  1. Has anyone had experience with the gas screw moving due to recoil? Finally got mySBS tuned, but the screw is shifting every 8-10 rounds.
  2. Anyone using a poly on an SBS? If so, what length? Worth the $? If so, anything that you dont like about it?
  3. Anyone have a TAT that they would be willing to loan/rent out? I have a die on the way,but the 12ga TAT is BO at CSS till mid June.
  4. I am planning to SBS my S12 for HD purposes. In reading through the SBS Tech forum, it appears that the 12" is the best combination of length, muzzle blast, velocity, etc. In order to stay as close to the 12" as possible, I am not planning to add a muzzle device. Other than for end of barrel protection, am I missing another critical reason to add one?
  5. Thanks Cobra, I will mention this to my machinist.
  6. How are most people adding the left hand bolt, welding or drill and tap? I understand that the bolt carrier steel is a tricky weld.
  7. Where/can I get a replacement bolt carrier? I am considering taking mine to a machine shop to have the left side tapped for a charging handle and want to have a contingency plan if all doesnt go as planned.
  8. So, I got a little overzealous removing material to make my mags fit the well and now the front sits too low to feed correctly. Anyone else make the same mistake and find a suitable solution (besides buy new mags and try again)? Is there an epoxy that will hold firmly? I tried a 2 part from the auto store and it dropped off when I inserted the mag.
  9. I thought I WAS using a good punch. Stanley brand, which was good once upon a time. Bought a solid punch a HD, then drove it the rest of the way out. The gas block moved nicely from there. Next issue, was that I couldnt get the thread protector off. Stuck a 1x2 in the mag well for leverage and 'rastled with the wrench. Ended up rounding off the corners of the thread protector and when I muscled it, it actually deformed the thread protector AND barrel . . . atleast I dont recall it being oval before I started. Banged on it bit with a hammer to get it close to round, then cut the TP off wit
  10. Did anyone else bend several punches trying to remove the top pin? Still havent gotten it out yet. Am I missing something?
  11. Long time listener, first time caller. Can someone give me advice or point me to a link that discusses how to change mags with the bolt closed on the S12 or is this a no go? I have seen the article on polishing the bottom of the bolt and will address that, but I am not even close to being able to insert a mag at this point. I dont think a few mils of grinding and polishing is going to get me there. For what its worth, this is a brand new gun that I just picked up from Peachstate about a month ago. I have converted it and it shoots great (wont cycle birdshot, but I dont really care).
