  1. That "unofficial chat" thingy sure works wonders, don't it? Nalioth, you're the man.
  2. A tiny spring, 7/8 long about 1/8 in in dia, was left over when I finished rifle. I learned it's a "dissconnector spring" took rifle apart put it where it belongs and it runs fine now. I looked internal parts over, didn't notice any damage, I hope I got lucky. It sucks being ignorant. Thanks for replies.
  3. Went out shooting just now after just finishing conversion. Mag fits nice and snug, rack bolt, round feeds nicely. Pull trigger, bang, empty shell goes flying a nice distance, another round feeds,,,,,,wait for it,,,,,,,no bang. Rack bolt, unfired round sent flying..It's like the bolt isn't coming back far enough to reset the trigger. Action does hit a somewhat sticky spot when the trigger group gets "cocked", I pull bolt all the way back and let it forward slow, it seems to "catch" in the same spot, I can find no wear marks where anything is hitting. out of 20 WOlf rounds, twice it fire
  4. Found the Cross-com./saiga-conversion/step-4 template I'm hoping it's accurate going to cut the hole tomm,
  5. My serial is started by a 99, 1999? No idea when it was made. I will look for template.
  6. My conversion is underway, ground and removed trigger guard, to my suprise no place to drop in pistol grip nut, I wanted to finish this thing tonight! Any place behind trigger guard a BAD place to knock out a hole? Thanks
  7. I have seen, read and understand the directions, I was making it harder than it was. thanks to all who tried to help.
  8. Exactly the directions I've been trying to download and can't, thanks though, appreciate it.
  9. My Saiga is the oddball, there is no "chamber face" at 4 o"clock, beneath the barrel is a rounded area that 1 1/2 bullet guides could prob fit in, it fits under barrel, just has a lot of play "right and left" nothing to stop it in either direction it seems. Thanks.
  10. instructions can't dowmload, thats why I'm on here asking questions so I can do this thing now instead of tommorow. thanks
  11. Thanks I'm good with rounding the mag side edge, question remains, center the hole or the guide? Center the guide then I'm drilling the hole at a odd angle, was going to clamp recever in a vise and drill on a mill, off center hole means I cant hit straight on, will have to drill and tap at a unknown angle? Help the ignorant.
  12. Center the guide or center the hole? that would help.
  13. My Saiga requires the rounded bullet guide, this much I know. Received guide today, have rifle apart. Hole in my guide is offset, is "stepped" to fit under barrel. Question; just center guide in front of barrel and thats where hole goes? Guide can go left or right quite a bit, nothing holding it near where I think center should be. Going to drill it at work tomm, want the hole to go where it belongs. thanks. My handguard is held on by what looks like a rivet, no screw, face is recessed and flat, not going to mess with it for now. odd?
