  1. Are they really worth eating? Has anyone eaten feral hogs/pigs? I heard it tastes like chicken.
  2. Decided to go with a conversion instead of spending money on new (stock), stock and forearms. Thanks for the interest.
  3. Looking for a stock forearm and stock for my Saiga 7.62x39, the wood set that I have now is splitting and would like to get the composite. Anyone have these lying around after your conversion that you would want sell or give away?
  4. Isn't there a company that I could send my S308 to, to have this, http://primaryweapon...37&idcategory=6 added onto it? I'm not much into gunsmithing.
  5. It should work, as far as the "exit" hole, but this brake is threaded for 14x1 mm LH threads (standard AKM). You would have to turn the barrel down on your S308 a bit too much for my tastes, in order to be able to thread it to that size. Primary Weapon System has a very similar brake for 5/8"x24 muzzle threads, which is the AR10 standard and is better suited for Saiga 308s. Here it is: http://primaryweapons.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=37&idcategory=6 Thanks, I'll check that out.
  6. I have come across this brake, http://www.nokick.com/PWS_FSC_47_p/pws%20fsc-47.htm. Anyone have any firsthand knowledge on whether this would work on my 308? It says it's exit hole is sized for a 7.62x39. Wouldn't that work for the 7.62x51?
  7. STAY AWAY FROM THE .308!!! No .308 for you = more .308 for me!
  8. Seriously, you've got a problem. I like my 20" Saiga.
  9. Here is a chart of calibers that give a better idea of the size of the 30mm.
  10. Isn't the 7.62x51 and the .308 WIN the one and the same??
  11. Recently picked up 1000 rounds of Silver Bear in 145 gr. fmj for 300 dollars at the last Machine Gun Shoot at Knob Creek. 30 cents a round didnt sound bad to me. Have put 200 rounds thru my .308 so far without a hiccup.
  12. Here is my Saiga .308 (7.62 x 51) that has been professionally converted to pistol grip configuration by Overland Industries out of Lake Havasu City AZ. I put 200 rounds through it recently without even a hiccup. I'm second owner, haveing purchased it on Gunbroker.
  13. Along the same topic as to when it was made. My Saiga 7.62 is stamped 99. Now I'm assuming that means 1999, right? But the Blue Book website shows that Saiga's were imported from 2002-2004 and reintroduced in 2006. Or I guess it could have been made in 1999 and imported at the later dates specified by Blue Book. Or Blue Book is wrong.
  14. Thanks, Considering I'm larger than the average bear, (6'7", 295lbs) I think the Nato is the way to go for me. Thanks again for the info.
  15. Ok, I was on K-VAR's website looking at their SGL21 series and noticed they came with either the Nato length or the Warsaw length buttstock. Could someone enlighten me as to the difference, pro's and con's? Is one better than the other? Thanks Oops, misspelled Warsaw in title.
