  1. You've come up with a reliable and attractive 20rd drum, a working magwell system, AND you have plans for a better working 10rd stick magazine. You've basically singlehandedly re-invented the Saiga-12. Even if only half of what you've shown you've done or can do ever comes to be, it'll be absolutely amazing. I would be buying a drum right now, except I only fire 3". Did you still have plans to make a 3" drum, or should I just bite the bullet and buy a 2.75"? Also, when do you expect to start work on the stick magazines? I'd gladly buy five of those along with a 3" drum and the drum/st
  2. Also for what it's worth, I bought five AGP magazines from a group buy on another firearm forum I'm a member of. These were of the very first or second batch, and had massive troubles feeding and firing. Rounds would jam and not feed, rounds would bind the hell up on the lower portion of the barrel, etc. etc. So what did I do? I tore those suckers apart and dremelled/graphited the PISS out of 'em! A couple pencils, a freaking file if you don't have a dremel, and you have no excuse for not getting an AGP to work. Even if that fails, like Kevin just posted, you can send them in as a very l
  3. That error is totally normal for building a page. The guy making it probably bamfed the placeholder page and only has a couple IP addresses that are actually allowed to view the site while it's still in construction. It's actually quite common to do, and this way nobody stumbles over it beforehand and gets a look at information that wasn't supposed to get out yet. Yes, you COULD set up something to route every IP address except for three to a comingsoon.html, but it's really a lot of work when a grand total of maybe 50 people actually know about the site, and know it's under construction an
  4. Quick idea, as an alternate to a clear cover (which I personally would get because they look awesome), couldn't you also just drill a hole into a black drum at each place where a round would be located, and label them 1-20? That way just by looking you could see the brass through the holes and know that you had that many rounds left. Obviously it wouldn't be hard to do this on one's own, but I hesitate to think of how you would run a drum like this and NOT know how many were left. It almost needs a way to tell what's left in it, just from the huge amount of ammo it takes.
  5. So glad to see you back in action, and the videos brought a smile to my face. Unfortunately, all I ever fire from my Saiga is the 3" stuff or non-crimped 2 3/4" stuff which is about as long as a crimped 3" anyway. Looks like I'll have to wait for a 3" or combo model, but the second one is available or you take orders for them, you can bet I'll be snagging one. The last post you made sort of made me wonder. What do you mean by a "fake round?" I'm trying to figure out what exactly you meant by it, and if it is literally just a snap cap type inert round, why does the magazine need it
  6. I've tried all of that and it will stove pipe the spent shell. Try opening the gas ports. It's about the only other thing you can do right now. the Saiga-12 is designed to be fired with normal full power loads, since the action already reduces recoil. Things that have reduced loads to reduce recoil also reduce the ability to reliably fire semi-automatically. That LE shit is designed for pump action shotguns without recoil reducing stocks, not a semi-automatic shotgun that can have plenty of recoil reducing crap put in/on it anyway. I'd see if maybe he can talk with his departmen
  7. Awesome. Looks like I found my sling setup now. Thanks for the pointer.
  8. Wait. So you're saying that it not only fits most 3" shells, but it also fed 2 3/4"? If this is the case, I'm putting aside cash for this thing the moment you confirm this is the case. Even if it ONLY feeds 3", I'm still most likely on it since that's all I'd fire from it anyway.
  9. By any chance does anyone know of a rail adapter or red dot with integrated side mount adapter that slides on from the front of the mount? My current rail slides on and off from the back, and due to the position of my sling mount on the stock, I have to remove that if I want to remove the rail. I'd REALLY love a high rise Eastwave mount or a Kobra, but from what I've seen they both slide on from the back, and not the front. Alternately, anyone with a hi-rise Eastwave or Kobra, will it mount high enough to allow you to still use the iron sights on the top rail of the HALO quad rail for
  10. I've finally moved down to Dallas and got myself set up all nice and cozy here. I've been looking for these two items for quite some time, and while I know the HALO quad rail is easily found new in box, I wouldn't mind saving a bit of money by going used on these. As for the Corsak laser sight, I know for a fact that one is a ridiculous pain to find, so I'll more than likely take whatever I can get on that, provided it works, screws into the gas tube, and still holds zero. If you have any of these items and are willing to part with them, post in here and let me know what you want shipped
  11. http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&...19&t=252462 Using that link, I rolled my own. You can pretty easily modify the design to fasten it to the firearm however you feel like. Right now I have it threaded through the side of my Romanian Shoulderbreaker, and used the "smaller sling off of the sling" on the front to thread it through the standard sling mount. When I get my quadrail set up, I'm going to see about welding or otherwise fastening a swivel somewhere on the side of the thing to keep it from wanting to flip over due to being mounted on the bottom, and I'm g
  12. As odd as it is, I honestly have LESS trouble firing 3" through my Saiga-12 regardless of magazine than I do 2.75". Of course that may be because I carved a functional barrel ramp into my barrel, but even full out supermagnum deer/caribou/bison loads that might be a bit longer than 3" seem to work fine, provided they actually will fit in the magazine. The only 3" I've had trouble with have been slugs, and it's just been because there's too much weight in the magazine for the next round to push up in time to get caught by the bolt. In fact, if anything, that'd be my one suggestion to the
  13. Well this thing is sounding infinitely more awesome, and the actions of a certain recent troll has sealed the deal that I will never EVER buy the Wraithmaker product, even if the MD version of the magazine gets delayed a year. Your behavior in this thread and your discussion of the concept have sealed the deal for me. Just a design question for you Mike, what is it about the design of the magazine that would make you unable to feed 2.75" through the 3" model of the magazine? It seems to me that if you took the mold and ran a slight rail on the very back of the magazine like in the regula
  14. Would it honestly be that difficult to paint them, or mark them by wrapping some colored electric tape around the mags? I was under the impression that plastic could be painted quite easily, and it wouldn't require much paint at all for something as small as a magazine. Right now my slugs are all in my 8 rounder because my 10 rounders don't fire the slugs up into place fast enough, so that's how I differentiate
  15. It worked on mine, and as evidenced from those pictures and my own admission, it was pretty much a hack job. A properly done Grind 'n' Test approach would result in a lot less removed material and probably look much prettier. Still, that thing hasn't given me any problems whatsoever, even when I gave it to people with the explicit instructions to abuse it like a ten dollar hooker to see if it would give any sort of issues. Wow, that's really odd. The only problem mine ever had were that the feed lips weren't worn in and were causing the magazine to have to be precisely centered bef
