  1. Do these count as practice? this and this? Well.... how many mags is enough? I have 2- 5 round Russians, 1- 8 round russian, 1- 10 round AGP, 3- 12 round SGM, and just ordered 5 MD20 drums. I would like to have some of the Promag 12 round drums, but I'm going to wait until all of my stuff ships from MD before I buy anymore mags. If I like the MD20s I may buy 5 more. Ooops.... I forgot about the doublestacks. Gotta have a few of those too. Come on Mike, we're pulling for you For the record, I bought my first S12 in January and I still consider myself a newbie. I appreciate
  2. .... and people thought the K-VAR kits were stupid looking? LMAO!
  3. I understand the point behind the AFG, but I just done see it translating to a good system. I use a Larue LT-FUG.... and it never beats me up. I think the AFG would be good on a truck gun. Less grip to hang on things. Sorry to hear you aren't loving that grip. I hate spending money on things that don't work well for my application.
  4. Now how the hell are you going to start a post with the title "Conversion Done".... and not post pics? It never happened.... I'm just giving you a hard time Like that new trigger better than the stock one, huh? Night and day difference IMO. When you 'get around to it'.... post pics of your weapon.
  5. I'm pretty good with my hands and I have machining experience. If I decide to go less than 12", I'll just buy a lathe and a good press. I actually have a few other things I could use them for too. I may just go 12" or 12.5" and see how I like it. I can make it run. On stocks, I have long arms, but prefer shorter stocks. I like the feel of having the weapon close. I think I would like all of the choices I offered and it is purely a cosmetic choice for me. I really want a triangle folder. but they are hard to find. I have one of the AGP stocks and I like it, but want something different on

  7. You, sir, are a complete fucking idiot. PM inbound. Please heed. Thank you tritium.... This thread would be a great stopping point for this kind of activity.
  8. How long did it take to get your stamp back? I think I'm going to do that with my most recent S12. Are you planning to just cut the barrel and not rethread? I have never done it, but I would assume that you should cut it a little long and take the rest off slowly with a file moving from the bore outwards as to not compromise the chrome. It may not matter, I'm no expert on the subject. Someone should offer a 12ga crowning tool. I know they are available for 7.62mm.
  9. This isn't my first S12, but it is the first brand new unconverted S12 that I have bought. The other two were already converted. They conversions were performed OK, but I am meticulous and I think I can do a better job of it.
  10. I fired 205 rounds of Winchester Universal Bulk Pack. There were 0 FTEs and 4 FTFs. So, about 2% failure. I think the culprit of the FTFs was the crimp or shell length on the Winchester Universal. All of the FTFs were while firing in rapid succession. I was actually testing for reliability to see if I had the recipe right. One weapon has minimal smoothing done to the action and port work. The other weapon required about 10 hours of my time to get it running good off of the Winchester stuff. Before the shoot, one weapon had 20 rounds on it and the other had about 175 rounds on it. I only f
  11. Well.... when Mike gets done with it, it will still need something.... more ammo!
  12. I have had a long time 'gun crush' on these little rifles. I never really considered buying one until a few days ago.... pricey little devils. I can't wait to fondle it .... and to think I almost bought two Dracos instead. Nothing wrong with the Dracos, but they don't compare to the 107UR. I still want at least one though. I think that may be next on the list.
  13. The proper term for what you are seeing would be: canted gas block All of mine are canted too. I have a pretty good idea of how to correct it, but I am not a pro and, I too, eagerly await the advice of a pro on this subject. Cadiz Gun works does the warranty work for RAA and I think this is one of the issues they address under warranty. If you don't mind shipping it out for repair, I believe the actual repair is free. You may incur fees to get your weapon there and back. Possibly shipping and transfer, but I am not sure. I'm sure someone who has sent theirs back will comment on it.
  14. I paid $1274 shipped on GB a few minutes ago. I don't know if I overpaid, but there was another one on there for $1.399. Whatever, I wanted it and they don't come along every day. Seller says it has less than 100 rounds and the underside of the bolt makes that claim seem credible. It has the triangle stock on it. I want to do a form 1 after I get a few other things taken care of. Any suggestions on a tri rail, optic mount, optic, and muzzle device? Do you have a 107ur? Like it? Love it? Hate it? Anyone know what size the port needs to be after cutting the barrel?
  15. Go with the underfolder. I had Romy sidefolders on my S12s and it was semi-painful after a couple hundered rounds. I have always thought the underfolders were more comfy than the sidefolders. The only problem I can see is that you would have to remove the mag to fold/unfold the stock. Other than that, it would be something for me to envy. Just do it....
  16. Thanks Chile. its my Survival/Tactical S12. Looks nice.... I hereby dub it.... the "ST12" Ingenuity and originality. It's nice to see run-of-the mill parts being made into something different that actually looks good and increases functionality. Well done.
  17. Yeah, Crebs just throws a G2, stock, and a grip on it and sends it out the door for an obscene profit Nothing to it right? No porting, no muzzle work, no rework of the action, no ramp work, no strip, no prep, no filled FCG holes, no welding, no riveting, and no refinish.... just slap stuff in it and on it.... and the money falls from the sky. The weapon is worth a grand without the Eotech. Consider the Eo and the MD FREE.
  18. From near to far: Saiga hammer, Tromix Modified G2 that I reprofiled to work properly in my S12, and a untouched Tapco G2. This is the G2 after I ground it in the right spots to work properly in my other S12. Note the spot that looks like it didn't get ground much. Don't take a lot off there or you may experience unwanted firing conditions (doubles, triples, or full auto). You still need a certain height on the hammer to reset it and engage the disconnector. .... and a good view of the profile Get your hammer to the right profile and smooth it out a bit with a file and some sand p
  19. The profile of your hammer is aweful.... like mine was, lol. It should rest flat, for the most part, against the rear of the bolt instead of resting on the top corner. I would be willing to bet that is the root of the issue.
  20. evlblkwpnz, I took your advice and visited the official Izhmash site (actually, I've been there many times before and it seems you have not) and look what I found... Seems that my stock-in-the-box Saiga 12 "unconverted" is a legit Izhmash model. The Saiga 12K is a seperate model and not available here in the states. You can take AK parts, some altered, some not and grind away on your stock Saiga 12 receiver to make it look just like a Saiga 12K. Go right ahead, to each his own. I have handled and fired both converted and unconverted Saiga 12's and I truly prefer shotties with standard (non-
  21. Every other type of full power buck, slugs, Rem heavy dove, Federal reduced recoil buck, basically everything but the cheapest Wally World birdshot will run but put some Fiocchi in the mag and FTE EVERY round, even out of the factory 5 round mag. Which I don't understand because it seems to have enough thump, I hunt with it out of an 870. I have relegated it to pump gun only ammo. Must have been a bad day at the Fiocchi plant or something. My gun is a Obama special from Cadiz, extra gas port drilled, KA gas piston etc. How long is the barrel on your Cadiz S12 and did you make any ch
  22. Hey mike I agree. It sounds like the hammer needs to be reprofiled. I had the same problem with the second S12 I bought.
  23. Well.... welcome aboard.... I got called out a while back for the things I neglected to say.... I thought it was bad, but this blows that sitch away. This thread is incredible and it looks like you found Klassy's button (Hi Klassy). I wasn't offended at all by the things you said, I just thought they were based on ignorance. Don't take it the wrong way, please. I'm not calling you unintelligent or anything of that nature. When you restore your S12 you will see the light. I just don't understand how you can have such a strong position about restored weapons when you have never experienc
