  1. Thank you for the info Albert.
  2. Yeah, I know about the 5.45 one. I'm just thinking about parts in general but the bolt (to me) is a pretty important part. So any AK firing pin goes in them then?
  3. I don't know if you consider a muzzle brake as part of a complete conversion but then I wondered if all Saiga barrels were unthreaded or are there some that actually are? Figured this is the place to ask.
  4. I will most likely purchase a Saiga for my next rifle. I am debating back and forth between the .223 or the 5.45 and I was wondering what kind of AK bolt the .223 has it it? The 5.45 apparently will be very hard if not impossible to find replacement bolt for (should that ever be the case) but I am wondering what the .223 uses and if a replacement bolt is easier to find than the 5.45's? Ultimately, this will likely affect my decision on which rifle I will buy. Thanks you for any info.
  5. Thanks for the reply. I could put the bullet guide in no problem. I am used to drilling and tapping some things. That sucks about the bolt situation. So if anyone who has a Saiga 5.45 needs another one eventually then we're all out of luck? The Tromix FCG I was wondering about. Thanks again for the info.
  6. So I've pretty much decided on a Saiga 5.45 for next rifle project, assuming I can find one for reasonable price. May have to wait I plan on converting it, but I have a few questions I need help with and hopefully the people with experience here can help. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ How hard is it to install the bullet guide for the 5.45 Saiga? I don't have to do anything then to the magazine well in order to use surplus AK74 mags, do I? Do all 5.45 Saigas have flat trunions? Is a 5.45 bol

Yea, I thought about that too, but too many bad reviews and other people's experiences with keyholing apparently, turned me off to the idea. That, and the price lol.

    Barells

Yeah? For any caliber? I can't decide if I am getting .223 or 5.45, mainly 5.45 because of the cheap ammo and the wound ballistics for a defense weapon but really thinking about .223 so I can have a domestic caliber smaller than the 7.62x39 I already have.

Do the factory Saigas have chrome-lined barrels or not?
  10. What are the stickies?
  11. So what is the remedy? I looked but couldn't find any how-to on fabricating a guide for this.
  12. The AK74 mags are supposed to work with them. If you use them then you have to put compliance parts into the gun but if you ever get the opportunity to try an AK74 mag, it would be great to hear how it fits (wobbles or tight, etc...). So how does it shoot? Did you get it online or from a local dealer?
  13. Cool, thanks for the info. I figured it would fit but not the .308 caliber though.
  14. I was wondering if anyone knew if the UTG quadrail for the 7.62 caliber would fit the 5.45 one. I haven't got one yet, so I can't tell if there's a difference or not between the two that would matter. Here's an example of what I am talking about: Click Here I haven't bought my Siaga yet though Still in the asking questions stage. Convince me!
  15. The 5.45 Wolf makes isn't corrosive either. I asked a guy at Gander Mountain to price check 20rd box and it was as much as the 7.62 ammo! Ghey.
  16. Hi all, Sorry if this has been brought up but I couldn't find it... I am really thinking about getting a 5.45 Saiga but wanted to know if they will accept regular AK-74 magazines or do you have to do something with the mags and feedramps? Thanks for any info.
