  1. J&G sales in Arizona has new black circle 10 5.45 mags $12.95 each if you buy ten or more.....
  2. I have a East German SSG82 sniper rifle in 5.45x39. It has a 23.6 inch barrel. I've never chrono'ed and rounds ive shot out of it. But I can attest to its accuracy.
  3. Heres some pic's. The model is called WPA IZ-141. It actually has a 20.5 inch barrel. It was made in 2011 and does not have the ugly cross out on the right rear of the receiver.
  4. They saiga skeleton stock was an original import version. wrong It is legal to use and does not count as a pistol grip since the stock simply has a void or hole in the middle of it. You only violate 922r if you use high cap mags or add a muzzle break. wrong Saigas never imported with a pistol grip stock weapon unless it was a VEPR and very little of these came in, Saiga never had a synthetic PG stock that is an ATI stock, and 922r is violated if you put a PG on or a high cap mag, he did not say hi-cap mag. The above is absolutely incorrect. Last week I bought a 20" barrel 5.4
  5. The balance felt good, but it's not a typical short AK, more a heavy barrel marksman type gun. The test booklet said it shot a 1.5 CM group at 100 meters.......pretty good for an Ak. Heck pretty good for any rifle. I think the trunnion type is a crap shoot. They just make the guns out of what they have on hand that day.
  6. It has a Round Trunnion, actually both my saigas do. I bought a 20" 5.45 SAIGA at J&G this past week. Great looking rifle. It does have the .308 type front sight, heavy barrel and the one I bought had the flat cut bottom front trunnion. The display rifle had a round bottom trunnion. In addition mine had a Russian black plastic "Dragunov" type rear stock which was a welcome surprise. The sales man seemed kind of worried when we opened the box and saw the rear stock. He said are you sure you want this one? I said YES no problem!!! I'll get some pics up later.
  7. It will fit and function just fine using the pictured Bulgarian FSB/GB. The gas port will align correctly, and you can use the original piston . A standard Bulgarian gas tube will fit without modification.
  8. The first setting on the slider is the "battle" setting which is the same as the 300 meter setting. This is the setting which would normally be used along with a center mass aim point. This would allow torso hits at point blank to over 400 meters. As far as the slider being "tight" well that may be a good thing. As I'm sure it will loosen up with use. I would not worry as you should just leave the slider at the first "battle" setting, after you zero at the 100 meter setting.
  9. As above I need one or two standard smooth SAIGA rifle top covers for project rifles. Please P/M me if you have any you want to sell!! Thanks in advance!!!

Actually the bullet guide is riveted in just like any standard AK type rifle bullet guide. Not "welded" in as indicated above. And, as above your standard AK-74 mags will work just fine.
  11. What keeps you from getting in your car and driving 70mph in a school zone? It's called "personal responsibility". Yes. Inserting a "non sporting" magazine into a factory Saiga will make you a 922r felon. My first question was not regarding a "user" violating 922r, But, as I said what makes them compliant as imported? The second question followed the first regarding a "user" installing a bullet guide. Driving 760 in a school zone is not really a similar situation. There is no law to dictate that a car MAY NOT BE CAPABLE of traveling over the speed limit. 922r
  12. Another ? about 922. The new 5.45 rifles do not have a bullet guide, however they WILL accept "non sporting" (over ten round original magazines). What makes them compliant as imported??. And if you added a bullet guide since the rifles already will accept high caps would there be any triggering of 922r ???
  13. So if I have a fixed standard stock mini-14 and use high cap mags which I owned before 2000 according to you I have violated Calif law? This is just not so. As stated above it's the features you have in ADDITION to the use of a high cap magazine can make a certain configurations illegal. But a blanket ALL over ten round mags are illegal to use is not true. For instance I have Calif registered "assault rifles". It's perfectly legal for me to use high cap mags in them. The same applies to pistols. If you owned the mags BEFORE 2000 it's perfectly legal to use them in yo
  14. Actually this is not the case. Picture a Mini-14. It's a centerfire semi-auto with a detachable magazine. The restriction is when you owned the magazines, not the rifle. It's perfectly legal to shoot the "Mini" with a high capacity mag IF you owned the mags before the year 2000. So using the same rational it would be perfectly legal to use a high cap in a Saiga IF you owned the high cap mags before the year 2000. The issueis really complying with Federal law (922®) NOT California law.
