  1. Thanks for the tips on cleaning out that corrosive crap. just ordered my texas armory mount for it and I think I'm gonna fabricate a new stock using tube steel then mount up that vector scope and see how I like it..the strike mount was a non starter ...pretty much flexes and vibrates like a tuning fork so other than mounting a cheap knockoff T1 its a no go .
  2. awesome to hear Im not the only one. Ive got a cai bulgy that shoots decent like 3 to 4 inch 100 yd groups and an early cai yugo underfolder with duracoat type finish and functional tritium sights that shoots the same but never thought of putting optics or even a dot on them. , I really like this tantal and I think it could have potential. Also I have never shot something with such an effective muzzle brake...its incredible how little recoil it has and I feel its got a slight edge on the very similar bulgarian brake . . the barrel doesnt appear to be chrome lined and Im sure the bulk of the 54
  3. Recently picked up a tantal to round out my 5.45 collection..typical cheapo cai tantal but this one seemed like a pretty decent build , my local shop gets in lots of stuff at a time and I can pick thru the best ones. So me and a buddy took our new toys to the range for a function and preliminary test (both guns were put on hold months ago he grabbed a golani cheap). I ran a mag thru for function test and got straight to seeing if it had
  4. hardcore. sabot slugs are mucho denero. like to see how they fly out of a rifled choke though. keep us posted, Im doin elcheapo remington sluggers as i had real nice results with the polychoke (4-5 inch at 50yds) , minute of pie plate accuracy is good where im at, very thick, you wont see deer more than 75 yds away. 5c is my wmu for deer this year. but the spec reg area lines are by county for that wmu, some northern areas are not shotgun only( not spec. reg) in 5c and the manual operated rifle or shotgun rules apply (no buckshot) for parts of 5c not in bucks, montco, or chester counties. lott
  5. Gotta hump this thing to my deer spot, cant be some bungee corded dingle dangle tactical arangement for this one, plan on dragging a deer out so I gotta be able to toss it over my back and have enough adjustability to clear a daypack. I can drill n tap, do sling swivels or quick releases if required but it cant be in the way of the folder. the handguard is where i'll mount the front but its the rear that im wondering about, I shoulda welded on some sling mounts but I guess I was asleep at the switch again... its duracoated now DOH !.I'm thinkin 3 point? any suggestions ?
  6. my secrets out,the pine needle paintjob !! . yeah, I was bored and was gonna do a dark grey but then figured what the hell. Its pretty weird though, In bright sun it looks like flat dark earth, in shade the green shows through, and in flourescent lighting it looks grey. depending on the lighting it changes color, just kept blending in diffrent colors I had layin around from a flectarn kit. nice n subdued for turkey season. thanks. cant wait to start the shorty. man do these things shoot good, nice tight groups with slugs n buck, twist the choke and turkey loads and even cheapo light loads shoo
  7. I sure hope SASer approves. workin on saiga # 2 when I have some spare time, 12-14 " sbs.
  8. 1st saiga is done. Its been on the backburner for a while, so busy with work and wheelin on the weekends. The duracoat came out diffrent. grey green base, pine needels as stencils, then mixed in some brown and then greys. changes color in diffrent lighting. In bright sunlight its almost a flat dark earth, in shade its dark greyish OD kinda green, and in low light its grey, the furniture is a dark dark grey/black mix. used up some odds and ends in my duracoat collection, I like it. was never satisfied with the stocks I made, stole the original handguard for another project and ditched the magwe
  9. NICE TURKEY !!! hick. saigas purty too.
  10. SPECIAL REGULATION AREA is shot gun only or muzzleloader...no rifles, checked , double checked and checked again with the warden. semi shotgun good to go for deer season in special reg. area outside philly (bucks, montgomery, and chester counties... For small game, from dove to goose ect and any overlap it must be total of three capacity (I bought a 2 rnd. mag), for firearm deer season capacity is not limited.generally most pump and semi shotguns dont hold more than five .. Im gonna stick with the 2 or 5 rounder. I think a drum would attract unwanted attention and its always a one shot deal wi
  11. awesome stuff, very 007...I especially like the underwater cartriges. there are 7.62x39 subsonic for sale but its like 2 bucks a shot. 180 to 220 grain pill with some filler and a 5 to 6 grain charge of slow burning pistol powder like trailboss is the general direction but dont know if it'll cycle the action?
  12. Doing my research and was wondering if anyone had a good setup, (cases, powders ,primers, bullets). Just looking for advice or someone who may have experience with a sbr setup like this with a reflex type can. Oh and Id like it to cycle with some reliability lol.
  13. Friggin shweet man.I love it! try not to singe your shoelaces.
