  1. You only need to buy the modified bho if you use the retaining plate. I used the sheperds crook, so I used the original bho.

    Bird shot

If your Saiga is unconverted, and a RAA gun, you can send it to Cadiz Gun Works for warranty work. Mine has had hundreds of rounds of cheap Federal bulk run through it since being returned from Cadiz, and not a single FTE. Shipping was even covered, just contact Russian American Armory, and they'll help.
  3. I put the Tapco puck in my gun for 922 compliance, and it turned my gun into a single shot. I don't think there is anything really wrong with the tapco puck, but it just magnified my problem of an undergassed gun. After sending my gun of to Cadiz it will run flawlessly with any puck; I currently have a twister installed. FYI the twister also made my FTE rate 100% with bird shot, so it is not just the Tapco.
  4. My order number is 11922 ordered on 2/9 any shipping estimates, my order status hasn't changed; just curious. Thanks
  5. What did you have them do? Was it just tweak on it or did you have it converted or something? Just warranty service. When it came back, it looked like they enlarged the gas ports. Whatever they did, it worked, and it was free.
  6. Just an FYI, before I sent my gun to Cadiz it would eject 80% of the time with the stock puck, and Federal birdshot. With the standard twister or the Tapco installed my gun became a single shot. Even though all the pucks are virtually the same size, the stock puck performed the best by far. Now that my gun is back from Cadiz Gun Works, it performs 100% with all three pucks, and cheap birdshot, even fired from the hip.
  7. My gun was at Cadiz for almost two months, but it was worth it. I can now dump 12 rounds of 7.5 shot Federal Gameloads off the hip without a problem. Prior to the service I could rarely get two in a row off the shoulder held firmly, and that was with plenty of high brass break-in.
  8. I just looked for the cheapest high brass I could find. In my case it ended up being Estate High Velocity game loads. 1 1/4oz, 3 3/4 DRAM I can't remember the FPS exactly but it was over 1300 FPS. I ended up paying $8.99 per 25, which was cheapest by far, and they ran perfect, even in my undergassed gun.

    Tapco Gas Puck

Thanks for the size clarification I don't have any precsion measureing device. Does your Tapco puck have rounded edges like mine, maybe that could be part of the problem. Anyways, I have a twisterpuc on the way, so maybe this weekend, I can take the twister, tapco, and stock pucks out and give them each a run. I'll also try them each with the stock and Gunfixer plugs. I'll report back after the test. Thanks agian.

    Tapco Gas Puck

Thanks, I plan to try the standard Twister puck next, hopefully it will put my gun over the top, and make is 100% reliable with Federal bulk ammo.

    Tapco Gas Puck

My gun is pretty new and marginally under gassed so I went straight for setting 3 with federal #6 1290fps Game Loads. I also tried setting 2 and one more full counter clockwise revolution at setting 3; nothing made a difference. With the stock puck, the gunfixer runs the same Federal on setting 3, and Estate 1 1/4oz high velocity high brass on setting 2. Anyways, if anyone has had a different experience with the Tapco let us know.
