  1. If the pin that holds the two bolt halves together is loose, it can cause a random fte. Check the slot in the carrier that the bolt rides in. If there is galling in the center of the slot that could be your problem. The pin shouldn't come out too easily. If it does, deform one end of the pin to tighten it up. Good luck. Don't get discouraged.
  2. Golden Tiger 1000 round cases available at sgammo for $250. They are going quick.
  3. Ignore the manuall on gas adjustment. If it says 1 for 3 inch and 2 for 2 3/4 it's wrong. Read the sticky in the FAQ section on gas regulator adjustment. (Actually read all the stickies. You'll gain a better understanding on how the gun works.) Setting 2 allows all of the available gas power to cycle the gun. Setting 1 reduces the gas power available to cycle the gun. Always start on setting 1 regardless of shell length. If it doesn't cylce then going to setting 2 may be neccessary. If a full power shell doesn't cycle on 1 you may have other problems. The FTL problem in this c
  4. Why did you run it on setting 2? Did it not run full power slugs on 1? Always start on setting 1, if it doesn't cycle then adjust to setting 2. Full power slugs on setting 2 may have caused the carrier to outrun the magazine therefore leading to your fail to load.
  5. Thanks for the heads up. Good to see not everyone is price gouging.
  6. I had the same problem. It was the 10 round SGM mag. It would high feed the 7th or 8th round almost every time. I cut it down to an 8round mag and it still does it on all 3 of my s12s. Needless to say, I don't use SGM mags anymore. AGPs and MD drums work for my guns. Extending the barell hood may help, but its cheaper to just buy new mags. I think someone here posted a fix for this a year or two ago by using a shim on the back of the follower. You might want to search for that. Good luck.
  7. This is quite common. Pull out the pin and SLIGHTLY deform 1 end. People have used vise grips or a small hammer. If left loose it can cause all sorts of problems. It randomly locked up the action on mine and would cause damage the next round in the magazine. The bolt wouldn't move freely in the carrier and the carrier would just stop after moving back a short distance. By the time I would get the gun apart to check out what was going on the pin would work its way back into the bolt. Good thing you caught this now, it could have ruined your hunt.
  8. My Tromix has a refinished receiver on the inside. The hammer face, carrier bottom and rails are coated too. The gun runs flawlessly. Which one of you "experts" wants to tell Tony he doesn't know what he's doing?
  9. +1 to prep, prep and more prep. Pay special attention to where the rivits are, they love to hold oil that will creep out after you've blasted. +1 to aluminum oxide. It creates enough texture for the finish to bite into. You can duracoat any part that was already covered with a factory finish. This includes inside the receiver. Just don't duracoat anything that wasn't previously coated by the factory and you'll be fine. Duracoat goes on at a thickness of .5 -1.5 mils if I remeber correctly. If an ak can run with a reciever full of dirt 1.5 thousands of an inch of coating that replaced t
  10. As a Mercedes benz mechanic I can tell you that regular S Class glass is double pane on the side windows. It's really thick compared to normall glass, but it is not bulletproof. That being said, I have heard of it stopping bullets. You would be amazed how many cars come in with bullet holes in them. The side mirror glass can run up to $800 in parts alone. The center console won't be cheap either. Post or pm me the vin and I can tell you if its a real armored version or not. They are rare but they do exist.
  11. There is such an organization. It's called the Armed Citizens Legal Defense Network (armedcitizensnetwork.org). Police are allowed to search a crime scene instantly. Check out flexyourrights.org if you need to learn more about police powers and youir rights.
  12. If a town in Cook county is large enough it can qualify for "Home Rule". Home rule allows a town the ability to govern itself with more power. A home rule town can undue the Cook county ban within its town limits if it chooses, or they can make it worse. Chicago is in Cook county and their laws are more restrictive than Cook's. Confused? You should be. This is why Illinois state law needs to preempt local law on firearms. Don't forget, gus shops and cops don't always know the law. Just because you don't get caught doesn't mean it's not illegal. Alot of Illinois cops are pro-gun and pr
  13. Saigas are a no go in cook county. You can't do anything to make them leagle in Cook county. Check out illinoiscarry.com and the illinois state rifle association website for good Illinois info. Things are looking good for Illinois. 2 lawsuits for concealed carry are moving foreward. The Chicago range ban was just lifted. SKSs are now legal to register in Chicago. These things just happened in the last month. Instead of moving, it's better to stay and fight for your rights and the rights of other Illinoisans. We need all the help we can get. http://onlygunsandmoney.blogspot.c
  14. Mine was also too lose on my 7.62. So loose it was unsafe. It fits my s12 great. The other option is to have Dinzag modify yours. That's what I'll be doing.
  15. 3MM machine screw and a locknut. Turn down the head of the screw and file one of the flats of the locknut. You will see what I mean when you try it. Yes it's ugly, but it's cheap and it works.
