  1. This grip is comfy and in good condition, but I prefer the look of the traditional AK grips. I will trade for 2 black US made traditional style AK grips. They can be Century, Tapco, whatever, used, dinged, minor asphalt rash.... I don't care as long as they aren't hacked, cracked, split, or whittled on.... and they will work. It is the pistol grip on this S12. For some reason the pic is 'stretching', but you get the idea. Thank you Only have one? we can work something out. Like maybe a good non-crossthreaded grip screw and nut(original steel AK or Tapco), plus the US made grip.

Kinda, tap on it from the reciever side with a brass rod, wooden dowel, or something plastic like the rod you twist on a set of miniblinds (my wife loves it when I doo that ). It shouldn't take much to get it out of there.
  3. I currently have 1- 5 round Russian 1- 8 round Russian 1- 10 round AGP 3- 12 round SGM They all seem to be equally reliable from my limited experience. I am considering some of the 12 round Promag drums, but they are kinda pricey for the capacity they hold. I want to have at least 41 additional rounds or more of capacity in magazines, so I can do 100 rounds of back-to-back mag dumps. If I do Promag 12 rnd drums, I will need three of them and a 5 round mag. I'm also scared there will be a sale or a smoked cover sooner or later and I'll be pissed if I already bought them, lol. If it is a standard type puck made in the US, make sure the 'US' or whatever it says is toward the adjuster. Lube that sucker up really good too. It makes it easier to clean later. Clean the threads of the adjuster with a wire brush and lube the threads too. Hope this helps.
  5. It must be a factory trigger guard. I don't care about the finish. As long as it isn't hacked too bad and bent up, I'll be happy with it. reply by PM is fine and will get a fairly quick response in the afternoons. I prefer to pay via Paypal. Thank you!
  6. The DIY guard can only be used with the SAW grip. If you use a AK grip, when you tighten the screw it pulls the guard out of shape. A screw has a lot of leverage. I previously cut off the grip nut on the DIY unit and was using a traditional grip screw and nut configuration when this happened.
  7. The DIY guard can only be used with the SAW grip. If you use a AK grip, when you tighten the screw it pulls the guard out of shape. A screw has a lot of leverage. I figured that. I just don't care for the SAW grip. There's just something about it that I don't like the look of. I reshaped the guard so it rests flat against the grip like a standard trigger guard and made an attempt at hardening it. It seems a little stiffer now. I just cold blued it and it looks ok. I didn't want to invest a lot of effort into finishing it in case it gives up again. If a Tromix guard and a standard guar
  8. I would get one if it had a LRBHO, magwell that didn't require mag mods, and was aleady tapped for installation of a standard AK trigger guard.
  9. Fuck that range. It seems like most ranges these days are run by a bunch of dumbasses. There are a few in the Jacksonville area that are a really good time. Gun Gallery is good for pistols or small caliber rifles (indoors, but it gets hot in there)also, last time I was there some stupid bitch muzzle swept me with a loaded revolver and then looked at me like I was an idiot for dodging the muzzle, Second Amendment Inc. is good for rifles and pistols (no shotguns though, but it is indoor and super nice), Amelia Shotgun Sports is shotgun only and they let me do as many mag dumps as I want into the
  10. Wow! Now that is some good customer service.... fast too. email sent.... Everyone has a mistake or an issue now and then, but what separates the good guys from the bad guys is what they do about the problem.... if anything. Thank you ETAC!
  11. I just tried to harden this Tromix guard a little and it seems stiffer. I'll try this guard again and see what happens. My other S12 had the stock guard welded on and it broke loose where the rear attaches. I tapped the reciever and it is GTG. I want another stock trigger guard if this one bends again. Drill, tap, and Loctite.
  12. I drove almost 10 hours the day before and didn't get home until near midnight. My hands and knee have been giving me trouble lately too. Maybe arthritis. Actually, I have had a rough month. I have been hustling to complete jobs before I went on my honeymoon. I went to the range as an effort to vent.... I left the dog at home, lol. Gentlemen, thank you for the comments.
  13. Short and to the point.... here and here I have had a rough week, so forgive me if I don't look 'chipper' and excited.
