  1. My 223 came with a grouping of 87mm according to the factory spec sheet. Shot excellent in stock form but really shines after the restoration. My 14 yo daughter took a coyote with it last winter at 225 yards +/-.
  2. I have a Saiga 223 and it is used for coyote hunting. I too was not going to restore my rifle as it seemed to shoot very well and the trigger was just fine. Then I picked up a Saiga 308 and the trigger on that was horrendous, so I restored it. It was so easy, I restored the 223 as well and it is a HUGE difference. The 223 is now more accurate than it was before and it is very accurate out to 300 yards consistently. The scope mount I use is the UTG quick disconnect on ebay. $50 and it holds zero after removing and is rock solid. I have one on my 308 as well. No experience with the Mini
  3. Still getting parts for my 308. I just got done sanding and staining the wood. Thought I would share my little handguard creation. Still need a retainer and a gas tube assembly. Retainer is on order.
  4. Nice find War Hammer. I was looking on ebay and in google but couldnt find what I was looking for. Now to find out what lower retainer is .308 friendly.
  5. I was thinking of something along these lines as well.
  6. Dinzag? Klassy's stuff through CSS? Any others that fit the .308? Anyone got a DIY clamp on retainer?
  7. I am using a Walmart special Centerpoint 4-16x42 scope. It has dual color illuminated reticles. I think it cost about $70 and it comes with rings. I have the UTG quick release scope mount. I bought the scope because the .223 was originally for my daughter. Figured why buy an expensive scope for her to drop. Ive been very impressed with it so far. I have the same one on my S308 also.
  8. Bounce12, I have 5 and 2 are snipers. Excellent rifles and cheap to shoot.

  9. Im looking for lower ak style wood handguard and I am not sure which ones are for milled or stamped receivers. For example, I found a sweet polish laminate but it says its for a milled receiver. What countries should I be looking for to narrow my search. I have a laminate stock so trying to go laminate on the HG also.
  10. Yes that where Im asking about. My calipers broke a while ago and I never got another set. Thanks.
  11. My 308 is set up like a PSL except I havent bought the handguards yet. I am debating on modifying actual PSL handguards or using AK wood furniture. I am leaning towards AK furniture because it will allow me to use a clamp on rail to mount a bipod behind the gas block. What is the barrel OD in that area of the 308? Any body have a recomendation for a clamp on rail? I like the idea of quick disconnect bipods.
  12. Is that bipod the same one that Walmart sells? If so, how is it holding up? My Saiganov needs one.
  13. I was out coyote hunting this past sunday and we had a crow that would not STF up. My friend ranged him at 175 to 200 yards with our POS rangefinder. I took aim and fired and smoked him with a head shot. I know my Saiga is accurate but even this suprised me. 16 inch barrel .223 converted with a 4x scope and Hornady 55gr V-MAX bullets. If that isnt accurate enough then I dont know what is. Just checked my manual and mine is 138mm.
  14. What you said is what I meant. The rail looks to be more forward than mine, not the mount base. I ended up ordering a cantilever dual ring mount. Looks like it will allow my scope to go further forward.
