  1. Cool no one got hurt. Mind blowing as to how a .308 didn't do more damage. Did you recover the bullet? Was it fragmented to shit?
  2. A few months ago I was speaking with a uncle that I have a great deal of respect for, always thought he was a semi-genius. I told him one of these days we have to hit the shooting range and have some fun. He didn't say yes or no, just starts telling me how he doesn't like guns and wishes guns didn't exist since they cause so many problems. Funny thing is after that he tells me of how he used to shoot .22 rifles in the boy scouts when he was a kid and said he was pretty good at it.
  3. Around the house I carry Hornady .45+P 230 grain XTP's in a Commander.
  4. Primary go-to long gun is the Saiga 7.62x39... reliability, hard hitting, manageable recoil, can penetrate body armor & does a good job at turning cover to concealment. Oh and is as accurate as i need it to be.
  5. Thanks for the compliments. Lol @ greylupo you have some killer work. KevininTexas dont forget to post a pic when you get it. For those who asked the other is a logo for one of my favorite bands Eyehategod, It's a phoenix "symbolizing rebirth".
  6. Just wanted to share. I wanted to get it yesterday in honor of Kalashnikov's birthday but didn't have time. Long live the Saiga!
  7. Some pictures When I insert the bolt assembly to put the rifle back together I have to push down a little, its hitting the hammer/spring.
  8. Thats what I was thinking... I had it resting on sandbags, was only really using my shooting hand to support it and had my left hand sort of holding the bottom butt of the stock with only three fingers. I followed through with every trigger pull and was flinching quite a bit, so I could have been pushing the rifle forward more than I realized, and like you said Eric, that light trigger is totally new to me. Fatigue was definitely a factor, I ran quite a few miles yesterday morning on the treadmill and shot 383 rounds of .22lr's and 150 .45acp's prior to handling the Saiga... I was getting by o
  9. What size Drill bit should I use to drill the trigger pin heads? I'm heading to Lowe's tomorrow morning to get the stuff to start my conversion... I'll be sure to post pics tomorrow night! Thanks
  10. Eating right sucks!

  11. These are available @ $37.99 per box of 20. Are they worth springing for the extra cash? Would the less expensive DoubleTap Hornady V-Max be equally or better suited to the task?
  12. Yeah I guess the forend is on pre-sale at Hogue, there's no pic but it seems they're available to order. I think I'm decided on the Hogue, I have them on half of my guns and I can't complain. Thanks for reminding me about innertube 3ae, I'm gonna try it on my Knoxx on my 870. I have the large Handall on there and it keeps slipping down, causing some strain on my grip since my finger has to reach up a little to pull the trigger. God I love this gun. Viva la Saiga!
  13. What's your favorite PG design? I really like the Hogue, but have not-so-big hands, so I'm kinda leaning toward the original style maybe with grit tape or a Hogue Handall jr. slip-on. BTW has anyone seen the Hogue forends yet? If they look good I might just go with the set.