  14. Sorry, I know it is spelled 'trigger'. I type blind. I went to the range yesterday and had some issues. On one of my S12s, I had installed a Tapco AK grip, with my Tromix trugger guard, and swapped out my stock puck for a Gogun (ETAC) puck (the copy of the original, not the Twister). This particular weapon was having an FTF on just about every mag. It ran excellent at the last trip, so I decided to take the Chaos puck out of the other Saiga to see if the new puck was the problem. The Gogun puck didn't go in the weapon very easy and it was even worse getting it out. I ended up having to ta
  15. I would assume the 100 stock goes to the left as to not impede manipulation of the charging handle or safety lever. I recieved my stock and installed it. I took my S12 to the range and the stock is perfect. The recoil pad absorbs recoil well. I was thinking of getting a Limbsazer pad for it, but the pad that came with it is very soft and feels like a gel shoe insert. It locks up rock solid and does not unlock under heavy recoil. I fired 200 rounds with no issues. I didn't Loctite any of the screws because I wanted to see if they would come loose. They are still tight. I am well pleased wit

It is very useful and taking it off wasn't an option for me either. I didn't realize how bad the thing bugged me before I got my second S12 which had the BHO bobbed. I recommend cutting it where it is almost flush with the reciever when pressed, but not quite. You may also want to round it off considerably on the front side of it, so it is more comfy to use. I'm tired as hell. I may post a pic of mine tomorrow for you. Yes, cut it down.... you will achive happiness. Put a few layers of tape on the reciever to protect it from a slipping file or runaway Dremel, lol.
  17. Perfect transaction. I had a shipping address issue and it was handled perfectly and accurately. Shipping was fast and the price was right. The ability to use Paypal was a plus too. I am very pleased and will purchase more from saiga12.com. Please stock some more items that I need, lol. I'll buy 'em. Maybe even another one of these stocks.... PG screw and nut would be a good start.
  18. I ordered the new AGP sidefolder from saiga12.com. I had a shipping issue and it was handled with accuracy.... because my stock arrived today. That was fast Onward, I cut the tang off of my S12 and it took about 10 minutes with a Dremel and small file. I had to tap the reciever block in with a rubber mallet as the block fit very snug (perfect really). The stock looks nice and fairly rugged. I don't intend to use it as a baseball bat, so I'm sure it will be perfect for my use. It locks up absolutely solid. It takes a quick 'snap' to get it to lock in the open position without pushing the b
  19. For my short nails there is no way I could push that detent without something other than the fingernail. This is much better for me now. I keep everything fairly wet so it cleans easy and I don't think I will need a tool now after rounds have been fired. I'll see soon. I plan on getting out to the range for some test firing again. Maybe tomorrow BTW I got my AGP stock.... that's another thread though....
  20. I just ordered one of the AGP sidefolders. I'll let you know how I like it. I think it would look fine on there with the grip and handguard you already have. Also, I have vert grips on both of my S12s. I couldn't imagine shooting them without one. You may want to figure out a way to make a vert grip work with that original handguard. I did it without modding the handguard at all.... and it is solid. I may post about it soon. Looks like you have a good start going there.
  21. I have a Tromix modified Tapco G2 and a G2 set that I modified to work. They are both fine, but only after doing some work to them (to take the 'grit' out of them). I would assume that nearly all of the available single stage fire control groups would need some tweaking to feel nice. They all install the same. The only big difference is that the Tromix modifed unit doesn't need modification. There may be some other brands that are ready to use as well, Red Jacket, etc.. The basic idea of the modification consists of taking material off of the hammer to allow room for the BHO and taking that lu
  22. I have my existing 19" S12s running at 98% with the Winchester Universal. One has been exstensively tuned. The other not so much. The only aftermarket parts in the action are US gas pucks (not twisters) and G2 kits. I think all of the "fix-it" items are kind of like looking beyond the problem for a solution. I was just wondering if I should go ahead and give the 24" the same treatment I gave the others before I waste a trip to the range. Of course, I will treat the porting differently than I did on the 19" S12s and it will be converted and compliant ASAP. I have about 10 hours in the exstensi
  23. Do the 24" S12s usually run better out-of-the-box on cheap birdshot than the 19" S12? I am thinking of buying one soon for the skeet shooting. I want to learn and I'd lke to do it with my own gun.
