  1. Wrote CCI on Friday and they got back to me today. My reply is first, scroll down to see what the expert said: So maybe I'm wrong, maybe they are, whatever. Just thought I would put out the info.
  2. Oh crap, forgot. When I first got my Kimber (sold since then), my buddy and I were out practicing mag dumps and double-taps. The gun got away from me and I knocked the top left tack off the paper. My buddy said I couldn't do it again, so I did. 3 more times in a row (7yds) Not super impressive, but I was happy. He tried it with his Taurus 9mm but couldn't do it. Said it was because of bullet diameter That was an accurate little pistol, but what a jam-o-matic!
  3. Thanks Tritium, I've always wanted one of these, but the price led me to believe it would be pretty crappy compared to my BM or Gerber autos. But I just ordered one. Sorry for the thread jack.
  4. Good decision saigalupo IMO, and thanks for being such a good sport about this.
  5. Mine was a toss-up between two 400yd rock chucks shot with my .308 consecutively (they're about the size of a small cottontail, but skinnier) and a 495yd coyote head shot with my 7mm. The head shot part wasn't intentional, but it's not as if I tripped and the gun went off. Got that one on video too! Coolest I ever saw was my buddy getting a first round hit on one of those small propane tanks (for camping) at 80yds......with a subcompact 9mm! (It had a road flare behind it)
  6. And whenever that guy puts the T6 stock on one of these, I'll post that too.
  7. I've never seen a sub-moa M1A. I think they're cool, but way overrated personally. Didn't they quit making the 700p? Might want to hang on to that bad boy. With some handloaded Lapua Scenars you could probably get that down to .25". JMO Shane
  8. I recently picked up a conversion barrel for my Ruger 10/22 that allowed it to shoot .17HM2 ammo. I posted a rave review here about 3 weeks ago, and today it KB'd on me. Didn't get injured, but it did ring my ears pretty good. I just wanted to post this in case anyone was thinking of getting one. Haven't figured out what caused it yet, but the shell is still in the chamber and it looks similar to a case head separation. The ejector was ripped from the bolt and the magazine broke and flew out the bottom. I did shove a cleaning rod down to see if the bullet was lodged in the barrel, but
  9. Well the title says it all. In great shape, shot about 100 rounds through it, mostly .38 SPL. Sights are painted white (with white-out), other than that is as new. Have box and manuals, and a speed loader. $250.00 + Shipping My dealer says he can send it flat rate for $10.70 + tax USPS. For FTF deals, I am in Eastern WA, between Pullman and Othello. I can meet in Spokane, Tri-Cities, Moscow/Lewiston, etc., but it has to be on a day that I'm already going.
  10. This is funny. I think the oil-water separator he's talking about is essentially a swirl-vane modified to be used with liquid and a pump. I was just thinking about something similar the other day trying to figure out how to keep crap out of our pumps in the river! +1 on Fandango, AWESOME movie! I am a Kevin Costner fan though. Bull Durham is probably my favorite of his. Untouchables is good too.
  11. Whatever you do, don't post pics of it. If you do, it will inevitably end up as a picture with the caption "This SxS has an AR stock on it....... your point is invalid....."
  12. So I was finger f$#@ing an SP-101 in .327 FM and I really like the idea of it. Does anyone have one of these? How do you like it? Where can you get brass for it? Not looking for opinions from ballistics-chart-rangers here......I have those too.
  13. If anyone is a car stereo guru, please PM me. I want to upgrade my sound in my '05 Tacoma without changing the factory deck......d

  14. x25 and x54 would be my top choices. WSSM calibers would be cool too, but would be a dismal failure. A 6.5 swedish would be fucking outstanding, but that's mainly a popular cartridge in Europe right? Does Russia use it for sporting purposes? Shane
  15. I'm sure they will, the AR snobs only found out about this round a couple years ago. Just give it time.
  16. Well i went to see him today and got to check out the rifle. Fit and finish seems pretty good. I was sitting there teetering and he told me he'd do a layaway up to six months, I told him I'd think about it. I think I'm gonna go for it. Shane
  17. I hear ya', it's been the same way here. I've got new loads for two rifles to test out. From everything I've read, those uppers get about 2.5-3" depending on the ammo. That's about the same as my AKS-74, so I would be happy with it.
  18. Bob - The barrel/Bolt knob was about $160ish and the stock was $65. The magazine is a Butler Creek 25rd. I just found out that it might be because it has plastic feed lips? Dunno for sure. Seems like the magazine would have to have more of a curve to hold the rounds correctly, and those mags already look ridiculous!
  19. Oh yeah Dave, super easy to do yourself. You just pull the stock off, and there's a little block with two hex screws holding the barrel on. Take them off & remove the block, pull the barrel out, oil the other one and screw that block back in. The bolt handle and spring goes in the same as the old one. The whole "mod" took me about 20 minutes to do. PM sent
  20. First off, I'm not a 10/22 fan. They aren't particularly accurate, and don't always feed all that well. But I still bought one about 3 years ago and just never liked it. So I bought an ER Shaw .17HM2 conversion barrel and a Hogue stock, and I think it's my favorite rifle right now! It is a pretty sweet shooter! I've got about 50 rounds through it now with no hiccups, and it's been pretty accurate. I put the barrel on 4 days ago, and I've been taking it to work as my "truck gun". I've already killed more animals with it than all of my guns COMBINED. It is deadly out to 100 on
  21. So my FFL offered me a S&W M&P with a 5.45 upper NIB for $750. I don't have a strong desire to have an AR in that caliber, but it sure would be nice to plink with at $140/1100rds. I really just need a lower for my WSSM upper, but this seems like a really good deal. So are the S&Ws good quality? I had a Rock River before and was very happy with it. Are they as good or better than RRs? BTW, he has two of these, if any of you want one, drop me a line and I'll put you in touch with him. Shane
  22. Recently, given the hype, Avatar. Absolute Piece of shit. Maybe it was great in a good 3D theater, but it was a piece of shit. If you liked it, and are not a film connoisseur, it was a piece of shit. Not MHO, fact.
  23. I'd go P-mags, I think they're under $17 on the Magpul site.
