold more ammo, and you can get away with a less precise reload and get the mags to lock in easier. Modify the 5 rounders correctly, and they will fit in either Modifying mags is real easy with a belt sander. It'll take a long time with a dremel.
  9. I have one since I do a lot of skeet and trap shooting. Yes, they are worth the money if you're going to shoot a lot of shotgun. Largely due to the case feeder alone, the machine is a lot faster than the Mec 9000G of course, it's like double the price of a 9000g also. It does what it's supposed to do and does it quickly. You'll need patience figuring out how to set it all up just right the first time, after that, it's easy.
  10. doesnt screw up a gun case at all works great, took me a while to get it installed because I never thought of using a slave pin to retain the spring it has, but when i finally got it together it was a huge improvement. I'm using it in conjunction with the new JT magwell for the surefire mags. I did have to hit the right side of the trigger guard (Tromix DIY guard) some with the dremel so the release wouldn't rub on it at all, but I didn't mind doing that.
  11. i've shot a lot of skeet and trap with my saigas, my club even has a saiga summer skeet league because so many of us have them. but when it comes to trap or 5 stand you need a choke, i bought the factory set of chokes for something like $85, comes with cylinder, mod and full, mod has worked just fine on trap. if the wobble course you're talking about is wobble skeet, you dont change from a cylinder choke, you try to break the targets around the same spot as regular skeet, the only thing that changes is the elevation they are flying, they are still the same distance away from you
