How does the G2 trigger compare to the Arsenal trigger on the SGL21?

I was wondering what ammo everyone is using for HD? I am not really asking about the merits/ballistics/positives and negatives of using an AK47 or SKS for home defense, but more of what ammo you chose and why? My local shop has the Hornady V-Max rounds, but at the prices they are selling for, I was wondering if I should just stick with Wolf MC or go to something else like the Yugo surplus?

Going to the range again. I might not be able to make it on the 100 yarder as it does get busy. If I zero on the 25 yard range, is there a consensus as to what setting I should have the rear sight elevation set at? Seems some people say go with the "P", and others say go for the "1".

Is this stuff from Cabela's really repackaged Wolf? I noticed they have it at my local store and wouldn't mind picking up a few hundred rounds if it is indeed so.

My SGL21 did not include a test target. Does that mean that it was not laser sighted as described above? I haven't done any formal sighting in yet, but it seems to be on par. Just curious. Thanks.

OK, so last and final question. I promise! Once zeroed and finally shooting for fun at the range, what setting should I keep the rear sight elevation set at? Do you change it based on the distance you are shooting, or do you leave it alone once zeroed? Do I just keep it on the battle setting, and then just go based on the 7.62 trajectory chart, knowing that between 50 and 150m or so, I will range from 1.5-3in high? Thanks.

Thanks for all the help guys. I will be going out this weekend to get it all set up! I did have a question about the rear sight settings. I was under the impression that for a 25 yard zero, my rear sight should be on the "battle setting", not the 100 yard setting. Is this correct, or am I mistaken? Thanks again.

I have been posting a lot around here lately, and find all you ladies (there are a few, right? Haha) and gents to be so very helpful. Anyhow, I have a new Saiga SGL21 that I got during the KVAR sale about 6 months ago. And when I say new, I mean that loosely. I have a SGL 21. I just got my paws on a Aimpoint CompM2 for a good deal. Now as I am new to Ak's, and rather new to optics, I was wondering what the pro's and con's of each are? I was looking at the KVAR Side Scope Mount KV-04S and the Ultimak Gas Tube Rail. Thanks for the help guys?

What about the Double Tap ammo for SD?

I have a Saiga/Arsenal SGL21. My rear sight has settings 1-10. Just before the 1, is the "pi" symbol. Is this the setting I should use for the battle setting?

Not to hijack this thread, but after reading this I am wondering if the European surplus mags from AIM will work in a SGL21 without modification? Sorry, still a AK and rifles in general newb.

Thanks. I may just order that one. Funny thing is, I have heard on the SGL21 that adjusting the windage is a PITA because of the paint being baked on. We shall see. I just got an email from KVAR today about a new item. It is an Arsenal front sight tool. What a coincidence. I wont be buying it however since it only adjusts the elevation and is 30 dollars!
