  1. Thanks for the replies. I just realized that they are the same company who make the Hi-Point Stock. If you have one of those 9mm rifles, buy that stock, it is a night and day difference. I love mine.
  2. Sorry about the multiple posts, the internet decided to drop out and back on a few times. It would time out, so I hit post again not knowing it had worked before.
  3. I ordered the ATS 6 position, folding buttstock, handguard, and grip combo kit from MidwayUSA. Has anyone tried out one of these? The buttstock is going on my S12 since it folds to the side opposite of the charging handle. The handguard and grip are going on my AES-10 AK to replace wood furniture along with the Mako 8 position buttstock with the shock absorber since I don't really see the need for a folding stock on a long barrel rifle with a bipod.....

  5. I just cleaned mine after the first round of shooting it. I found all kinds of scale inside that came out in chunks. It had me worried as well, then I cleaned everything out and saw the threads on the gun and the gunfixr plug were fine. That was after about 120 rounds in a few hours.
  6. oops. Not sure how that happened.
  7. One more pic without the stock in the way.
  8. Took the freshly converted, never before shot S12 to the range on Sunday. The thread locker had right at 18 hours to cure, so I was confident that no parts should come flying off. The ammo I ended up using was Remington ShurShot 3" 1&1/4 #2 shot. While I had the gun apart, I checked and saw 3 unobstructed gas ports, so that was nice. I really didn't feel like pulling the rail system off and having to grind on the gas block. I started out with the gas fixers plug on -1, pulled the trigger and was rewarded with a nice huge fireball out of the muzzle brake, and a mist of excess Break

    What came first?

"Interesting" indeed without the BHO being milled. I was close to losing it completely and deciding to take it to the range still in pieces to let it meet my Romanian AK with some armor piercing ammo.

    What came first?

SUCCESS!!!!!! Yep, grinding a half moon into the BHO lever just under where it grabs the bolt did the trick. The final piece ends up not being able to be seen at all if you are looking through the hole the safety lever goes into. Also, some grinding on the safety lever itself to clear the rear hook of the fire control group makes it all go back together A LOT easier. The final trick was bending the BHO spring into a full U shape where it goes over the lever to keep it from coming off. You have to make sure that it is a tight U and hugs the lever closely so it will not have the chance

Thanks, Now I see how it works. It goes in after the BHO lever, but before the hammer pin, so I have to wonder how the retaining plate install goes now. Looks like its time to take about 3 steps back to get one step forward. Here we go.......
  12. I am putting my Saiga 12 back together after doing the conversion, and finally after having the BHO lever spring fly across the room about 20 times, and finding it each time, amazingly enough, I cannot get the safety selector back into place as the final piece to go in. I have the fire control group completely installed, retainer plate in place, and now I cannot get the last piece of the puzzle in place. Any tips, tricks, or general advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  13. Thanks for the info, I had the stock on without a pistol grip, and it felt okay. I'll see how it is when its all assembled. Any other warnings/feedback based on personal experience about any of the parts I listed?
  14. I bought an S12 at the last local gun show, and have since had to go offshore for work. I have been reading on this forum every day, and buying the upgrades I wanted to install in the gun along with the conversion. I don't get home for another 3 and a half weeks, but when I do, this list of parts will be waiting for me to install: Mississippi Auto Arms order: 1 x Tromix Do-It-Yourself Saiga 12 Trigger Guard features Ergo Classic Suregrip Pistol Grip - black 1 x Tromix Bolt On Charging Handle (SGP73) 1 x Flashlight Grip Adapter (caafga) 1 x Limbsaver Pad (Limbsaver) 1
