  1. I got 2 galil mags at a gunshow to see if they'd work in my Saiga 223 but they dont, the bolt wont strip them from the mag into battery. They sit too low it what it looks like. Wtf. I know this is a Vepr thread but I thoguht peopel were using galil mags in saigas. They don't sit too low in Veprs then?

  2. When I started this thread about 3 years ago, I put myself on the waiting list for Golden Tiger ammo at SGAmmo.

Well, SGAmmo finally got some in:

    http://www.sgammo.co...w-production-am

    I couldn't wait 3 years. I sold my 5.45 rifles about 2 1/2 years ago.

LOL. I kept mine and it's still my favorite caliber. There's always tins and loose boxes of 5,45 at my local gunshows but I'm in a very populated area.

I somewhat recently just got a bunch of brass cased Hornady for cheap too.

I have a hard time putting much faith in them [NRA].

    You're not the only one.

I have more faith in Trump adn that's WITH the import tarifs LOL.

He should relax all tarifs except Russian ammunition (unless it prompts US manufacturers to start producing).

  3. Can you weld it?

If someone put the mag adapter thing on then they have ground away a portion of the trunnion and they probably fuck'd it up or bubba'd it. To get it out and put a new one in you have to get the rivets out, barrel pin, and take the shit apart out of the receiver. If you are new to this then don't even attempt it. If you have the tools and know-how go for it.

  4. I'm presupposing the same thing - replay of the 2000 election. Trump will get popular votes but Killary will get the delegates.

Or, the power goes out nationwide....

Whoever wins I think it's fine. Trump wins and we get a wall of casinos. Bitchface wins and we get an implosion that finally wakes up most everybody, and my pile of guns also geso sky-high in blackmarket value.

  5. These threads make me want to get an AR adapter so bad...  Afraid to do the work myself.  sad.png

Don't bother. You won't get your adapter. Apparently they don't ship them to you and don't have any way to contact them either.

  6. WTF?

Tapco, Russian and Bulgarian parts. All interchanged around in different combinations too and they all have the same problem:

Disconnector does not disengage the hammer. it's as if the spring is too long and won't let the disconnector release the hammer.

The trigger hook also barely catches sometimes (hoping this is from the disconnector problem).

They didn't drill the axis pin off did they? It's like every hammer I use isn't long enough to catch the trigger hooks and any disconnector I use, foreign or domestic, doesn't work at all.

Is this malfunction specific to the .223 saiga?

Seriously, wtf? I mite cut a disconnector spring shorter and see if that works. I know tapco eff'd up a bunch of older ones but the one I got has the same depth drilled for the spring as the others.

    ?!?!?!?!?!

  7. ^ Good info, thanks a ton!

Both the Bastard and OLD adapter were from the same company (minus a name change) but with the Bastard you get LRBHO and you don’t have to worry about accidentally ejecting the adapter in post#2.

Does that one in question happen to accidentally fall out allot?

  8. Thanks for the info. I am definitly NOT paying for something worth as much as the rifle itself so it looks like the bastard or MSA one is my best option.

I HATE the bolt hold-open mods on AKs. Get that shit off my AK. I just want to use ar mags.

Now what's with the hammer? Was it a tapco one that needed re-profiling? Why? I will probably use a Bulgarian or Russian one anyways.

  9. I haven't been following these too much but recently got a saiga .223and want to put an adapter on it.

I'm not interested in paying a retarded price and sending the rifle away for that company to do so are there any other options that actually work? I can do it myself Ijust need a good adapter is all. Yea I know mill the trunnion away, etc...

    Thanks for any info.
